720p,1080p,1440p,4k Im planing on buying a 2080 duke paired with a 2700x i have a 32 inch 720p tv at the moment hooked up to a xbox, no pc yet Choosing a monitor has been harder then choosing the guts of the pc I will have limited space so im thinking of going down to a 27inch but its hard to visualise the size difference even went into a store but those big stores can make even a 55inch look significantly smaller then what it would in my house so that was no help, va,tn,ips is another conundrum, i hear ips is the best but isnt without issues, so putting a tn and ips next to eachother and sitting straight on to each individually how big a difference will it be besides a few hundred dollerydoos, resolutions coming from 720p im pretty sure any of them will blow me away, im looking at a $200 ips for 1080p and 4k $400 28 inch which i feel abit more comfortable with that extra inch but its tn and i see tn get shit on endlessly, for 1440p i have no idea, but if i go that road i would get the high hz monitors but lgs ultragear is the onlyone that caught my attention and wont be out until the end of the year, on a side note i can't justify an extra $600 for the feature
David Lewis
Monitors 27 and over look fuck when you’re sitting in front of them, to the point where you’re kind of looking around the screen to take it all in. That is why e’sport’ faggots use a 24 normally, they can see everything without hunting. As you’re used to a tv it is probably going to surprise you how much a 27 fills your view when straight in front of it. Try and get 144hz and 1ms response time in either a good vn or ips panel at 1440p, moving to 4K will probably only get you 60hz (which means you’re limited to 60 fps). I have the same gpu and got a 144hz 1ms van panel and it is great. Don’t buy anything too cheap either, there is still such a thing as panel quality so don’t only look at on paper specs.
Benjamin Jenkins
Was supposed to say ‘fucking huge’
Jacob Price
Also for the record tn is fine, it is mainly good for speed and low input lag, the trade off is colour is often not as good.
Dylan Myers
Is single fan recommended for rtx 2060 or are the temps too high?
Gonna buy this for my low-end gaming PC: >R5 2600 cpu >Gigabyte 1060 6G gpu >ASUS B350-PLUS mboard >2x samsung M378A1K43BB2-CRC ram >mandatory 240 gb ssd (SanDisk SDSSDA-240G-G26) I expect it to cost about $850. Any suggestions for improvement?
Jacob Garcia
i'd throw in a 1-2tb hard drive for storing games. 240gb ssd just simply isn't going to cut it for more than 2-3 AAA games.
Wyatt Taylor
When is the stock fan appropriate to use? I plan on picking up the R5 2600 and it comes with the Wraith Stealth, just wondering if its fine to use it as I dont plan on overclocking or anything like that, I just want my PC to be silent as possible. Cheers.
Yeah the stock fan should be fine even for some light overclocking.
Parker Reyes
Thanks user, i will shell out abit more for the monitor, too bad all va panels are meme curved, only time i see curved being alright is mabye on an ultra wide, saw a 27 curved at the store and i dont think i would get used to it, might get a 4k, never used a high refresh monitor so i guess the deciding question is will 144hz equal or beat 4ks high detail I like the screen on the larger side, it feels more immersive
Acer Nitro XV273KP 27in IPS UHD HDR400 144Hz Freesync Monitor Havnt checked gsync compatibility on it but this would be both worlds in one, i have a huge library of older games that should hit that 144hz mark, i dont know tho, i could get a 55inch 4k tv for that sort of money size>resolution>144hz i feel Damn it back to the drawing board
Lincoln Foster
If you need it as silent as possible without overclocking then a simple All in One watercooling solution will work wonders. Something simple like corsair's cheapo H60 is noticeably more quiet than air cooled cpu fans, especially if you spring for a pwm noctua fan or something instead of going with the included one.
Levi Bailey
of fuck i forgot about hdd, yeah it's listed, i think i'll take WD10EZEX, if it matters
Jayden Anderson
Monitors are definitely more expensive than TV's, but that's because they're used for different purposes and have different standards. Nobody cares about response time on a TV, after all.
Henry Smith
True point, im sure colour accuracy will be alot better too The acer it is, if it will run nvidia
David Watson
also don't forget that most TV manufacturers (as an example Samsung, mostly for their cheapest models) tweak brightness too fucking high, so it would break 1-2 years after your warranty exceeds. If you ever gonna buy a cheap TV, make sure to install additional resistor (1-1.15 Om, see model specifics) on the diode belt to lower the brightness for 20%, it would make your TV's life a lot longer
David Flores
Fuck. Too bad it's a TN panel
Jeremiah Moore
Might be more of a SQT, but my system is making a short hissing sound, does not sound like fan whine when under specific loads.
