I need to study my Chinese harder.

I also made an attempt to read it. I've been trying to learn Mandarin Chinese for a year and still can't read even basic shit. I have respect for countries where kids are fluent in 5 different languages by the age of 10.

My method of not succeeding has been 3 months of 2 lesson per day on Duolingo and listening to local chinese radio stations on the way to and from work. What's yours, user?

Its stupidly easy to pick up a language when you're a kid though, I wish my school pushed other languages harder literally every country in the world know their native language and English and in england we only know English. Makes me feel like a brainlet

almost exact same for me. Duolingo and Chinese podcasts.
The language itself isn't hard, it has almost the same syntax as English. The difficulty is getting exposure to the thousands of characters.
The best way to learn is probably to speak to a native, but that isn't easy.

My primary did French but barely any, I did French and Spanish at secondary but decided not to do them for GCSE. Even the people who took GCSE where nowhere near capable of actually speaking the languages. I payed for a Japanese course at some college for a bit and learnt more of a language there in about 4 months a than I ever did from 5 or so years of languages at school
