What's so taboo about systemd? Why does everyone either not know what it is (me) or completely despise it all together? Redpill me user

I have Debian with sysv, uninstalled systemd

Can you still run software?
Anything differences? Package conflicts?

muh non-yoonix philosophy/monolithic architecture
muh 1M+ unauidited SLOC
muh kitchen sink

it's not that bad, user, it's just the best init and services manager that has basically merged several linux userland subsystems into an unaudited monolithic blob of shit

You posted the most based tho.

System d is bad for devs but not really bad for the end user afaik

it replaces everything on the system

>no packages
>inb4 compile them urself

I kind of don't like dbus being mandatory. What if I don't want programs telling other programs running as other users to do things over dbus and circumventing my per-user security that way? I would like to be able to say: This user isn't allowed to do x and know that there's no way in hell an action by that user can result in x. DBUS seems to be: aw all that shit is annoying and gets in the way so let's have a free-for-all. There may be some merit to that in a gui, but what if I don't even have a gui running?

What are the implications of this meme?
