>State the budget & CURRENCY
>Post at least some attempt at a parts list
>List your uses, e.g. Gaming, Video Editing, VM Work
>For monitors, include purpose (e.g., photo editing, gaming) and graphics card pairing (if applicable)

CPUs based on current pricing:
>Athlon 200GE - HTPC, web browsing, bare minimum gaming (can be OC'd on some MSI mobos)
>R3 2200G - Recommended minimum gaming
>R5 2600/X - Good gaming & multithreaded work use CPUs
>i7-9700k/8700k - Extreme setup with RTX 2080/Ti | If you can't afford to spend 350 dollar on a CPU go with AMD.
>R7 2700/X - Best value high-end CPU on a non-HEDT platform
>Threadripper/Used Xeon - HEDT

RAM:
>Always choose at least a two stick kit; 2x 8GB is recommended
>CPUs benefit from high speed RAM; 3000CL15 or 3400CL16 is ideal
>All AMD chipsets and Intel Z chipsets support XMP

Graphics cards based on current pricing:
>Used cards can be had for a steal; inquire about warranty
1080p
>GTX 1060, RX 570, RX 580 for older or less demanding titles
>RTX 2060 thanks to 6gb VRAM is only good as a short-term solution; consider 1070/Ti or Vega 56
1440p
>RTX 2070; consider 1070/Ti or Vega 56 ONLY if on sale
>RTX 2080 if you're looking for very high (100+) framerate and you have a CPU and monitor to match
2160p (4k)
>RTX 2080
>RTX 2080 Ti is better, but very expensive

General:
>PLAN YOUR BUILD AROUND YOUR MONITOR IF GAMING
>A 256GB or larger SSD is almost mandatory; consider m.2 form factor
>Bottleneck checkers are worthless

$1000 in pc cases
$30 in a desk

>not recommending the VII for blender and shit

Wow, what a gay OP

Yeah I'm sure we all spend many an hour just working away in blender here.

Is this a meme case?

Attached: file.png (1000x1000, 688K)

Jokes on you, I don't want a shit gpu more than I want to live

>GPUs are just for gaming!

I want /v/ to leave.

Good airflow, but so small. And it just feels cheap in person.

The top airdust filter is so cheap with magnets it came off after a few weeks.

I moved from Meshify C to Phanteks Evolv X and couldn't be happier.

The meshify? Absolutely not. It’s an amazing case.

Speaking of, gonna put together quick case recommendation. So far I’m thinking 1 case size per bracket (

You can't even buy one

Reason I asked is I'm trying to decide between it and pic related (Eclipse P400). Need something with good airflow and something quiet, my current case sounds like a jet engine.

And yeah a case recommendation bracket sounds good

Attached: file.png (1500x1500, 443K)

What good low-cost (yet reliable) case and SSD can I get?
best I can do is 90€. I'm building a PC for a friend and I went a little over budget.

Attached: best I can do.jpg (1400x1050, 93K)

Probably better you leave mate, this has always been DIY game console general.

It will be cringeworthy to own with 3 years.

The P400 is actually really good, my mate got one for his new build (about 6 months ago).

What size case and form factor? Do you have any requirements for the case?
M.2 or normal SATA? How big do you need?

Please help me upgrade my PSU. This is my first time customizing a desktop.

This is the model I'm using, purchased in November during a Black Friday deal:
bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-master-desktop-amd-ryzen-5-series-8gb-memory-amd-radeon-rx-580-2tb-hard-drive-240gb-solid-state-drive-black/6290721.p?skuId=6290721&intl=nosplash

CPU: Ryzen 5 2600
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX (2x8GB) DDR4 3000MHz (Upgraded to this from the single 8gb stick it came with)
GPU: XFX RX 580 (4gb version)
Motherboard: MSI B450M Bazooka
PSU: EVGA 450 BV (Seems like a cheap obscure model, link here: evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=100-BV-0450-RX)

For now I am using a 60Hz monitor at 1080p and I don't plan to replace it this year. The only upcoming graphically demanding games I am looking forward to are Sekiro, Cyberpunk 2077, and MH World: Iceborne.

GPU wise I am considering an RX580 (8GB) on the cheap end. Are there any other worthwhile cards in the $200-$300 range? Otherwise what I can infer so far is that a 1070 Ti would be better at $400. Is the RTX 2060 not worth it at $350 because of the 6GB?

