Wtf is this second CPU? Please ignore the first CPU, I really like thermal paste.

Tenko with a Tenkopad!
what system board is that?

x230, non-tablet.

>second CPU
the current state of Jow Forums

it's the PCH, retard

the second cpu was accidentally included in your model by the manufacturer, you should keep quiet or else they'll charge you extra

What's that?

Why not both?

Is 1080p screen upgrade worth it on T430?
Any particular chink you're recommend for parts?

Just opened up my X200. I have several questions.. sorry if they're dumb.
a) what goes in the space above the WLAN card? .. I know X200 can't have mSATA SSDs.
b) I have a third antenna lying next to the two that are connected to the WLAN card (pic related) and I also don't have a webcam, so does that mean I could buy a 3x3 WLAN card and get way fast speeds?
c) can an X200 use an X220 keyboard, even if the trackpoint buttons won't fit in the palmrest? .. the connector looks very similar.
d) best WLAN card upgrade for X200?

Attached: 20190222_205327.jpg (3264x2448, 1.87M)

Any other Lenovo models that carries a eDP 14-inch FHD display? I've bought 3 panels off ebay and they all came broken. I got my money back though. I'm thinking of just buying some sort of FHD ideapad in the local market, taking off the screen, putting my 768p in place and selling the laptop off. What do you think?

A) Intel Turbo memory. Totally not worth to use
B) you could get a 5300 agn to use all 3 antennas, or flash a custom BIOS of you want to install a newer card.
C) Intel 7260

Is there a working perks code right now?

does esata power a hdd well enough, or will I need to get one with an extra usb cable?

a) I thought the Turbo Memory slot was on the other mPCIe connector, underneath the power button?
b&d) how about a flash and an Atheros QCA9880?

Fuck, then the wwan card goes in that slot instead.
And yeah, a 9880 should do the job.

>what goes in the space above the WLAN card?
wwan card
or also some other random shit like mpcie to usb adapter, broadcom hardware h264 decoder, mpcie to microsd adapter

>wwan
so if my X200 didn't come with a WWAN system, the antenna leads for it just won't be present? my X230 never had WWAN but it still had blue and red antenna connectors. strange.

>d) best WLAN card upgrade for X200?
this:
ebay.com/itm/Mikrotik-R11e-5HacT-High-Power-Triple-Chain-miniPCI-e-card-MMCX-connectors/183516309008

>so if my X200 didn't come with a WWAN system, the antenna leads for it just won't be present?
I think that varies by version or serial number.
My X61t didn't came with wwan and didn't have the wwan antennas, however the t420, x220t, t430, t520 and t440p all came without wwan but had the wwan antennas.
WWAN is sort of obsolete nowadays with tethering on smartphones anyway.

I am fucking retarded.
I replaced the DVD drive bit I forgot to put the little plastic piece that locks into the hatch.
Thanks anyway.

Chinkshit thread is here:

this is /tpg/

>or also some other random shit like mpcie to usb adapter, broadcom hardware h264 decoder, mpcie to microsd adapter

never heard this shit was possible, that's sweet.. would it be better to get a mPCIe to USB and then get an 802.11ac USB WLAN adapter?

I bought this T420 today

Say something nice about her

Attached: s-l1600.jpg (1600x1066, 182K)

why would you want a usb port inside your laptop

Redundant.

T430 FHD IPS upgrade is definitely worth it. The stock display has horrible viewing angles.

I bought from the seller e-qstore on eBay. The only issue I had with the kit is the placement they have it in the guide is under the keyboard in the center, and it caused the keyboard to bulge. On my laptop without the dGPU, I just stuck it where the dGPU was and fixed the problem.

It's definitely worth the upgrade. Also, make sure you get an authentic B140HAN01.3 and not one of the reproduction ones.

Looking to buy my first Thinkpad. Going to be gutting HDD and solely using Tails with Libreboot. Is the x200 the way to go?

You could plug a wireless receiver for a mouse or something in it

but bluetooth mice are a thing and even old thinkpads have bluetooth
maybe one of those tiny usb drives with "decent" speed and install a linux distro on it or something

Idk there's probably some advantage. Bluetooth probably has more of an impact on battery life.

very cute :3

>second CPU

sorry to burst your bubble or anyone else who wanted to roast this absolute mad lad, but that's a fucking backup ram controller

Attached: 1519865967539.jpg (480x638, 32K)

bois make the best thinkpads

Attached: im gay.jpg (1200x1600, 1.74M)

Wasn't aware but at the moment it does not matter any more. Thanks for the info anyway.

it seems easier to find a good, fast USB 802.11ac adapter than an mPCIe one. I suppose another option is mPCIe to M.2 adapter

So, I rescued Lenovo ThinkPad E330 from my sister.
It has Pentium Incel CPU. Where can I get Core i5 Chips compatible with this mobo?

>E
triple dubs were wasted on this.

Those aren't tripple dubs, just like E-series Thinkpads aren't real Thinkpads.
But still, where can I get CPU?

I'm thinking of getting a t530 from think pad depot, are they as reputable and worth it as they seem to be?

Also, where can I get "Jow Forums certified toaster" sticker?

