FOSS isn't a zero sum game. I have no idea why people on Jow Forums think that. On my windows install, I try my best to use FOSS programs (firefox,, qbittorrent, libreoffice, gimp, etc) and buy hardware that supports linux fairly well (like AMD GPUs).

bought a t440p to replace a 2011 mbp, just to realize later that the only things that i hated on the macbook were overheating and glossy screen, tried to put the thing on sale but people didn´t wanted it because it wasnt running the latest osx shit sierra or capitan, a matte screen protector and a drill press to open holes on the aluminum back cover were all i needed, the only use i have for thinkpad now i running old games like doom or gta sa. and i also had to buy a new keyboard for the thinkpad because a month later the one that came with it started to fail (fucked flex cable)
TLDR; i fell for the consumerist upgrade even if not needed meme. fuck you enjoy the view .

My MSI GTX 1060 6 gig started making noises, so while trying to fix the noise, one of the wires from the molex adapter came out. I didn't think of double checking where the wires belong and guessed where they belong. After that the wire went up in smoke and realised I had connected the wire to the wrong place rip 140USD. A year ago I bought a Thinkpad T4xx from ebay.

Was searching how to remove the bios password and tried one of the possible solutions. It involved touching a specific chip with something like a screwdriver. Failed a few times but was able to do it eventually. While failing the few times, I must have fucked something up because the battery wouldn't charge anymore.

Bought a new battery but it still didn't charge. Got fed up so I sold everything for $30 more than it was worth on craigslist. Got my money and bought some hot cheetos after that.
