woah SOCIAL MEDIA CODING is so great!!1!

>using some meme repository where you give up ownership of your work

Where is your graph??

How do you guys have so many commits? Granted I hardly ever commit but still, thousands seem like a hell of a lot

don't bully (unless you really really want to)

>huge 10 month gap in work output
yikes!

>not self hosting with cgit + gitolite

if you work on a medium-large+ project you get used to committing a lot
add in the fact that it's usually more than one project and you're all set with thousands of commits per work day

>falling for the communism meme.
yikes!

I dunno, the whole idea of frequently committing seems weird to me, I generally like to add/patch things in large bundles, outside of quickly fixing a bug that breaks something.

I guess github is set up to constantly have your latest code on it, but that seems like a horrible idea for someone like me that roughly drafts code and has placeholders up until I push.

Back to Facebook with you.

I'm a student and i push to github every time I make somewhat significant progress on a homework or project. I'm using arch and just in case some shit happens, I don't want to chroot it just to pull out a few files.I can just clone it to my old laptop if needed.

most of the crap I write would get me banned from github
so I only maintain a few tiny projects that don't really need updating

anyone else hate github for turning programming into a reddit-like popularity contest?

What do you write, user?

literally what my due name one

I primarily work on a develop branch and feature branches and merge to master once it is "presentable/functional"

Branches exist

>letting people see my shameful unfinished code

would rather die honestly

You can very clearly observe the periods in which I was unemployed.

I violate the TOS of tons of websites, and they have DMCA'd my repos in the past.
And I put lots of bad language in my code and project names, one almost got me banned.
I write loads of spambots too, I think they aren't against the rules there but it would probably just let whoever I'm spamming know how I do it so it's dumb.
So I just keep this stuff to myself.

Funny enough, my old github was banned for scraping code on github for API keys/passwords to different things that people spend money on.
It's specifically against github's TOS and excluded from github's api for a reason.

i code more than this i swear!

u can notice the gap in the summer cuz i got lazy once school finished

any money in it or just doing it for fun?

You can set up bots to space out your commits, or just generate bullshit ones in private repositories to make it look like your busy, or just draw pictures like

Would they ban you if you draw a swastika?

yes
they banned webm for retards for it's name alone

i only contribute to p4 repo