It uses Ivy Bridge, check ebay for a cheap i5. Probably will not run a quad but a multithreaded dual core (which is every Ivy Bridge i5) will be a breath of fresh air. Also maybe make sure the E330 CPU is socketed instead of soldered before seeking that upgrade.

patchdynamics but they are sold out

>Don't buy anything OTHER THAN IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad
yeah no thx gonna stick with dell and hp

So, any IvyBridge Core i5 CPU should work.
Yes, it unironically has socket, which is weird, considering that this is third-world spec laptop.

ebay.com/itm/Intel-Core-i5-3380M-SR0X7-2-90GHz-Dual-Core-Socket-G2-CPU-Processor/142824394840
Not bad

But what about i7s?

I mean, it is not official CPU option. Will it work?

Attached: 1550898425322.png (435x295, 218K)

Dual-core i7's have a little more cache but that's about it, i7-3520m would be around $45.

Quad-core i7's might work but are significantly more expensive, i7-3612qm is at least $100 right now.

Why I'm wasting dubs? I feel bad now...
youtube.com/watch?v=rarKTUNLCPs
Looks like shit will work with 4core CPU... Should I go full retard?

And what about Sandy Bridge i7s... They are dirt cheap on Ali..

fucks sake man, why are you reposting unfunny cancer?

sl510 for $20 minus hdd a good price?

just get a T510 and save yourself the trouble

30 laptops for $600
$20 a piece.

I accidentally.

I didassembled ChinkPad E330, and metal frame, that was holding LCD is broken, just like in early MacBooks...
Lol.

So, how do I repair broken metal?

Lenovo has this deal up on their site for a T480:
>lenovo.com/ca/en/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpad-t-series/ThinkPad-T480/p/20L5S1S000

It's $949, savings being 48%. Is it worth it??

Specs
>i5-8250U (1.60GHz)
>14.0" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS anti-glare (no touch :( )
>8 GB DDR4 2400MHz
>512 GB Solid State Drive, PCIe-NVME OPAL2.0 M.2
>UHD 620 Integrated graphics (not discrete :( )
>3 cell Li-Ion 24Wh battery

It would look decent to me, were it not for the lack of a dGPU and a touch screen (hate me if you must)

Might as well buy the Apple Macbook Pro with Retina Display.

>T410
>intel core i5 2.67 Ghz
>4 gb
>320 HDD
>100$
Seems to be in good condition, except battery. Should I pull the trigger?

Attached: Screen Shot 2019-02-23 at 13.51.26.png (934x700, 754K)

FRENDA IS SO EROCUTE.

What's the deal with 51nb these days? Are they planning on any new mods or similar? Are the old boards still available to buy?

T440p or T450?

depends

t450s is better than the t450 though

DO NOT GET A FUCKING THINKPAD E485/E585
THIS SHIT IS PRACTICALLY FUCKING INCOMPATIABLE WITH LINUX ON A FIRMWARE LEVEL

Is there any thinkpads with 15" display, classic keyboard and a numpad?

who cares
lunix is for obese neet neckbeards and/or trannies

lmao why would you install trannix on a Windows business laptop???

1 INR has been sent to your local loo

1 INR has been sent to your local loo

Cute Patche, you need to get SICP for her to read though.

That doesn't sound too bad though I don't know how those are usually priced where you live.

Stop samefagging and install Gentoo.

x201 cutest cutepad

Attached: 1550919359133540.jpg (1740x2320, 1.87M)

go for it, grab a chink 9 cell

>chink battery
Are they good? Anons here always say that they are trash

I get between 3-5 hours, for the price of an OEM 9 cell you can buy like 4 chink ones

What's on that USB stick? Hopefully nothing too lewd...

clonezilla or super grub disk 2, had to get a new ssd because my other one kept corrupting tonnes of packages

Could any anons gief some input please?

Hard to say but you could always try the "magic code", unplug everything and
>push the power button 10 times in a row at one second intervals. Next, you push and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
After that try starting it up, it's possible that your circuit is fucked though.

Just seen lcdfans has a few remaining x210 for sale... very tempted to message and see the cost

can you ask kek, i want one but wont have money until april hoping theres still some available then

Will do, thanks.
I pmed him about the latest gen x63 - $500 for the motherboard. I'm hesitant since I can't stand long wait times, and I received no ETA

wouldn't kernel 4.19 work just fine on it? I could put cloveros on an a485 is if I bothered to buy one.

It's an issue with the motherboard firmware, not the kernel (tested it on my other computer). The IVRS table is fucked up and you need to specifically change it in the grub file. That's according to the forums, but I still haven't been able to get mine to work.

Closest thing would be an A31p with the ultrabay numpad.

What does the classic keyboard feel like? I keep hearing about how great it is, but I'd imagine it to be just any other membrane keyboard. Is that really it?

Attached: 1524886921115.jpg (1024x768, 153K)

well the feel is just like a membrane keyboard I guess but the genius is not in the feel it's in the layout because it's so similiar to a desktop keyboard so if you're used to a desktop switching to a thinkpad it's seemless unlike other laptops where you have to adjust to the laptop keyboard