Its always two "ssscchh...schhhh" noises and then nothing. Is this a capacitor fucking up? Specs: r5-1600 rx-580 ssds PSU is a 550watt TX550m Components all about a year and a half old.
Mason Wright
>IPS even being capable of a 1MS gtg for sub 1k modern TNs arent even that bad, i dont get this meme.
Luis Morgan
Making a new build with an ASUS ROG Strix X470-I mobo in an NZXT h200. Issue is it appears the mobo only supports 3 fan headers, i assume one is for cpu fan? If so what would be the best config for the remaining two fans? One in back and just one in front and no top? or would getting a splitter like this be the best option to be able to fun all the fans?
>R7 2700/X or i9 9900K - VM Work / Streaming / Video editing Aren't they too different in EVERY parameter?
Bentley Ramirez
Current i5 6600K might be going down soon. Is it worth getting an R5 2600 with a decent board until Zen 2 comes out then switching to one of those or should I try going with my 6600K until it stops working completely?
David Ortiz
>buying anything acer i dont know what you expected
Ryder Sanders
its honestly that noise and its fucking weird, im kind of spooked as I still cant figure out what the fuck is happening. its not any of the fans I was able to unplug
Caleb Fisher
Hey i'm looking to get a new GPU and monitor for dmc5, looking for a 144hx monitor and I was thinking about getting a gtx 2060.
1440p and 144hz would be nice I'm not looking to run everything on ultra graphics just at least medium to high, would a 2060 be okay for this?
Do I need to buy a g sync monitor if I was getting a Nvidia card or can I get a free sync one?
I'm slowly upgrading my computer as my motherboard is from around 2010:
I'm looking for an excuse to justify an Optane 900p because it comes with a spaceship for Star Citizen. If you could buy one for effectively $100, would you?
My build if it matters: >Ryzen 7 2700x >1080ti >16gb ram (soon to be bumped to 32gb) >current SSD is a Crucial MX500
Jace Sanders
It's caused by coils in capacitors, literally a non-issue apart from how annoying it can be. It most likely comes from your CPU vcore capacitors or your GPU capacitors as those frequently ramp up and down in operating frequency depending on workload
Lincoln Allen
You can get a freesync one but you have to do your research on the monitor model as some brands like Samsung or LG, include freesync as an afterthought and are poorly implemented
Henry White
Just to add on, adaptive sync is awesome for high frame rate gaming. You can have an fps of 30-144 on a gsync and have a smooth gameplay experience, which is all that really matters. A rtx 2060 may not handle all titles (especially new AAAs) at 1440p 144hz but adaptive sync will compensate for that fact and give a good experience either way.
Kayden Evans
That is re-assuring, thanks. It was just odd that it seemed to only happen recently, but maybe I am just noticing it now.
Lucas Parker
how about you buy WD or Sandisk and then buy better starship directly with saved cash?
Gavin Smith
Just look up coil whine on Google. It's something that many people have to live with due to how common of an occurrence it is.
Hunter King
I was aware of what coil whine is but I guess i assumed it was more continuous and not this weird short burst shit as I've been lucky enough to never have to deal with it.
Do not buy shitty cheap AIOs. You can get significantly better mid-high end air cooler for the same price.
Camden Rivera
no. gsync is proprietary. amd cards cannot utilize the gsync module for adaptive sync the way nvidia cards can
Josiah Thomas
AIOs that are not 280mm or 360mm are a meme. Stick with air cooling
Jacob Parker
Looks like a decent deal as long as it really comes with no dead pixels.
Samuel Hughes
What's a good tower cooler that is
Ryder Morris
Should put the RTX Titan included if you've got more money than you know what to do with. It does perform better than a 2080 Ti if $2400 means nothing to you. Which it does to people who have high networth.
Wyatt James
Le Grand Macho RT is 1-2 degrees cooler than the NH-D15 while also being slightly quieter, the Dark Rock Pro 4 is more quieter but a about 1 degrees hotter than the NH-D15. Noctua is the easiest to install.
Currently looking at monitors I'm thinking about going for the Dell s2719dgf I know it's a TN panel but I've heard good things, is there any better monitors out there than this?
