Who is hype for the next generation of AR?
Hololens 2 thread
They are making it fucking worse, they should make it smaller
Sure they make it more accurate and better quality for creators who could actually use it professionally, but for a consumer it's useless
There is something behind the head on the leaks
so, where is the first one?
This is Hololens 1, they're actually degressing in terms of compactability
>implying the military cares about it being thicker if it works better
youtube.com
came out in 2015
Uh? What do you mean? Don't you use one to shitpost in bed?
Comfy
>implying the military doesn't have their own version that's years ahead but behind contracts so MS can't sell them to civilians
not needing any monitors anymore sound like a fucking dream. where do I get one of these and what programs do I need. Also must be usable with linux (debian)
too bad. The main applications for AR are helping workers do maintenance and pick things in warehouses.
Can I install gentoo on it?
You need about one thousand fiddy USD
on virtual machine
i know it exists but i've never heard it was released to a consumer audience.
I don't think it's for consumer. It's still cost a lot
Nah, it only supports LFS.

Waifu unrelated
>edge
>Waifu unrelated
Sure, but sauce though?
>3DPD
>"""waifu"""
How do i get a gf like this?
Just post the youtube link youtube.com
Be rich.
You should watch those chinese dating shows, there are some commentary videos on youtube. Not even rich commie insider babies who can literally have commoners executed can get the girls. Unless you're physically AND mentally a chad you have no chance until they're old and busted and looking to "settle down"
Handtracking?
I bet reading books on this thing fucks up your eyes, though.
why would they be mad about this? Would you rather china or russia have holo lens for their soldiers first?
Stream starts. Prepare to have expectations way too big and to be underwhelmed.
>720p
>2019
Not like Microsoft isn't the valued company in the world or anything
>automatic subtitles with errors
I bet he speaks so slowly to not fuck up the subtitles in the background.
>computing in my coffee ?
>woman
i'm triggered
> impossibru technological breakthroughs!
how long is the stream? I'm just there for hololens
>Security
>from the Xbox team
ahahahahahahaha
Microsofts own stream is about 1 minute behind
>kinect lol
LOL Kinect!
>Because Version 1 was so successful
is it still 720p?
Botnet camera
are there more than 2 persons in this thread ? i am 1
it's time
AR time
This Kinect is for professional market. Believe it or not, there are uses for good 3D scanners, and that's what Kinect does. Skeletal pose tracking was most only their gaming gimmick.
i am you replying to myself so no
Hololens 2 will have a kinect camera
It's obvious now
>Microsoft invented Magic
30 year old virgin confirmed
The way this guy talks is straight out of Silicon Valley
>will take microsoft private @ 0.0001. Funding secured
And nothing of value was presented. Have nice girl instead.
Looks like they fixed the FoV
What about the field of view retard
>double the field of view
drop the mic
Double FOV. If not Banana x FOV !
>memes display
I will feel immersed if i feel my dick squeezed by the thick hologram thot. not before.
>eyes tracking
>hand tracking
>AI
>Double the field of view
it will cost 6000 sheckels
First Hololens was 35 degrees. So more than 70 now. Probably 80 which would be bare minimum. 90 at best.
Oculus is around 90ish despite them claiming higher.
>Scanning all 70 genders. Diversification secured
> a woman again
triggered x2
>3 TIMES THE COMFORT
Wow I wonder how they calculated that!
Carbon fiber.
>Making it unneccessary expensive
Occulus is VR not AR
in comfort units
>that lag
hopefully that's just the camera set up
Leap motion did this hand tracking shit years ago and better.
My seat has bout 6 to 7 comforts if not 8 pleb
No shit? Just using that to an idea of the FoV.
Give me Sexy Beach AR 2019
>and better.
No. I have one and isn't that refined. For $30 it's pretty good though.
The girl is as intelligent as an ape. shes able to press buttons
In Soviet Russia, Hologramm touches YOU
HARDER
BETTER
FASTER
STRONGER
I was just thinking, that app is like one of those baby toys with all the colorful buttons on it.
Girl is a cute though
>roadtovr.com
How is it not that good? Looks more refined than what was shown in this stream.
$3500
Won´t buy that for my imaginary buisness
Can you punch?
Why does it fell all scripted and robotic
>I always wanted to transform to a cringe japanese cgi. Best day of my life
>he doesnt know
Thought you were talking about the device itself. Haven't tried their latest prototypes. If it's based on Orion then I doubt it's better though.
Probably because the Leap is plugged into a PC for the rendering part.
I am shitposting so much i cant see anything they present. I make all this shit up!
>$3,500
>CPU: Qualcomm Snapdragon 850 Compute Platform and second generation custom-built Holographic Processing Unit.
>DISPLAY: Equivalent of a 2k display for each eye, creating 47 pixels per degree -- what Microsoft says is often called a "retina" display -- with a 52 degree field of view. (The original HoloLens had the equivalent of a 720 display for each eye, at a 30 degree field of view.)
>AUDIO INPUT: 5 channel microphone array.
>AUDIO OUTPUT: Built-in "spatial audio."
>CONNECTIVITY: USB Type-C, 802.11ac 2x2, no cellular connectivity.
>WEIGHT: 566 grams or 1.25 pounds. (The original HoloLens weighed 579 grams, or 1.28 pounds.)
>BATTERY LIFE: About three hours.
Who would even use this?
>BATTERY LIFE: About three hours.
Completely fucking useless.
>BATTERY LIFE: About three hours.
wait
what's the fucking point
>literal brainlet
You'll be charging it between sessions and it's not designed for all-day use, right now anyway. It's not great but it should be viable enough.
>smartphones are dead
>3 hours battery life
ebin
And I doubt Hololens 2 is better if at all in hand tracking either.
Maybe, but this is an enterprise product with no excuse not to use expensive custom chips designed just to offload "rendering" the hand tracking to.
Real life elder scrolls with immersed quests and enemys when?
it seems viable for desk job types but I don't know about blue collars that they appear to be marketing to
but I'm just a NEET so I wouldn't know
>you die in the game you die in real life
Its pretty cool honestly.
AR is definitely going to be a bigger market than VR.
