why would anyone buy anything other than the $100 dollar ryzen 3?
doubling the price to 200 gives you only 2 additional cores

>why would anyone buy anything other than the 100$ RyZen 3?
Modern gaymen. Modern emulators that have Vulkan support. Streaming and playing at the same time. HEAVY MEGATASKING.

>3600x

Fix3d your mistake

>$200 8 cores
>$110 6 cores
can't decide.

I'd take a 3700x and never upgrade my cpu again. Cores AND clocks makes it an easy choice for me.

I'm pretty sure cats are smart enough to use the vocative comma.
Correct: "Nothing to see here, human.".

That 3600g will kill the low mid segment of gpus

Depends on your everyday use case/habits.
If you only gaymen strictly at PC titles in single player and don't stream, you can go with 3300/G just fine. If you're a heavy emulation geek - 3600G/X. If you're a power gaymer - 3600X~3700X. If you're a Twitch/YouTube whore that constantly streams single player and multi/MMO shit alike in raw 4K maxed with highest bitrate with no compression at all - 3800~3850X or THREADRIPPER.

Attached: 1543448512572.jpg (1200x1553, 390K)

It'll be in 98.82% of all non-Pi strictly-only-for-emulation HTPC and mini-ITX builds in 8~14 months from now. Just you see. Screen this, Jow Forumsuyse.

it will certainly be in most "slightly richer than a poorfag" builds

>Cores AND clocks makes it
Notice the TDP in relation to that. My 2600K OC'ed to 4.4GHz on all cores currently consumes roughly 130W when 100% loaded.

To think that I could sell my 6500 Skylake and 480 4gb and get that apu plus leftover for a bottle of whiskey and still be able to play everything I'm interested in. This year is gonna be gud.

>slightly richer than a poorfag
So, in other words, literally ANYONE who has ANY paid job WHATSOEVER. Got it.

Don't you wanna install Gentoo? 16 threads for compiling is gonna be glorious.

I already have a sff system (11 liters case) with a dedicated gpu and a 2600X, but the 3600G makes me want to build a emulation/older games machine for the living room on one of these.

newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16856158064

Could anyone explain the time table, please?

Does it mean the cpus with integrated cpus will come out sooner?

What about motherboards?

Almost I'm an intel-baby, how do AMD cpus without a igpu work? There are vga and hdmi ports on motherboard. What if I'll plug in a monitor into these while using a igpu-less cpu? I'm not a gaymer so integrated graphics suffice most of the time until I'm rendering and manually plug in a GPU.

Will windows 7 (and eventually my netbsd) work on these new motherboards?

Yeah I hope. What am I going to do with my 750ti if the amd igpu will be stronger than my dedicated gpu?

Attached: AMD-CPU-7nm-Zen-2-Roadmap.png (958x477, 57K)

We've already had THREADRIPPER and THREADRIPPER 2 for that for roughly 2 years now. But they're weak on PPC/SCP. Notice the clocks and IPC gains from moving to 7nm. Now imagine the upcoming THREADRIPPER Mark III. Compiling so fast you wouldn't even be able to even think of trying to shitpost-troll on Jow Forums by typing in "but MUH segfaults".

Igpus are stronger than the 750ti since the years or so.

holy fuck AMD this is unprecedented antisemitism

>if the AMD's APU will be stronger than my dedicated noVideo GayPoo
>750 Ti
>if
I have news for you, kiddo: 2400G's integrated video already BTFOs 750 Ti and been doing so for months. 3600G's video is at least x2 times more powerful.

105w TDP is nothing. I hope my C6H gets support for it as its more than capable of handling 105w and my trusty dual tower cooler is good for best part of 300w.

Since 2400G.
2200G still loses to it in some gaymen (no all, though), but 2400G completely BTFOs the 750Ti.

there's no way this can be real. Intel is leaking fake numbers on their behalf so we're all let down.

