The internet needs more paywalls, not less. Paywalls would filter a lot of the retards out.

Anyways, he was browsing some ebay classifieds and I saw the big fat ad banners. Installed uBlock Origin on his computer and removed Ask and other bullshit addons.

adblock was bought by ad companies. Besides a clear conflict of interest, they use the habits you submit for market analytics. ublock was bought too, that's why you want Origin because gorhill isn't a sellout, yet.
There's a level of fine tuning in ublock Origin that let's you customize how you want pages to work-necessary today because script bloat and pages contacting 30+ sites before letting you load anything-. It's even better in uMatrix but chances are the level in ublock origin is more than enough for you.
