Pic related, I remember thinking the 3.2 inch screen was pretty big at the time(lol).
Post your first Android phone

LG P350 Optimus Me.
Still works.
Samsung Intercept
MyTouch 3g
Nexus 4
Still using it.
why?
Droid Eris. It was pretty awesome for the time, trackball and all. Now of course it's hilariously underpowered, but hardware-wise it was well built.
I used that launcher for a little while, came with a custom ROM.
Me too on Virgin Mobile. It was $169.99 which was really cheap at the time. I bought it September 2011.
old phones were hideous
I miss the fuck out of htc's late 00s/early 10s aesthetic
HTC Evo 4G
Still have it in its box.
This.
The GOAT of phones
I loved this phone, It was designed very well and I loved being able to use custom ROMs with it.
I don't have it anymore though.
I then got a Moto Jow Forums gen 1, my favorite phone ever
Acer A100
Say what you will, but holy shit this thing's drag to text functionality was fucking godly. You could miss like 3 letters in a word and it would still know what you were trying to spell.
I'd post a pic but it was some cheap Samsung entry level phone I can't remember.
Never had one
Samsung Galaxy Pocket neo
gosh I miss this little bastard, when 1200mah battery would last me days and I kept a spare in my wallet to swap incase I needed
Gigabyte Gsmart Roma R2 Plus
Shit phone, chink stuff, but it worked
HTC Vivid. Everything about it sucked gigantic moose balls and I fucking hated it.
HTC DNA was my first Android after an OG iPhone. All those early Androids were a pain in the ass, but the audio on this was pretty good for a phone at the time. I had it for like a year before I bought another and eBay'd it...got more for the Beats earbuds than I did the phone.
I also remember coming to Jow Forums back then and asking for opinions on what droid to get and I got yelled at by some autists because I didn't know that all Androids weren't Droids. Those were the days.
HTC Wildfire S
Note 3 is the first one that I actually owned and used
I was so late to the game that it was truly mindblowing. It could do so much when compared to the other stuff I'd used (small older iphone, symbian stuff).
I FUCKING LOVED PHYSICAL KEYBOARDS!
Fuck touch screen keyboards.
Samsung moment. Having that touchpad clicky button was essential for web browsing since you could use that thing to highlight anything you could click on.
HTC G1
bought it from a Chinese restaurant waitress after tracking it down on Craigslist
I stil believe this was highest android ever reached. It was sad to see how my htc desire waa becoming slower and slower as apps were getting heavier and heavier with animations and no optimisations...
This. Got slow but what made me switch was the USB port fucking up and refusing to charge.
Moto Jow Forums 2014
Still using it, I don't need more.
This one. It was alright for some time, played music well, was basically using Samsung's Android 2.3 all the time, installed few small but cool games to play into it, but eventually it started to lag even after attempt of rooting it. Got it because I wanted a smartphone like my mom's (which was black version) because it looked cool and it was a new tech to me when I was 15, but dad got me girly one, and everyone in school called me gay for that. 2 years later got Galaxy S3, which was a bit better, but still shit. It was really weird times then. I feel guilty for using anything Samsug.
Sony Ericsson Xperia X8
Same here, and came from an iPhone as well. I miss it, I have a Note 8 now and it's a nice device but the aspect ratio makes so much less sense than the Note 3's did.
Moto G1, battery started dying recently.
Still rockin it with a custom rom. Works great.
It was the original Galaxy Tab. Before that I used a hand-me-down tiny Motorola slide phone. After the Galaxy Tab, I got an Xperia X10 Mini Pro.
Galaxy ace was a terrible terrible phone. I had one, and I hated using it so much. It had 128 mb of internal memory, most of which was taken by the OS, so I could not install more than like 3 apps. And keep in mind that it was released almost at the same time as Nexus 4. It's genuinely the worst piece of technology I ever owned.
Alcatel OT 903. It was pretty bad, I eventually got a Moto G2 and then a Moto G5 which is my current phone.
ZTE blade
Had a Sony Ericsson w800i dumbphone before that
I wanted this, my carrier only had GT-I9100 S2
Not bad though
What happened to HTC? I don't see any new phones from them nowadays
Whoa I have the same!
Upgraded to gingerbread cyanogenmod since stock was froyo
It was failed to be a phones, its microphone is just too quiet. Use that for a few days and I need to buy a new one.