How much watt capacity should I go for if I want flexibility to eventually upgrade to a higher-end graphics card? What about the connectors in the cables, do most PSUs come with a standardized set of connectors for compatibility with the other components?

Thanks.

What's a good 4 TB internal hdd I can buy? Preferably from microcenter so I can just pick it up immediately since it's close by

Corsair RMx 650W

Get a second hand 1070ti or 1080. Both will server you well into the future at 1080p and even some 1440p if you upgrade
Grab a evga G3 650w. Will cover you no worries and comes with a good warranty.
App PSUs come with a full set of cables for everything you could need

For me it's the DAN A4

microcenter.com/product/476881/barracuda-4tb-5900rpm-sata-iii-6gb-s-35-internal-hard-drive

How slow will 5900 rpm be? Will it make me want to kms? I'm talking more about watching videos from it or playing games on it

Is there a newer tempered glass 400c equivalent? mines scratched to shit

Attached: 41yW323%2BpiL.jpg (365x500, 27K)

how does I build cheap rig?

I just want to be able to play shitty games of the last decade not cyberpunk or next gen shit.

uk want to spend 500 ish. any link or guide would help. any good pre built sites are fine too cus im lazy and clueless and never built shit

Someone said in the other thread that if a monitor has a 6ms response time or more then 144hz is useless due to ghosting. Is that true?

How much of a meme is a Samsung 970 Evo Plus among nvme drives? I want something that's good in real world performance and not just gaymer benchmarks, but no one does real world performance reviews.

MSI B450M Gaming Plus or Asrock b450m pro4?

2600X, probably not OCing.

Just get an Ryzen 2400g with decent 3000 ram. That's it.

i want a micro atx case with three 5.25 bays that looks like an absolute dinosaur
im talking beige plastic, plain silver metal, etc
at least one 120mm fan location is ideal but if there isnt one i can make one

Nvme drives are a meme in general if you don't do super I/O shit. I cant feel a difference between my sata SSD and my nvme SSD since I just play games or store files off of it. Only good thing is I can jerk off to crystaldiskmark scores

5900 RPM HDDs are fine for long term storage, if you're playing games off it however get a 7200 RPM 1TB

You're just jealous that you don't have a $30 desk. Go back to Russia comrade.

If you do high iops shit like Docker/VM i would recommend getting those NVME drives
But normal shit like porn, Jow Forums, facebook, cpu/gpu benchmarks, jacking off to furry porn just get sata ssd

Crucial P1 is better. As others stated get a normal SSD unless you’re working with stupid big files
About the same, I prefer MSI as they’ve been reliable and have good customer support. However my old ASRock b85m is still going strong too so yea
>OS on M.2
>commonly played games on SSD
>Games in 7200 HDD
>everything else doesn’t matter

>$200
I wish silverstone or some other mainstream manufacturer would make a sub $50 copy
uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZYYzr6

thank you fine Jow Forumsentlemen

Which sub-200EURO board for my 8700k?

is "always pick a power supply that's got twice your expected power draw" a meme

looking to upgrade my PC but I honestly don't know where the fuck to start. I want to do a major upgrade so I won't have to feel like upgrading for awhile a least.

My goal is to play most new titles at high or medium settings with a smooth 60 or 120 FPS if possible at 1080p. I don't really care about 4k. I know I need a new mobo and processor.

Wasn't AMD supposed to drop some major fucking bomb? Did they do that yet? What should I upgrade on my PC?

Attached: PCSPECS_7_4_2018.png (554x429, 24K)

pcpartpicker.com/list/TKDNV6

Rate my build.

>Wasn't AMD supposed to drop some major fucking bomb
he doesn't know

>tfw own an rtx 2060
>tfw the VRAM will literally put it on the same level as the RX 580 in 2022
I am a retard.

What did you upgrade from? I've got a 1060 6gb and not sure if it's worth it.

is the fractal design nano the only good option i have if i want the quietest mini itx case possible

quality > high wattage
rated wattage is usually just an arbitrary designation. My overclocked haswell + r9 290 system runs fine on a gold 450w.
looks good. If you're looking for a card then watch for a 2060 below $300 or vega with game bundle.

