Why do ANYTHING? Why breathe? What's the meaning of life? Why does it matter to you what other people do with their time? If you feel like trying it, try it.

I personally game on Linux for the sole reason that I hate Windows. I'm jaded by it, and I can't stand it. I use nothing but Kubuntu on my gaming HTPC, my laptop, and my rig at work. I understand that *some* games will work better (or just work, period) on Windows. My hatred for Windows outweighs my need for those games. If you hate Xbox, and you love Playstation, you play the games available on your platform.

For some weird reason, I enjoy interacting with my computer when it runs Linux. My whole computing experience is better. Gaming is more satisfying because of the knowledge of what's happening behind the scenes. I'm having fun. Isn't that the most important thing?

having a beard doesn't immediately make you a basedboy user

It just werks. Well, you beat in some drums and then it just werks, maybe.
