I get 80wpm on a good day. 75 average on some shit Logitech kb. One odd thing I've noticed is that despite any actual practice and hard work, my typing speed has been steadily increasing. In 2016 I used to hit about 65wpm at most.

Could probably get better results if I bothered learning 10 finger typing at some point but I'm a lazy piece of shit.

I do touch-type and use my whole 10 fingers (except during emacs Kamasutra tier key chords)

It's how funny how distorted the standards of 'fast' are on places like Jow Forums. I'm 75-80 average which is pretty damn mediocre in keyboard nerd circles yet it's way faster than the average person. I tested my boomer parents on keyhero and they were dreadful. My Dad (an accountant) was about 20wmp and my Mum was about 5. My younger siblings fared much better scoring about average for the normal person (40-50).
I actually only learned to properly touch type with all of my fingers late last year when I could manage about 60 wpm without use of my pinkies.

idk, i've typed like that for 15+ years now, at school my teachers tried to change my ways but I typed so fast compared to everyone else they gave up

Does anyone have any tips to learning 10 finger? I use all 5 fingers on my left hand but only 3 on my left hand. My index finger, middle finger, and pinky finger for Shift on the right side.

It's fucking stupid but I can still hit 100-110wpm easily on typeracer, keyhero, wpm test, etc. I'd be much faster if I used all five of my fingers on the right side if I learned that way. My right thumb is also really strained easily after like 10 minutes. I think I'm just a tard honestly

No you don't, you use 4.

10fastfingers APM is invalid, you will type 30% slower on a real APM test like Typeracer.

Agreed. There's not a lick of punctuation to it or anything, I don't know why people think it is in any way a representation of real world typing ability.

So unless you are typing in one of these platforms that have you use all the symbols, your typing speed is irrelevant.

Not only does it lack punctuation, capitalization etc it also has an extremely limited word pool, but mostly importantly it lacks coherence which is typically what makes someone good at typing fast, it is much more complex to type a text with coherence than a random segment of words.

You have the official way of typing. I learned it, supposed.to be te fastest. But i don't use it. Different way of typing is more comfy.
