Not from apple, but Chinese tablets from $100 up are more useful in terms of OS/software, and from $250 or so they are better in terms of hardware (about the same hardware with some important extras like a microSD slot).

Sort of unrelated and I'll probably get called an indian, but I bought one of the new 11" iPad Pros for my wife when they launched and that fucking thing is blisteringly fast.

She uses it for her presentations and notes, etc. for school and the capabilities are well beyond that of our own. My old complaints that made me not want to fuck with the tablets were that they didn't have keyboards or mice and that you couldn't really do anything besides play angrybirds or watch porn on them, but now you can just use bluetooth devices and hook up to wifi printers/scanners and that's solved.

I don't like the fucking pricing, but you can't deny that they are really good these days.

I got the example same model for $120 with Comcast's triple play, OP. It's priced a tad lower because they're meant to be used for education, so there are pretty dated things still on it (camera is a downgrade from Air 2, and it's thicker as well) even though it came out this year. Get the 32gb model unless you plan on being fairly video-heavy with your work.
