I run Linux with KDE on a Core2 craptop and it works just fine. I doubt you've even used Linux at all. This is just sour grapes posting because someone made fun of you for being a wintoddler.

Windows is for laptop and desktop, so it's normal.

Linux mint with cinnamon here on a i3 ivy bridge @2.4ghz, works perfect.

Gen 4 cpu's like that were weaker than the gen 3 ivy bridge in the attempt for better battery life.
