Chrome started it though.

It's awful, but everything else is worse

So like Jow Forums?

why 6 instances?
also mine uses about 250MB

what toaster are you on?

This is why Chromium will always be better.

I was doing some heavy shit. This is what it actually eats.

Works on my machine

Doesn't look like you ran out of memory so it's ok

Implying this isn't a sleazy Microsoft ploy to keep people from using anything other than their browser.

works on my machine, lol ;)

Your screenshot is meaningless. Who knows what you're doing and what your settings are. I have 5 tabs open here.

I'm trying to move on, but I don't think I'm gonna stick with Vivaldi as well.

jfc
Anyways, lower the process content in settings if you want to lower RAM usage. It's pretty stupid to worry about it though.

Also you can go to about:memory and click minimize memory usage.

That's pretty funny when they're going to increase process content to 8 at the next version.

>32 bits
That was the default download, don't know why 64bit wasn't offered.

I have beta which uses 8. It doesnt use more memory. Not sure what's funny about it.

Basically yes. Firefox (or rather, one of its forks, say, pale moon, waterfox, icecat) are Jow Forums, while chrome (came out later, is more popular, more normies use it) is reddit

>Windows
there's your problem

I'm pretty sure browsers prehentively allocate a bunch of excess memory to make browsing faster.
I'm sure if you actually needed it, then it would be freed up.

I have 32 gb of ram so that I can have as many tabs open as I want. Why would this task manager screenshot convince me anything is going wrong here.

If you're running out of ram I would recommend that you move to a lighter weight operating system such as Arch.

>/a/ AND MAL
Holy fuck, I'm scared to see how shit /a/ is these days. Vomit aside, I have 13 tabs open, and it's eating up 1.3 GB of RAM.

Windows 10's task manager combines all separate processes from an app into one listing, which GNOME's task manager doesn't.

From what's shown on your task manager (incl. Web Content and WebExtensions), Firefox is using up (at least) 1,055 MiB of RAM.

i've been noticing the same thing.

Try ESR. Has less bullshit.

the processes tab is never accurate for me

Just wait until ublock origin no longer supports chromium based browsers
ghacks.net/2019/01/22/chrome-extension-manifest-v3-could-end-ublock-origin-for-chrome/

How the fuck does a music player use 88% of your CPU? Foobartards will defend this

just restart firefox every hour lol

do you lack the ability to read?

I hadn't noticed the "forgot the pic xD".

Works on my machine

that's ok