You should always remember that AMD's TDP is actual legitimate TDP, though. Unlike Inturd's LYING BULLSHIT pseudo-TDP numbers that are WAAAAAY worse than what they usually write on those spec sheets for their garbage housefire Fukushima CPoos.

Huge if true

Will they retain the infinity fabric? Will I still be able to go ham on RAM?

Attached: 1500416404595.gif (139x211, 371K)

Yeah, I kmow. My trusty silver arrow has cooled a 4.7ghz 8 core vishera chip before - I know how to handle nuclear reactors. The (relatively) large surface area of zen2 - based on the what Dr Su has shown - means itsl ikely to avoid the problem of heat density that plagues Intel's current chips.

Steve, please.

just think of the cheap as fuck servers you can build

Feels like fake. All APUs have so far been a generation behind, and what we know about 3000 series so far it feels far more realistic that the 16 core parts would be released under WX branding and lower clocks.

Attached: o0800080012624273867.png (800x800, 667K)

If you're putting a full-sized discrete video that requires PSU connection (instead of a one-slot/short GPU that powers strictly only from PCI-e, or at the very least an APU) and a CPU that consumes more than 95W/outputs heat that can't be handled by Cryorig's C7 or Noctua's NH-L9X65, you clearly don't understand the purpose of SFF and how to do it well/correct/right.

they need it for chiplets to not be a huge bottleneck

where are the threadripper leaks

Attached: Lisa Su threadripper.jpg (1757x1129, 177K)

the scotsman does it again

I use a 120mm aio on my sg13 which keeps the 2600x cool in blender and video encoding workloads with a 1060 6gb and at home I use it as my main computer and sometimes as my vidya machine on the living room. Also I use it to travel between Spain, Ireland and the states. So, it just works for me.

what did he mean by this?

Attached: 1541918737934.png (806x577, 61K)

Threadripper is gong to be way behind given it had the most recent zen+ release.

Obviously it's there. That's the whole purpose. The main change is that gen1 and Zen+ could only do up to 4 cores per 1 CCX, thus cross-interconnect latency was a noticeable problem. With Zen 2, they're now doing up to 8 cores on one full CCX, which essentially completely eliminates the previous latency strides. And even cross-interconnect latency between two CCXes, hence 12 and 16 core models, is now lowered/improved drastically. So-much-so that, essentially, a 16 core with two CCXes will now have a latency BETTER than Zen+ had in a 24 core triple CCX THREADRIPPER 2, while at the same time 24 core THREADRIPPER Mark III will have latency on the level of mainstream like 8 core 2700X (maybe even better, actually). And for 8 core (and anything below that) Zen 2, there's virtually no cross-interconnect added latency anymore AT ALL, due to it all being one single super-tight CCX package.

based 12yo fortnight gaymer, tell those AMD's how things are!

pajeets at it again

Well, he's right about Radeon VII. Eight cores will quickly become the norm for gaming with the release of next generation consoles in what I suspect will be less than two years though, so future-proofing now will pay off later. Also there's a lot of Intlet cope in that post. Consoles already all use AMD CPUs, soon so will Apple, Intel is bleeding marketshare.

>AIO
Yep, you've been confirmed for completely missing on the entire point of SFF's existence.

Enlighten me then

Will replace my 2500k if true, but I take it with a fistful of salt for now

>soon so will Apple
Apple is supposed to use their own ARM chips inside their next laptop iterations BUT would be a great achievement when Apple exclusivly use AMD APU's for 2019's lineup when performance and power consumption works out

based intel chad telling ayymd virgins to fuck off

same here. the implications if those leaks, prices, clocks are real is fucking insane. but thats just low margin mainstream space. just imagine what EBYN2 will do to Intel

Bet he bought a 9900k

>when you realize Scottsman is Lisa in disguise

Super small, very well performing, lightweight enough to be perfectly portable, AND being efficient enough to not require big air coolers OR any water whatsoever, while ALSO being near-silent enough, all in same package. THAT is PROPER SFF. You've basically missed/failed on almost all of these fields, mang.

