i have a 2014 retina mbp and, yeah, it isn't that good (input output is the first shitty thing) but it isn't even that bad, just buy decent powered usb3 hub and you're good.
Also windows 7 was nice, 8 was okish, 10 is just pure crap and this is the main reason i paid 600eur for a used ultrabook (came from an x230 i still have, my girlfriend loves it and stole it and she comes from a 15" mac)
i'm not in the price range where i can complain, 2000eur for a new almost base model is another story, price to performance is just laughable.
