Yes, I worked in customer service for FedEx and also ordered some packages through them, for most non-sensitive materials the default is no signature required.
However, every international shipment has to request a signature by default, unless the sender specifies no signature

Shopping on AliExpress. Why might a product that lists having an ETA of 29 days on the product page jump to 30-50 when placed in my cart? I've found the same product on multiple pages with different vendors and shipping options listed, but they all do the same thing when added to my cart. What gives?