>Hey Boss, we can save a lot of money by switching to AMD CPUs
>What's the catch?
>We can't do VM live migration, must have some downtime
>Fuck, just keep using Intel

>that 3600G
That's going to be an insane mini build

kek

This is literally BS, though. A shitton of large and serious businesses already dropped Inturd in favor of EPBYNC and are moving to Zen in masses. Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure, for example.

Should I be switching teams bros. I have had my i7 8700 for just over a year and this looks awfully compelling.

Literally bamboozled.avi, lel.

It's just my guess but maybe those big companies simply built new server farms with amd chips then maybe demolished the intel ones later. It doesn't have to be "shut down current server, install new ones, start up new server".

But I can transport it with me no problem and it's under 20liters (11.5) which is the definition of sff, you are just adding your own extra requisites to the definition, which is fine, to each is own and like I said I do plan to build a sub 4 liters setup with the 3600g for shit and giggles. But for me my setup works, like I said I do travel with it no problem. And the setup it's under 30db at idle and 35~db while doing cpu workloads, only hits 40db while gayming or using the gpu heavily in blender but that's because my 1060 it's a shit model with a mediocre cooler but it doesn't bother me.

A daily reminder 8700K performs roughly in a +/- 2% field of 2700X (a margin of error) and gets absolutely BTFO'd by it in serious productivity/heavy multitasking, all while Zen+'s mainstream 8 core offering being much more efficient and quite a bit cheaper, AND fully backwards and forwards compatible throughout the entirety of the AM4 platform's chipset line.

Yes, but that's only partially the case. Some did undergo downtime.

Attached: 1482703568817.png (300x350, 27K)

Reminder that during the previous gen, the 1700x performed more or less the same as the 7700k unless you wanted 9000 frames for no real reason, the zen 1 chip absolutely BTFO'd the intel one if you wanted to stream your gaming over the internet.

I wouldn't honestly. Zen2 CPU would be a great drop-in upgrade but I don't think it's justified to get an entire new platform just for it, especially since I doubt you're having any performance issues on 8700. That is unless you really need those 8 cores, then it might make sense to get 3600X and some midrange board instead of using a ton of money on an i9.

Read the comments, ALL THAT COPE

By including the AIO alone, it's already not a proper SFF. Please, understand. Correctly built SFF is ALWAYS so efficient that it needs only small and tight air coolers like C7, or a downright FULLY PASSIVE block of metal in some cases. And video ALWAYS needs to be either directly from CPU, or AT THE VERY LEAST the GPU should be one-slot, short, AND powered only from PCI-e. This is the RIGHT way to do this. If you're adding full-sized GPU that requires 6-pin or 8-pin, a non-SFX (or even smaller) PSU, and ANY cooler that's larger/louder than C7 or passive metal block - you're doing it WRONG and it's NOT real proper SFF.

>salt = the post

Ah ok you are just baiting me, fuck why do I always fail for it.

>5.1 GHz
>16 cores
Fake.

WCCF's comment section is literally Jow Forums's /b/ of mainstream normie internet.

Nice non-argumentation, kid. I get it. You're mad and angry now, and you don't wish to become a better human being. That's fine. Stay the clueless normie idiot that you are by trying on putting a Vega VII in Ncase M1 and routing AIO/FCWCL to it, or whatever.

as said it's not much of an upgrade unless you buy the 12c or even 16c (assuming the leaks are spot on). even then...well your cpu will be enough till DDR5 is meainstream (and cheap)

>Literally says "unofficial roadmap"
>Could anyone explain

Attached: Licker.jpg (2000x2000, 560K)

If you think thats an all core turbo you might be retarded user. 5.1ghz will be single core turbo.

im currently sitting on a 3570k and i really see no reason to upgrade till DDR5 comes out
