god i wish that were me

Where is the incel army? I want the staxfags out of my thread.

Redpill on STAX for the newbies: STAX is an old Jap company with outdated tech that was considered high end back in the 1960s and 1970s but sounds like ass by today's standards, so they went nearly bankrupt. They were purchased by a Chinese company for just a million dollars who decided to market STAX to the audiophool "more expensive is better" demographic who buys those crappy $3000 vinyl players, they shill heavily on HeadFi and here on /hpg/, plus they pay Zeos to shill their crap just like Fostex does.

>In December 2011, Chinese loudspeaker manufacturer Edifier announced the acquisition of 100% equity in Stax

Oratory has measured the highest end STAX, the SR-009S.

dropbox.com/s/61srehjyaltd7w0/Stax SR-009S.pdf?dl=0

dropbox.com/s/dm0m6u3s3b4zqzl/Sennheiser HD600.pdf?dl=0

It's worse than the HD600. HD600 scored 92 and SR-009S scored 76.

In a separate study:

>The very highest end STAX ($4000 SR-009) was rated lower in blind tests than a $200 K701

Even best Stax headphones sound objectively worse than mid-fi. This is why they don't demo them in store, they rely on the internet to create a sense of mystique around STAX and shill it as the endgame because its expensive, Asian, rare and obscure. In reality its no bass sounding garbage, with shrill highs that appeal only to near-deaf boomers. And what they say is true, they have no soundstage.

Stax look hideous, change my mind(you can't)

Where can I find a 2.5 to 3.5 male to male cable that isn't unrefined chinesium?

>male to male
gay

Terminate your own

Uh I don't want a vasectomy.

Between the dekoni blues and 4XX for entry level planar. Which is more is a better bang for buck? I hear the fostexx require a lot of power to drive.

What does it smell like /hpg/?

>no Miku
SHIT EDITION

Milk and crayons.

Imagine her calling you a creep then shoving the toes up your nostril. That would be disgusting haha

WTF WHERES MIKU!??

i prefer conelrad edition ;3

I just got my tacticion kannons and I want to do a quick report.
Bass: kannon > crusher 360
More slam and deeper bass
Mids: kannon > crusher 360
About the same really, but kannon edges out with less recessed mids
Highs: crusher 360 > kannon
Crusher 360 has better upper treble that doesn't get buried by intense bass.
I will most likely keep both, crusher 360 for my console games and kannon for computer use. My major gripe with the kannon is the absolute terrible build quality. Not even 1 day of use and my pair has something loose in both cups and rattles like crazy >_>

if two amps are roughly equal but one has a tube which will be louder?
and if I prefer a warm signature to go with my HD650 which should I pick?

Attached: F097F25B-5B38-4B2E-ABA8-49136971C1BA.jpg (3006x3011, 1.68M)

Buy amps is a waste of money.

>that fat distribution
Is that normal?

my DAC doesn't even have a headphone jack dude what do you mean

depends on the power output

I hear tubes sound really good with HD600, probably similar results with 650.

RCA to female 3.5?

>Crusher 360 has better upper treble that doesn't get buried by intense bass.
just treble boost 4-5khz and up by 10dB.

I’m convinced at this point that this is someone shitposting.

That's sexy.

for nostax sóycuckolds it is

Why aren't detachable headphones the standard? Its cheaper to produce and has better build quality as a result.

how is it cheaper to produce?

>cheaper to produce

>no /iemg/ shilling or discord link
>but footfag op
well i'll give you a 6/10 op

Well maybe not cheaper, but at most, its $0.10 cents more expensive.

time to change a battery for a power cable

nope, maybe it’s this one that needs changing

idk probably costs more than that

Definitely costs more than that. You know nothing about how production lines work.

What’s the difference between the RME Adi-2 Pro and Adi-2 DAC? If I were to get one which one should I get? And is it worth getting a seperate amp for it?

Soldering in the female 3.5mm jack vs soldering in the wire to a long cable. Same shit. Maybe charge the same without the cable and extra $2-3 for the 3.5mm cable.

back in business

yes complicate manufacturing even more

Oh yeah, and what bout the cable now hm? Gonna have to add an extra production line for that aren’t we?

