I am working on it - my current goal is to deadlift 2x bodyweight by end of april. Admittedly I look morel iek a strongman than a gymnast and Jow Forums is only for twink faggotry.

My shoulders are so fucking broad for my height combined with a...lets say solid amount of body fat means I look like a tiny strongman. It doesn't help that my lifting sessions aren't as long as I like but i'm not training for anything (i'm just doing it for fun) so whatever.

For reference measuring my shoulders all the way around (so looping around) is 55" last time I checked.

I exercise so I have the most energy possible as the main reason, I hate getting tired from working on projects.
One more thing, I saw a brain scan before and after exercising, that shows you have significantly less brain power if you haven't got your blood pumping that day. It seems beneficial in every way, but you NEED a good strong diet to achieve this without being really fatigued. So it takes 6-8 months of forcing habits to get into it.

Exercise can help you focus and think clearer and shit. Also life is just so much easier when you're not fat. Stuff feels lighter, walking is easier etc., the difference is actually pretty huge.

I'm serious. I'm not even sure "health and longevity" is an argument for the Jow Forums style of lifting, considering it relies on massive amounts of meat protein which may cause heart disease and exercises like deadlifts and squats which have a non-trivial chance of fucking up your back.

In find deadlifting the msot practical excercise to do (along with general cardio) because for most people the need for strnegth in day to day life is in the form of a dead lift. Helping to move (say) a couch requires the sort of strength a deadlift builds.

I do walk, run, bicycle, etc. But no gym, gym with the goal of getting fit means a lot of pain, I tried it, and I just felt like paying to suffer. Fuck that, I'm happy with myself.
I'm not sure how it works for fat people, my case is the exact opposite, I'm 1.70m 55Kg, look anorexic, but I have a healthy diet (meat, vegetables, fruits, cereals, milk) I avoid junk food like the plague (once or twice a month at worst), mostly because it used to affect me negatively in other respects (heart pain, acné) and makes me feel greasy.
So other than being stronger for myself which could be good, what other reason is there to bother? I work with computers anyway.
