Oppai lolis

how do we not end up with multiple /tpg threads when one hit the limit?

x201 cutest thinkpad

gross
because fags dont try and thread split to get some sense of superiority about being op

Attached: 1548198145154405.jpg (1746x2328, 3.34M)

come on, this is the 15th time this pic has been in the OP, we can do better
because /tpg/ is a fairly slow general and people are hesitant to make new threads... although, there was one time a few weeks ago when there were three or four threads going at the same time (pic related)

Attached: tpg--.png (532x339, 122K)

because you can get banned for making duplicate threads, and also because not many people care.. last thread got to 345 before someone made a new one.. if I were to estimate, I think I personally have made about half of the /tpg/ OPs in the last few months

reporting in with superior modified keyboard

Attached: nGUBvtE.jpg (2048x1536, 713K)

>because you can get banned for making duplicate threads
but the pic is different
does Jow Forums only check the text?

yeah, Jow Forums only checks text.

I only make a new thread if the old one reaches page 7 or 8 or so and there isn't another up. quick search of tpg in the catalog before hitting post is all it takes.
>come on
I chose at random from my chinkpad folder and don't save any pics from here that have anime dolls or pets as the actual focus of the image. Lain/Gentoopad from last thread probably should have been OP admittedly. I usually use old TP ads on the rare occasion I make a new thread.

Total brainlet here please help me out

Is 8gb ram and i5-7200U Processor fine to last for +4/5 years? or should I try to upgrade it to 16gb ram post haste?

Is it me or can you fix a thinkpad with anything? The design is so simple that you can fix it with whatever you have lying around.
>lost the rubber from the inside of the trackpoint's RMB
>replaced it with part of an old nerf dart
as long as you use a good linux distro and take care of your ThinkPad then it will last you until 2038 (if the y2k 2: electric boogaloo fearmongering is correct)

just bought a t440s for $250

>8GB RAM 256GB SSD i7 2.3GHz 1080P isp

how'd i do?

next gen i5-8250u is so vastly superior i feel like 7200u users got cucked hard

the person was sorta correct to point you to /osg/, some were made by a shop that two other guys n me run, some were made by a friend who isn't from /osg/ or associated with it and right-most and top-most are gifts from friends

breddy gud desu.
>t. bought a T410 for $20

nioce, good shit

>Lain/Gentoopad from last thread probably should have been OP admittedly.
any of these would've been good:

yeah, using it right now.
My old laptop was some shitass L520 that had more problems than my ex. I sperg'd out defending it on the last tpg but now i know they were right all along. now i'm using a T410 and i am more comfy than ever.

good upgrade

i sold my t450s for $300 it had 12gb but i5 core
i think once i get a new trackpad the t440s will be even better bc i7

what's wrong with the trackpad?

it's infamous for being garbage, choppy and buggy and has no buttons

the T440 trackpad doesn't have physical buttons.

oh shit really? God I hate buttonless trackpads. My old ASUS laptop had no buttons and I constantly misclicked, RMB never worked and I eventually gave up and got a ThinkPad

what's a good alternative? i just bought a t440s and the lack of buttons on a trackpad is really killing... link me up scotty

Should I get multitouch screen? I really don't want it but found a good deal I'm curious whether it would cause a trouble etc in the long run

Attached: 1404658334496.png (1308x1332, 179K)

Well, would you put the screen to good use?

You can replace the T440s trackpad with a T450s one
Here's a video of a guy doing it.
youtube.com/watch?v=UM1p-kBaw6U

Is fhd on x250 worth it?

Yes

then make the new thread yourself next time nigger you had almost 2 hours after bump limit was reached to do it

The fuck are you on about, the T420 doesn't have a touch screen

>the only thinkpad that exists is a T420

Prove me wrong

I'm using a T410

Does it have a fucking touch screen? I bet not

Attached: 1545347151862.jpg (787x900, 276K)

kek

What would be the cheapest ThinkPad that will run indie games and web browsing perectly. I'm in the UK if that maters.

niggerlicious

Depends on the indie games but probably something for the xx20 generation or maybe the xx10

What's the best yoga I can get for less than $200?
don't want something powerful, just something to make my frens go wow user cool pc and to play around with distros

why have you corebooted your thinkpad yet?

Attached: IMG_1517.jpg (2268x3024, 593K)

ebay.co.uk/p/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T430-14-240GB-Intel-Core-i5-3rd-Gen-2-6GHz-8GB-Notebook-Laptop-Black-2347A31/219667923?thm=3000

Is this a good deal? Or should I buy a refurbished one instead?

What benefits it has?
I already have whitelist and me nuked.

because it has not shipped yet :)
for me it's speed and cool shit like putting the linux kernel inside the bios memory chip

Attached: w520.jpg (1600x1200, 229K)

Might customise the lock screen a bit and then all I need to do is a GRUB theme.

Attached: IMG_20190213_220506.jpg (3968x2976, 1.33M)

I have also done this on my X240, but I had to trim a lot of plastic and glue it in.
No ragrets though.

I sperged at you as well, sperg happens.
You got a great deal on that T410, enjoy it.

