I have just been using my depression strategically and eating ~800 calories a day for a little while now. I just started taking weight loss semi-seriously about a week and a half ago; haven't eaten junk food since.

reduce the temperature in your bedroom and use thinner cover. If you can't fall asleep due to the cold have a heater with a timer that goes off after 30 minutes so you're already asleep when temps go lower. As for the tech angle you can use a chilled mattress pad

I'm the exact opposite, I need to gain weight. I would feel awful whenever I try to eat more than the usual.

But more seriously, maybe you can try vaping if you're already a smoker because it tastes sweet and it has nicotine so you feel less hungry, also slightly healthier than smoking.
Next definitely safe thing is maybe chewing some sugarfree gum.
Main thing is cutting out sugar and junk food. So switch to (unsweetened) coffee, green tea and water as drinks, snack on some nuts and fruits, or even 85%+ pure chocolate (tastes good but not that great to binge on).
Pecan nuts are a good start for basedboy tastes.

And try riding a bicycle or walking wherever possible.

So possible tech to use would be:
-some app to track what you eat to get some awareness and see what you can change (you can use paper too, but some apps might help by annoying you with notifications)
-maybe a chink fitness watch to track if you're actually moving more (not really necessary)
-vape if you're a smoker anyways

But yeah you still need willpower, I'd suggest trying to change one small thing at a time every week or so. Just write down what you want to achieve, log the good and bad things you did every day before you go to bed, try to appreciate he good things you did and remember that it's no big deal if you make some mistakes along the way.

Seriously that diary like shit is pretty crucial. Also ask yourself why you ate cheetos or whatever (boredom, stress, didn't have anything else to snack on?)

But yeah there's no magical silver bullet tech except a gastric bypass and that shit is kinda last resort and shouldn't be necessary for you.

Take general multivitamin/multimineral but don't go full retard and over do vitamins. Just take one after food, the vitamins should help your body metabolize energy. This is really important if you eat shit food

Normal diet plan with 100g or less loss per day. With the convenient cooking utensils to match (rice cooker can be good).

Smart scales and some Mi Band 3 or such to record some supporting data without effort, I guess. You'll need longer term recordings if you lazily do them because daily fluctuations with water and content of intestines and such are normal.

Overall easy to do though, just add some more digestable energy to otherwise healthy food and you should gain weight. Easy to get 20-50g per day, possible but not ez to gain 100-200g or so in emergency. It'll add up either way.

Set an alarm that'll go off daily, then another daily alarm that goes off 2 hours after that. When the first alarm goes off you can start eating, but after the second alarm goes off you can't consume any calories until it starts again tomorrow.