THL W200 that was brought after that working fine though.
It was shit.
Not an android phone but my first experience using android was on a Samsung Omnia using the andromnia rom.
Droid X, very good and ergonomic phone
Android apps really never worked well with a 320x240 screen.
Acer Liquid Metal
you now remember the time sony toasted all competition in budget phones segment
A3(2017).
I used to be the iToddler but I got tired of being constantly BTFO.
Got it last January. Does the job, but you seriously need an external battery if you ever intend on watching videos or keeping the screen on for more than 30 minutes every day.
Same.
Used the Samsung Galaxy Mini for like 4 years before finally switching to Galaxy Trend.
Surprisingly durable and lengthy standby time for such a cheap phone.
The battery on this thing is INSANE. I have one, too.
Came here to post this. This phone was GOAT, except for the annoying proprietary charger. It was ahead of it's time for excluding a headphone jack.
How big is the screen? Two inches?
I hope you won't really try to watch videos on it, I'm pretty sure I've made my vision worse by watching videos on my Siemens phone shared with Bluetooth.
2.45"
And yes, you're not supposed to watch a whole movie with it, but hey, it's possible! It's not underpowered at least.
LG Optimus L7 II P710
Got it in 2014 after years using a Nokia C3, wich I still have it
i want to know this too?they used to be bretty good
Samsung Galaxy Spica
Android 1.5... Good times
Not him, but new phones offer nothing attractive and costs like a GPU.
b&rp Moto Defy. Came with 2.3 or something, upgraded it up to 4.1
xperia sola. Running android gingerbread
Bought it in 2011. The guy who sold me it, told me that it was of the best phones out there back in the day. What a fucking liar.
It bricked two years ago, but the screen is still intact. I even was able to install Lollipop on it, and it somewhat worked.
HTC Hero. Pre-ordered it back in 2009, I remember having to wait a few months due to supply issues.
>novathor processor
fuck this shit to hell
Google Nexus S
This thing was amazing, I loved it. My favorite feature was the screen off animation.
youtu.be
It's interesting to see how things that were state of the art not that long ago now look like 90s PDAs compared to modern smartphones.
pic related was mine, a cheap, weak thing even compared to it's own time.
the best
Put MIUI on the HTC HD2. Now I use a Xiaomi phone with Lineage kek.
HTC got snuffed out by Apple's and Samsung's much higher marketing budgets causing their demise in 2012. A few years later, most of their R&D team got bought by Google.
Sad because HTC's devices had a very premium feel due to the use of aluminum unibody shells compared to the competing Galaxy's plastic everything. I really liked my One M7 but I think every HTC device after the One M8 was downhill from there.
Motorola atrix
I had the same shit, it was pretty good until I botched the power button while replacing the screen
also my first smartphone
lasted me a solid 3 years
Galaxy Ace. Was given as a Christmas gift. Flashed CyanogenMod (Jellybean back then) after hearing from a friend and didn't look back.
Galaxy S i9000
>1GHz ARM Cortex-A8, overclockable up to 1.6GHz
>512MB RAM
>5MP 720p camera
>1500mAh battery
Pic related was my first one. Samsung Galaxy s advance
Based. Got this after my first one was stolen. I still remember watching anime on it.
Got this a looong ass time ago,
Upgraded two years ago to htc sesire 650 omg it was anazing
Typing on a 3inch screen was hard i tell ya,
However the dedicated music button was cash
And it could play radio...without headphones needed, chad phone
Probably this? I don’t even jnow
HTC Desire S
>tfw I'm only on my second and last smartphone
It was my first smart phone and even though I have fond memories of it I must have not liked it even at the time because I switched to a regular phone after using it for less than a year and only started using smart phones again 3-4 years later.
Are you me?
I loved to put ROMs on this thing then OC it to ~720mhz. It was much more capable than phones in its price range, destroying all the X8s then.
Xperia Neo
Still have it around, it runs Android 7.1.2, although badly
It world okay as a Boinc machine, kinda fast for it's age, the shell it's quite broken and I'm thinking about replacing it
Had blackberry till about 2014, first android moto g 4g 1st gen
htc evo 4g. was great up until the touch screen stopped responding
You just posted, i miss him :'(
he thick