From nothing. Well technically a 6 year old gaymen laptop. I need to fucking hope that the (((reviewers))) are telling the truth about this shit lasting at LEAST 2 years.

In a way it's actually easier to achieve 4K@60fps because your only GPU bottlenecked there.

For 60+ fps your old i5 is going to be a bottleneck. You could wait for ryzen 3000 series in April/May. Current ryzen will typically peak at 100-110 fps in maxed out titles due to frequency limitations. Intel cpus can technically do that but there are so many issues with Intel right now I would only buy their CPUs discounted and only if I had time for delidding, tuning, and patching. Only after that would I be confident you get a reliable 120 fps.

I would also get a used Pascal card like. GTX 1070ti or 1080 for like $230-300 USD.

>next gen consoles are probably going to destroy it at 4k60fps
t-thanks nvidia...

Thank you my dudes. I will look into those PSU models. This is the case btw: phanteks.com/Eclipse-P350X.html

Do you know if the 250mm (9.8 in) clearance is spacious enough for the PSUs you mentioned?

Is 700w too much then? A 1070ti or a 1080 is actually about as far as I could budget for this year, so I'm glad to hear you both recommending 650w.

Ok. It'll be mainly for video storage and playing videos off of it. Gaming was just a "what if"

> Case
> make my computer quiet
wat?

some cases rattle around and start humming and shit, and it's unclear how helpful the acoustic panels in the nano s are

6870 is worthless at this point. It's on par with a GT 1030. While the haf 912 was a decent budget case in the past it's really outdated now. Monitor and ram are fine. I personally hate ASRock bios and have had terrible experiences with their modern budget boards.

I hope you are saving up for a new GPU. Don't forget to check eBay listings, 9 month old mining cards are going for like $200 below MSRP usually.

Return it and get a used 1070ti/1080 off eBay for less.

How do I plug in the blue USB 3.0 connector without fucking it up?

Attached: f7990250a60043abd57e29efd23f7844.jpg (640x775, 67K)

How high can I take an EVGA 1060 SSC before fucking with the voltage in Afterburner?

I'm at 2010MHz under load and not going anywhere near thermal throttling

Attached: 1548395407519.jpg (1024x893, 92K)

in terms of getting a new mobo and processor what should I aim for? Just wait for the AMD drop to see what they offer? I am just itching to upgrade. I have the cash but I don't know which parts would be most cost effective.

With the notch upright and where it is supposed to connect.

What is everything that can hold memory without access to power?

>Hard drive
>Boot drive

Anything else? Can the GPU / CPU / Monitor hold any small amt of memory?

how hard do i have to press down, will i hear a noise

Just push it in until you can't easily pull it out. The CPU ZFI bracket is way more nervewracking than the 3.0 header

jokes about the same aside, how is the PC-O11? I've been looking at it for a build I'm doing.

Attached: 11-112-583-V21.jpg (640x480, 20K)

*name, fuck

Attached: pc-o11.jpg (259x194, 11K)

wtf is a cpu zfi bracket

The lever you pull down to keep the CPU in place

I was gonna wait a couple of days to see if any news on the 1660 pop up, and seeing if they're worth it.

The 6870 and HAF 912 are just from my previous 6 year old build.

I'll use the 912 for now and the 6870 until I find a good deal on a card.

oh yeah mine made a crunching noise, thought i broke it but found it its supposed to

bump

>screw down the CPU cooler
>creaking noises from the spring
WHY

Should I get a 2060 or 1070 ti for gaming in 1080p for 2-3 years?

You say that but you didn't back it up with any reasons why you would feel others would cringe at you for having it.

You can't really fuck with the voltage on new nvidia cards, just turn everything as high as it goes and that's your overclock.

Good airflow? Not in your pic. That would have ok airflow only.