Bentley Bell
Or the nitro vg270upbmiipx it's an ips monitor, ahhh choosing a monitor is so hard!
Jose Myers
I would swap it to something like this if you are only gaming. >RX 570 8GB >Any cheap Lga 1151 6th-7th Gen Intel Motherboard >Used i7 7700-6700 >Any 2133mhz+ RAM >SSD 240gb for a 512GB >Add any 2 TB brand new HDD either Hitachi or WD
Jackson Brooks
i got a budget of 500 dollars. should i go with a higher end 2060 or get a low-end 2070 for 1080p240hz?
Juan Miller
>want to replace 1070 >all 20xx cards except 2080ti are 8gb
Should I just wait until the next generation? 8gb feels like it'll start bottlenecking in just a couple years since some games are starting to hit that already.
Kayden Russell
quit trolling
Daniel Cook
2070 because why not Unless the 2070 is too low end. Like single fan and tiny heatsink.
Justin Nguyen
Late reply but I don't know. I used to have it overclocked to 4.5ghz with a decent cooler. One day it started BSOD-ing so I downclocked it to 4.3 and now I'm basically at 3.9ghz before BSOD
Charles Walker
Replace the termal paste between the chip and IHS.
Lincoln Lee
2200G
Jayden Mitchell
Where did you guys buy windows 10?
Andrew Perry
made my own usb installer, then bought a key from hrkgames
Julian Moore
hwidgen
Owen Cook
had win7 from .edu address then got a free upgrade to 10
Zachary Parker
I actually did that, but the temps didn't change and I still can't OC over 3.9ghz. It ran at 70C at most at 4.5ghz
Nicholas Smith
Which 2080 should i buy for my 1440p/144hz monitor?
Kayden Fisher
>arent even that bad that isn't good enough
Jayden Martin
cheapest well known brand.
Jose Peterson
anything apart from windforce/armor
Nathan Adams
I'm planning on getting a new computer this week , i already a GPU so its around the 500/600 € mark.
I'm torn betwen the Intel Core i5-7500 or the Ryzen 5 2600.
I mainly play, Path of exile i would like to see how's the performance with a ryzen on that game if anyone here is kindly enough to tell me.
Benjamin Clark
Forgot to say the GPU is a 1060 SC (3GB)
Camden Gray
Ryzen 2600 is a meme get i5 8400
Anthony Cox
It gets to 4ghz with the boost right? i was gonna combo it with the GA-Z270P-D3 and the 1060 SC
Josiah Bell
I5 8400 is better for gaming difference in fps is huge especialy for ac odysse
David Nguyen
Damn! What did you do, put a shit ton excessive voltage through it for years and cause accelerated chip degradation?
Jackson Johnson
Its really strange. I had Windows 8 preinstalled and just installed Windows 10 pro with the media tool. Didn't need a key. I wonder if its only a trial version.
James Cook
windows 8 and 7 users got windows 10 for free as an upgrade for a while when Microsoft was trying to get as many people on 10 as possible.
James Edwards
I thought that was only until 2016 or something like that.
Austin Watson
I'm going to clone a ssd windows 7 from the old system to the new one. The old system uses 4790k, the new system uses 9900k and a new motherboard. I'm not going to do a clean install I will do a clone of the SSD, will it be okay if I just uninstall the USB and network adapter drivers and have the new system install its compatable ones?
James Morales
I think the most I have ever put on it was under 1.3v
Ayden Ortiz
check your motherboard VRMS and powersupply. Also your memory.
Ethan Lopez
I have 10 fans on my micro form case (2x 120s on both sides on front mounted radiator for push/pull intake, 2x 120s on bottom for intake, 2x 80s out the back for exhaust, 2x 120s on top for exhaust) Is that enough???
If you're talking about the r5 2600 then remember that only some of them can go up to 4ghz. It all depends how lucky you are with the bin lottery. Some golden chips achieve 4.2ghz with no problems. Some barely go above 3.9ghz and others can't even manage stable 3.85ghz. Ryzen 2600 is a great value offer but manage your expectations. If you only game and both the i5 8400 and r5 2600 are the same price then go with Intel. If not, and in the vast majority of cases in the vast majority of countries AMD is cheaper than get the 2600. Most games are GPU limited so saving a little money here and there can bump you to the next GPU tier.
