What happened with blackbox for Windows and such? Seems it died out years ago.

Just put this on dwm's config.h

I then used slstatus to output the actual text, it supports unicode glyphs just fine.

i was using it up until a few years back on win7, doesnt help that customize.org went down which had a plethora of themes, cthu1u is a guy i remember who made good themes for it.

Literally nothing wrong with it as an OS if you actually know what you're doing. Hell, I've seen people say it's "impossible" to turn off the new updates system (it's not, it's literally just a few lines to change in a reg file). Half the people here using Linux probably have no idea why or how their distro works, and are using almost entirely other people's work for their programs.

If you know what you're doing, then use whatever OS you want. But if you're just installing Linux because Jow Forums has a hard-on for Stallman without knowing a single thing about how computers work, you should neck yourself, especially if it costs you productivity in the name of "freedom". Running screenfetch on your babby's first distro with an anime background doesn't mean you know what you're doing, it means you're a sheep.

2008 made linux default OS
by 2009 I reverted back to windows
2011 made linux default OS
2013 Reverted back to windows
2014 made linux default operating system
windows only ever used for games