I'm using an FHD panel on my X240 right now, it's worth it for sure.

About to buy a 4GB DDR3 1333MHz stick for my T420 from the chinks.
21 buckw shipped, from 'Samsung', cheaper option is Kllisre which looks even more shady.

i'm using unbranded "binful" shits
it just works, who gives a shit about jewish brand tricks

I bought a Chinese SSD with a brand name I can't even pronounce and it turned out to be awesome.
Good luck.

Outrageous

I've been using my chink kingdian ssd since 2016 or so
good shit and dirt cheap at that time

Any x60/x61 users around that did the screen conversion to HV121P01-101? Chink screens are my only option, and I wanted to know if its worth doing the conversion (i think ill add an led backlight too).

I'll get the meme name one. It's fucking 15 bucks.

faster startup
no botnet
free
open source

what res is that screen?
is that panel easy to get?

My yellow power jack is broken on my t430s...
Is this what I need to repair it?
It is just the yellow port.

Attached: idiot.jpg (1600x1600, 145K)

I have a sxga+ X61t illyapad as daily carry laptop.
>its worth doing the conversion
of course

yeah that's the part you need

thx daddy~

Attached: DYUYLpXXUAAhEhx.jpg (225x225, 8K)

Its 1400x1050, its on aliexpress and co
Ok, my only concern is trimming parts of the panel since I have no tools and stuff,
how did you do it - any difficulties? I have an ips x60 and the screen doesnt compare to the turd that is the x61 screen.

Fuck I wish I had that numpad.

>how did you do it
I didn't, SXGA+ was an option for the X61t.

Attached: s2.jpg (1050x1400, 1.14M)

Just lost an auction for an x230 normal speced. So now my question is whether an x230 with i7, 180 GB SSD, 8GB of
RAM and a mysterium panel is worth it for 260 bucks. It looks to be in good shape. Thoughts?

>tfw X140e hasn't come yet
Before you criticize, it's just for typing stuff on the go.

Where can I obtain the keyboard at bottom right?

which thinkpad is the lightest aside from the X1?

Attached: 1526979046179.jpg (633x485, 180K)

ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Black-IBM-M13-13H6705-Mechanical-Keyboard-w-Integrated-Trackpoint-PS-2/303060159045
You can find stuff like it on ebay I guess, not very cheap though.

>cunt with 80% importation fee
>there's an ad in a national website that's selling a x200 with 4gb ram, 250gb hdd, flawless chassis and gud battery for fukken $80 (which are like $150+ here without the same quality)
>ask seller to announce it on a website that gives buy & seller warranty
>he does it
>someone buys it before me
Please kill me and bury me with my blog posting.

Someone please sell me a good condition x60s. I need this exact ThinkPad and I've been looking for a couple months now but there's nothing but a broken one on eBay...

Welcome to my world.

About how much should I pay for an 100Wh battery for a W540? Should I buy refurbished ones? I can get refurbished batteries on eBay for ~$30 CAD.

How good is the IBM Space Saver II lads?

>80% importation fee
mamma mia, where is this?
Just buy a shite condition one, replace all plastics + keyboard.

Based Brazil.

Can someone give me a step by step guide on how to libreboot my T400? I've been meaning to do it for a very long time and my brainlet ass is gonna go nowhere without a step by step guide.

Still trying to get this keyboard into my 430. About three days of off/on sanding and it just barely fits. Need I keep going? Should I force it in? What do?

Attached: 20190213_184235.jpg (2560x1440, 1.14M)

JAM IT IN
TURN IT ON

lol, from what website were you going to buy it?
I'm seriously thinking of getting this one:
produto.mercadolivre.com.br/MLB-1106747676-lenovo-w530-i7-4gb-hd500-nvidia-garantia-nf-brinde-_JM?quantity=1

But I want it to look nice :(

I'm pretty sure Luke Smith has a video on librebooting thinkpads although that might just go for the x200s

Should I get a t400 or t60? I wanna libreboot

get something with a core 2 duo and you can libreboot it bud

Just scored a T530 with a 1080p panel, QM i7 and a quadro chip for $280

Did I do good?

Attached: jam it in.jpg (603x600, 100K)

That's not an answer...

What's a cheap hard drive that won't break for my t400

I have found an offer of T450s in a good condution, with replaced batteries, ips fhd for 350euros. The only issue is the crack on one side, is there a way to fix it? The offerer says it does not have any impact on the use, but it looks bad

Attached: _20190214_015557.jpg (745x467, 37K)

If that is the pic then the problem seems to be with either the bottom cover or possibly the keyboard bezel, both are around $30 on ebay.
Though the bottom covers seem to be knockoff plastic ones so if you want a OEM one you'll have to pay up a lot more.

Doesn't look like it'd really affect usability but you might not be able to screw in a VGA cable.

Attached: 1547977491995.jpg (1600x1600, 236K)

Has anyone done an ips swap for a x200 or x201?

240X

Yes. There was just one on eBay for sale with the swap already done. Ive never done it though. I prefer the 1440x900 panel cuz more pixels is more important to me

After some grinding I finally did it and the keyboard looks and feels hella nice.
Yay