1070 Ti. RTX 2060 is on par or better than it right now, but the low VRAM will fuck your ass. It won't age well.

I'm interested in this too.
So following up on this, I see the EVGA PSU listed here:
amazon.com/EVGA-Supernova-Modular-Warranty-220-G3-0650-Y1/dp/B01LYGFRL6/

I found new 1080's listed between $340 and $350:
amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01LLAJ8PU/

The cheapest used 1070 Ti at about $390 (ASIC seller seems sketchy):
amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B076S4RT1J/

And here's some 2060s with mostly good reviews:
amazon.com/ZOTAC-GeForce-Graphics-IceStorm-ZT-T20600F-10M/dp/B07MBKKQPW/
amazon.com/MSI-GeForce-192-bit-Architecture-Graphics/dp/B07MC23VS4/

Any input on these ZOTAC models? Are they a good brand? Is the 1080 a better choice than the 2060? Or is a used 1070 Ti worth the risk?

Thanks.

Attached: 1544414571959.png (1920x1080, 1.25M)

Will do an Ncase M1 build soon enough. A shame it had to be this large.

>new 1080s

Sorry, meant 1070s. Is the 8gb 1070 a better choice than the 6gb 2060?

This is the cheapest refurbished 1080 I see so far:
amazon.com/GeForce-Graphic-TURBO-GTX1080-8G-Certified-Refurbished/dp/B07JZHGJXB/

Only if you mean 1070 Ti. Don't get the 1070. Both the 1070 Ti and 2060 perform roughly the same in games right now, but the increase in VRAM usage down the road means the 1070 Ti will age better.

Convince me not to buy this. I've got a 1060 right now, and want to get a 1440p monitor.

Attached: 2070.png (1789x739, 740K)

Are there any small form factor motherboards that can support a 2 slot GPU and a capture card or am I stuck with ATX?

youtube.com/watch?v=42mx99zpHIQ

2060 btfod

>tfw leaning more n more towards a comfy full amdjeet zen 2 build when it releases desu

Based chink who can barely speak english. RTX 2060 owners on suicide watch

I'm still mad that Radeon VII wasn't going to be the launch of a new line and we still need to wait a couple months.

Hopefully the ASUS X470 I picked up will be sufficient for Zen2

Attached: 1545791820838.jpg (900x900, 63K)

Would there be a noticeable different between nvme and sata ssd for compile times?

JUST wait until october

why wait for a navi midrange card when discounted veyga 56s are damn cheap now i dont really get it

the vii sucks pretty bad yes

I am, got a cheap 1600 and the X470 ready.

Gonna pick up a suitable heatsink and better case fans in June. Planning to unfuck my case's airflow by switching to some backplane mounted SSDs and M.2 drives

Attached: 1548463158678.jpg (1000x1200, 110K)

>decide against buying a 2070 and wait for now
>970 starts artifact a day later

worst comes to worst how do the cheaper amd cards work for vr

>discounted veyga 56s are damn cheap now
Where?

various eu sites

>tempted to upgrade graffix card thanks to tax returns
>next gen consoles are right around the corner
>can barely tell a difference in graphics between consoles and PC these days
>not sure if it's worth it

I need some help lads. Am I making a mistake if all I use my PC for is gayming and funposting? Should I just switch to consoles? They get all the games anyways...

Attached: 1545151017316.gif (275x275, 1.79M)

Fuck I should have known.
You EU fags are the absolute worst with assuming everyone knows what's going no in the EU.

atleast u got quads and a eu sale is like us default prices anyway :^)

I tried the Pixio PX329 and I don't like it as a main monitor. Maybe it's because I'm spoiled with IPS from the U2312HM and P2314H, but the VA panel looks a little washed. Are there are any IPS alternatives in the same price range? So far, the only one I would consider is the Acer XF270HU Abmiidprzx, but it's quite pricey new. I could go for refurbushied or used for $350 or just straight up keep the PX329.

>not sure if it's worth it
It's not, all the best games run great even on 5yo gpus and the """"""good""""" looking games are all shit.

Built a gaymen PC last month, haven't played a single graphically demanding game on it yet. Literally stick with your current GPU until you run into a game that you enjoy that murders your FPS.

>and a eu sale is like us default prices anyway
Hence the answer to your question "why wait for a navi midrange card when discounted veyga 56s are damn cheap now" is "because they're not actually cheap, just less marked up in a minor region"

>For now I am using a 60Hz monitor at 1080p and I don't plan to replace it this year
honestly don't even bother buying anything until you upgrade your monitor.
>Is the RTX 2060 not worth it at $350 because of the 6GB?
You will never use more than 6GB VRAM at 1080p and simultaneously be hitting 60fps.
