the desktop is cluttered up but i usually know where im going with kb shortcuts and start+programName
my brain basically filters out the entire desktop icons anyway so it doesnt even matter if i delete them all, they're already not there (minus recycle bin)
i never got these low requirement DEs
they are so clunky and feel like they are being held together with glue. for me? its gnome. runs at fucking 24 frames per second but it feels stable minus the broken calendar (use thunderbird instead)

This makes me want to die but I will show it. I think this was in my senior year in high school after I had built my first gaymen PC. I always bought shitty game packs that gave you a bunch of no-name indie shit, and had a bunch of other stuff as well, and was excited because I could literally install every game I owned onto my fancy new 2TB drive. I had every shortcut on my desktop, and organized them meticulously. I rediscovered this when I found a video I had took of my cat playing with my mouse cursor.

Thanks, I remember putting a ton of work into it at the time hand editing config files for gtk. There's a lot the pic doesn't show like getting the spacing right in certain apps like gcalctool. I had to do an app by app run through for it all to look right. Probably should have uploaded it. Fun times but it ran its course.
