>Having more than 2 cores in The Year Of Our Lord 2019
Good goy

imagine giving a shit about how many cores you have when your speed is still shit

Actually it's not that bad desu. 90% of vidya out there literally cannot efficiently use more than 2-4 cores. On average a stock i7-7700K is only 4% slower than an OC'd i9-9900K despite having hald the cores.

It's holding on .... it's holding on ...

In the current year. What will vidya look like once the next generation of consoles launches?

8 thread cpus are fine but 4 core 4 threads falls flat on its face.

>running just a game
I can't count the number of times I've needed more cores due to having projects, browsers, and other various tasks running on the side while I game. It's not always about the individual task. This is coming from a guy with an i7-4790k.

Lots of sour grapes from Shintel users

who are these semen demons?

Hello gamer

Mark my words, gaymen is only going to get worse as they start making games in javascript with a team of 100 pajeets.

Valid point but if you really need that much multi-tasking headroom then a 16-core threadripper split up into 4 VMs is still better.

poor froggy

Is it true that girls can tell when a guy only has 4 cores?

Attached: chain_chomp_what.jpg (500x403, 49K)

That's exactly what I decided on in 2018 for muh Gentoo. Do you even use Linux?

Just going to grab a 12 core Zen 2 part when they're out. No need to throw $1500 at a system upgrade when I can get stuff better suited to my tasks for around $650-700. These figures include mobo and RAM.

>consider buying 2700X
>only 10% higher performance per thread than your eight years old 2500K
What's going on with CPUs?

mine has 2 cores and never goes beyond 30% usage...

just go for RISC-V you idiot

Nobody is telling you the truth: ryzen suffers performance loss from shitty RAM. With good low latency RAM it actually has 5% HIGHER single threaded performance of a coffeelake processor. This is why it performs 95% as good as an i7-8700K despite having ~500MHz lower clocks.

Still good.

Only time I need more cores is when rendering and that’s less than 5% of my usage.

based.

My 4690k bottlenecked me years ago, don't delude yourself

It literally is. Were you so blinded by jewish tricks you can't see the truth right before your eyes?

Ok. Show me non-cherrypicked proof.
Oh wait, you can't.

My coffee lake core i3 is pretty sufficient. If anything the rx590 is the one getting tasked.

no issue here

youtube.com/watch?v=PHBsR1Y68G8

I'm curious what makes this cherry picked? Ryzen's infinity fabric is affected by RAM speed and timings, that's why you see 25% jump in FPS when going from 2133 CL18 to 3400 CL14.

so what will you use the other 7 cores for?
You realise a home users rig at most needs 2 cores, right because you get two virtual cores as well. 8 core cpu's are for servers where they are using a high degree of virtualisation and possibly for use in grids and supercomputers

>2 single core CPUs with no hardware vulnerabilities/speedholes in 2019

Ibm?

>1.4V
>GTX 1080
>still trailing 7700k in most cases
>Expensive AF RAM, assuming your motherboard can even run it at XMP.
Yikes dude. I didn't think they were that far behind, even with your high speed memory.

The point is spending $200 on RAM instead of $100 with ryzen means you get 95% the performance of an i7-8700K which requires a $200+ tripple fan AIO.

Is spending hundreds more in cooling and electricity bill honestly REALLY worth it for 5% higher FPS?

Too add to this. The people I know who've bought Ryzen, or who I meet have it at default. They don't change to XMP, or higher RAM speeds so they're running at 2,133mhz, and buying 2,400Mhz RAM.

>95% the performance of an 8700k

I can wait till next year for a full 7nm build.

Attached: .png (862x759, 51K)

Nope, we've known about this since first batch of zen, why do you think a 3400 CL14 2x8 RAM kit is $100 extra compared to a 2133 CL18 2x8 RAM kit?

The only ones who throw in the cheapest RAM possible are 200GE/2200Gfags or those who bought ryzen solely for an efficient 8-core processor (R7 1700 for example only consumes 45W at ~3.0 GHz).

>2600
Oh well at least you tried. A for effort.

who plays a game like far cry over 60 or 75 fps?

There are people who don't overclock K series intel processor too.

Hmmm then explain

>3000Mhz 16gb CL15 is ~$225 AUD
>3600Mhz 16gb CL16 is ~$380
>can't even buy CL16 3400 in AU

I'd be more impressed if it was a Ryzen 7 machine.

Underrated dubspost

I don't want AMD.

My pity.

stay cucked, trannyfaggot

Mine is currently paired with a Titan XP

get back to containment

As long as those cores are running anywhere near 3.2+ gigglehearts you got a fine cpu on your hands that can still play games at 1080p.

See x3470/80 for less than 10$

1080ti is too hard for Ryzen, that's not fair, pair it with something more it's speed like a gtx 1660ti

How much better is the Single core performance of a 2700x vs a 2600?

isn't that Win 7 ram limit?

Nice.

113 °C in software is very mich on the edge of safe temperatures.

In a perfect world all software would take advantage of 4+ cores, but outside of some production software and a handful of videogames we're years away from that.

Fuck you, you faggots recommended me the fucking Ryzen 2200G/2400G.

Threadlet corelet stutter cope

absolute mongoloid

No problem with it. I still use a E5450

>Au
Try buying in a real currency, not funny outback Monopoly dollars.

Not bios disabling cores down to single core to get a making tdp

5ghz single core is more than enough for 99% of games and creative apps.

You have to be a youtuber or a architect or work in Hollywood to need more than 1 core get woke

For browsing maybe lmoa