Yea I'll try that after I RMA this one. Bass on this is an absolute monster.

Did you pad swap yours? I didn't know how terrible the pads were untill I got it in my hands.

dekoni elite lambskin m50 pads

Thanks. Does it affect the sound?

what listen ye on foneheads anonalona

RME DAC is digital to analog converter plus headphone amp, half the price of the Pro. Pro has both DAC and ADC in addition to a balanced headphone amp and XLR ins, can be used to record. Much more functionality for twice the price. Additionally for that kind of money they both have an awesome array of DSP, including parametric EQ and physical bass/treble knobs. I've heard no one bitching after they bought one.

Cable soldering is done the same old way, just for both ends. What's the issue here?

You can literally buy 3.5mm cable for ~1-2m long right now from ebay for $1. Are you saying it costs more to produce than to sell?

Status quo bias is very strong in people. People prefer things as they are to new things, even when its completely unreasonable to do so.

>doesn't understand how economy works
Do you have no semitic blood at all?

youtube.com/watch?v=MQvIzfTTiQE

you can buy a shitty cable for that much

reason I think it costs more than 10c is because I don't know how easily automated that process would be

lol i havent heard protomen in forever, classic

>1$ for a cable
You don't know about audiophile grade, incelitium free cables woven by virgin Chinese courtesans in training?

Attached: 1540344253413.jpg (1036x609, 77K)

If a headphone doesn't have detachable OR short cable option it's not worth buying. Buying an extension cable is much easier than cutting a long cable then resoldering it to be shorter.

Prove me wrong: You can't.

wow thats the same code i have on my luggage

stax

can't really have high voltage quick detachable cables

thank you based beyer!

Attached: 1537010797593.jpg (1600x1066, 173K)

but are they worth buying, user

based stax chad

If the company forgoes making their own cable and simply outsources the entire cable, it would cost them no more than a dollar for generic cheap Chinese cables. The point is, with in-house cabling process, it would be lot cheaper than the standard eBay prices. If they want to do a high end model, it's their choice as well.

well duh

beyers, stax, sennheisers, even audio Technicas all do this

proven wrong

My SR 404's left driver would buzz for a while and then eventually disappear. Would anyone happen to know how to fix this? I'm pretty sure there's no hair on the driver. I use it out of a SRM T1

Attached: B20504D5-BD63-44B0-80AE-C60E96CB5323.jpg (2463x3739, 1.83M)

based

Short the plug using your thumb pressing on 5 plugs to discharge them. If that doesn't solve it then smack the back of the driver with your palm it might be the driver being stuck against a stator

oof

Imagine actually believing this.

Reichmusik on my beyerdynamics

Serious question: What's so special about Stax? Is it old tech and a hipster meme. or is it truly more enjoyable to listen to?

Attached: 1547079852097.jpg (750x738, 39K)

Play 50hz sine wave on max volume

>smack the back of the driver with your palm
I'm gonna give it a baby tap at first before I go full on smack its shit. Will report back

Can someone recommend me a 1/4 headphone that has bass and does not crackle at high/low frequency

They are unbeatable summit-fi for acoustic music, but they're not for everyone.

Join the big dick gang => kannons

It's the worlds best sounding headphone. Once you go estat you never go back

What is a 1/4 headphone? You only want a quarter of a headphone?

dt 770

The buzzing sounds like it's in the lower frequencies, would playing the sine wave "drown it out" or just shake the driver enough to make it stop?

>What is a 1/4 headphone? You only want a quarter of a headphone?
the ones like 3.5mm headphones but with a thicker dick

>dt 770
>

1/4 jack doesnt make it sound any better, you can always just get an adapter. Also since you didnt post a budget I'm going to reccommend TH900

>1/4 jack doesnt make it sound any better,
yeah but they're more fun plugging in

AT ws1100is

Dildos are probably cheaper than high end headphones, user

I had to get an extension for my 3.5mm headphones
However the extension turned out to be a bit longer than expected.
How can I wrap up the cord without causing interference?
I heard that coiling it isn't good to do but how about if I 3d print a spiral for it to spiral around?
