So is this actually worth anything or did I waste 4 years of my life? What do you think Jow Forums?

All depends on you user. Do you have a passion for CS? what do you want to get into now? What were your internships like? Where are you applying?
just like becoming a lawyer, you could wind up chasing abluances and doing slip and falls or if things go just right- paying off hookers for the President of the United States of America
>Jill Wyatt has been appointed the chair of the University of Calgary
Congratulations you are certified one-single-step ahead of a high school graduate
You still won't get an industry job without a personal recommendation. Good luck.
places care more about proven experience and references than a piece of paper. the paper is just so you get past HR and looks good if you want a promotion.

also maybe he learned something about Computer Science
that might help too
>last thread gets deleted

Fuck off, leaf

i bet you not
there are people getting hired to google straight out of coding camps without degrees just because they proven themselves with other projects.

and?
No Passion no internships. College ruined any passion. I hate cs. I have technology. I hate the idea of working to advance this shit awful industry . But I need $$$ to live.
Where can I get a job
>Where can I get a job
You had four years to figure that out, precious.
like what do you want to do user? you know how a computer works and what needs to be done, do you want to fix printers or do web dev
get into sales or something idk
hey at least you actually got a degree now, good shit user
Friendly reminder that if you got your degree over 6 months ago and have had no work experience since then, it's basically worthless.
Do you at least have any personal projects in CS? If you have absolutely nothing, it will be hard to find a job.
If you are passionate, enjoy to program, build things and have personal projects, you can get away without internships. I pretty much took this route and found two jobs fairly quickly out of college.
School and work are totally different worlds, keep that in mind.
I'm in my 30s, and have held around half a dozen 'serious' positions with companies. Not once has anyone ever asked me to prove I went to university, which is great, because I lied on my CV.
bsc isn't worth jack shit, you need a phd minimum with 10 active projects on github to get a decent job today
>ALUs work differently now than 6 months ago
This is so fucking wrong. Just be involved in programming projects and enjoy what you do. That is it, everything else stems from that.
why blob out calgary?
This.
OP, if this is actually yours, don't fucking go into infosec. You're awful at it.
>mister Anderson
>agent smith
checked
kek me too. noone checks. if you prove urself in interviews u know wtf u doing, nobody cares to follow up and check ur bachelors degree in CS
>Canada
Of course you did unless you move out of that shithole, Keith.
I seriously hope you got at least an internship when you were a sophomore or at most at junior because even a CCfag that lurks Jow Forums will BTFO you because he got an internship even before getting into the main major courses.
Last resort would be your college's career center if your shithole does have it.
>doxxing himself for upcummies
why
I work at a large corporation. No one can skip the process. If i recommend someone they need to do the phone screens and interviews like anyone else. A recommendation would at best just ensure your initial application just get pushed to the next step.
