*SSSSSSNNNNNNNIIIIIIFFFFFFFFF*

Post your favorite songs.

Stax have bass and no distortion.

Redpill on STAX: STAX is an old Jap company with outdated tech that was considered high end back in the 1960s and 1970s but sounds like ass by today's standards, so they went nearly bankrupt. They were purchased by a Chinese company for just a million dollars who decided to market STAX to the audiophool "more expensive is better" demographic who buys those crappy $3000 vinyl players, they shill heavily on HeadFi and here on /hpg/, plus they pay Zeos to shill their crap just like Fostex does.

>In December 2011, Chinese loudspeaker manufacturer Edifier announced the acquisition of 100% equity in Stax

Oratory has measured the highest end STAX, the SR-009S.

dropbox.com/s/61srehjyaltd7w0/Stax SR-009S.pdf?dl=0

dropbox.com/s/dm0m6u3s3b4zqzl/Sennheiser HD600.pdf?dl=0

It's worse than the HD600. HD600 scored 92 and SR-009S scored 76.

In a separate study:

>The very highest end STAX ($4000 SR-009) was rated lower in blind tests than a $200 K701

Even best Stax headphones sound objectively worse than mid-fi. This is why they don't demo them in store, they rely on the internet to create a sense of mystique around STAX and shill it as the endgame because its expensive, Asian, rare and obscure. In reality its no bass sounding garbage, with shrill highs that appeal only to near-deaf boomers. And what they say is true, they have no soundstage.

And to top it all off its plastic chinkshit:

I got hit with a ban last time from dumping my anime folder. I'll keep making foot OP as long as I can my friend :)))

lmfao that's good

>Friendly reminder
you can't accurately measure headphones since everybody's
>ear
>ear canal
>ear lobe and ear shape
>skull shape
>skull thickness
>skin thickenss
>and head shape and size
are different
measurements are based on a single configuration too, so two different set ups for measuring headphones could yield different responses
measurements are random and inaccurate
how headphones render sound per person is random and inaccurate
Stax cans are trash

poorfag "objectivists" who have only used a few pairs of headphones amuse me

the worst are the ones who finally scrape together enough to buy headphones and they choose some subpar garbage like audeze instead of based stax

you meant focal clears right?
do you really like distorted and inaccurate stax?

you're right the fecal clear is even worse than audeze, at least audezes don't start crackling at 75dB

lmao I've been there. I bought LCD2C thinking I was doing something

A fair number of the stax owners in this thread upgraded from audezes, no shame in that

Now hold up, you're accurate to the test dummy microphone, just not accurate to every individual. This is still going to tell you things like when a headphone has audible resonances or in the case of Stax, nobass because you can measure LFE for nominal hearing.

I dont get this stax has no bass meme.

it's retards using unsealed lambdas

I plugged my stax into my phone earlier (so no EQ) and it was flat linear bass

Even the unsealed stax should have audible bass, right?

idk maybe I should go snap on my stock pads. iirc it sounds like HD600 sub bass without seal

Nerdling stop samefagging. Shilling this chinkshit to autists will no longer be your career once Edifier closes STAX.

There's a reason nobody engages with the chimps spouting lies, they've all been debunked six million times yet they keep on whining about "muh nobass" or "muh marvey shitgraphs".

kys

Let us know if you do! I want to know why stax decided to port all lambdas.

worst general on all of 4channel
low IQ posters, low IQ fighting and arguments

nerdling....

Are the HD 6XX any good?

Attached: 11_20170707124908.jpg (955x637, 50K)

I've only been a stax owner for about two months now, but I don't think L700 is ported. the pad seals very well to the point it is difficult to install.

there are two little arrows you have to line up or the seal is broken.

no, they sound like distored no bass stax with the details of a pair of Indian IEM's

they aren't bad unless you listen to music with a lot of sub bass

Hmmm I might be wrong here but I thought I read somewhere that all modern lambdas are ported.

They're on the same tier as STAX: no bass and very cheap plastic build.

I'm thinking about buying those big wooden cupped headphone just because they look cool -- is it worth it? Also, what headphones am I thinking of (I forget the name)?

all I know is that the instructions for my pads specified a direction for seal and the tape sealed L300 had the same bass as with L700 pads and no tape

it does the whole crinkle thing and everything. if these are ported and have linear bass then I am impressed

ZMF or Fostex?

Somehow I feel like I haven't heard of the ZMF -- thanks for that. After searching for a bit, I found what I was thinking of: audeze lcd. Not sure which model to go with yet.

Attached: maxresdefault (1).jpg (1280x720, 90K)

if you can, try them first rather than buying them solely on their appearance

Maybe some user who is more knowledgeable can chime in here. I haven't demoed the new lambdas yet.

Wasn't the floor poster banned? Why the fuck is he spamming again?

ZMF are custom order but Audeze is more of a mass market. You shiuld be able to find a LCD in a headphone store.

>EQ'd 650 at 101/100

Congratulations this is officially the most autistic general in all of 4channel

it's been the most autistic since forever

>You shiuld be able to find a LCD in a headphone store.
Yes; it looks like the Needle Doctor is an authorized retailer -- maybe they'll have them. Please don't stalk me ;_;
>m1060c
Neat. Is the open version of this the poor man's LCD?

Attached: 16050_01.png (1600x620, 295K)

Best headphone: Sennheiser HD600.
Best IEM: Etymotic Research ER4SR.
Best speakers: JBL M2.

Loli flat response = best response.

the open version is a worse version of the 1060c's
you can mod the closed back ones to make them open, and they sound pretty good
despite what some autistic dudes here will say, they're better than hd600's and any hifiman shit
they have awful build quality, and need mods to be great

M1060 is literally a chinese copy of audeze and is shit like every planar

Yeah planars/stats really get beaten by good dynamic headphones like hd600/hd800 these days.

>stats
nice try fag

excuse me i only listen to lil b you peasant

well duh, no one here actually owns headphones

X2/27 owners, I found this in case any of you wish for an easier way to get new pads.

You're still alive? yikes.

surprised you havent died from the earcancer your redditphones gave you, or at the very least from the fumes of the glue used for the earpads

My ear pads don't have glue kid ;) Shouldn't you be drooling over stax you can't afford now?

Your time has come, Maalis

I'm poorfag so i bought superlux hd660 cause i couldn't afford dt770 pro beyers, they've got alright bass and scene for a price and there are no problems with sound when cranking up the volume
roast me or tell me i did good

So basically decent bass, somewhat neutral mids, and a little on the brighter side, and some decent soundstage?
