i agree, MIUI is disgusting. what's the cleanest AOSP-based ROM i can install? currently using AOSiP on my rn5 pro.

>not using FlyMe OS instead
那好吧????

Free Tibet.

I like it, fite me

it's fast as fuck, learn to dns block your botnet faggot

posp is pretty comfy potatoproject.co/

AOSP is no less fast and you don't have to block a botnet on your own device.

t. Xiaomi owner

first time i heard about it. is it any better than the alternatives like Lineage? in which way?

it's the stock that comes with most xaiomi phones

Xiaomi phones don't come with potato

MIUI9 was actually good but in 10 they have broken the volume control and it's full of chinese spyware.

If I have twrp can I flash this without a PC?

>he
>his

I've just started using a pocophone, any recommendations on setting it up?

LineageOS on mine

Sorry but I'm a productive person with a job who needs access to banking apps and all that jazz that needs you to have a locked bootloader and no root.

It is okay

Attached: Screenshot_2019-03-10-01-27-39-285_com.miui.home.png (1080x2280, 1.45M)

Of all the shitty skins from manufacturers, MIUI at least isn't too drastic of a change from stock. I can see the appeal of both. There are definitely worse system skins out there. I find MIUI and the apps bundled consistent in design and appealing.

>Sorry but I'm a productive person with a job who needs access to banking apps and all that jazz that needs you to have a locked bootloader and no root.

This, miui it just works unlike shitty pajeetmade rom. For xiaomi user don't even bother to use custom rom except some unusable older xiaomi with a 1gib ram.

Definitely my biggest complain is that third party app icons are square, and if you change the stock launcher for something like pixel launcher, it messes almost all icons to some legacy shit, like it was on ice cream sandwiche

I don't mind MIUI, it does what I want it to do.

t. Poco Owner.

Although the UI is snap and comfy

Forgot to mention the gesture based controls are just the best. This is my first Xiaomi, I must admit, I like it. It's a Mi 8 lite.

Chinese can design for shit and seem to lose concentration while producing any software... but MIUI is probably the least inconsistent, least buggy software with the best presentation and documentation out of China that I have ever seen. It's not even literally with typing/spelling abominations.
So apart from the spyware, any legitimate hate?

Attached: Screenshot_2019-03-10-01-38-46-806_com.android.settings.png (1080x2280, 133K)

errything in a box, dat fuq?

I'm white but okay

Question is, will they support a ubiquitous dark mode when android 10 intends to provide full dark mode (instead of this win10 level inconsistency shit they're pulling atm)

bs right?

miui already have a dark mode, check some mi 9 reviews.
But as someone with a lcd screen i dont really care atm

There are some hints of it with latest beta builds if you enable it in the developer settings. Whether it will be a comprehensive theme to dark we'll have to see.

download a random android pie theme and apply only the icons, then use whatever the fuck icons you want on your launcher of choice and that's it. The fallback will always be the icons from the theme you applied.
Also get rid of the retarded bottom bar and use the gestures, that's one of the only redeeming features of using MIUI.

sopa de macaco uma delicia

UMA DELICIA

Anyway, MIUI is ok, even good. The only reason to hate it is spyware, but, honestly, as if fucking Google wasn't spyware too.

Also bloat I guess, but it's fairly easy to debloat it.

Yes, but try and have a backup on sd card

>download a random android pie theme and apply **only the icons**

You're a fucking life saver user

mate, where do you got this theme? default miui theme app??

>miui daemon
>msa
>analytics
these apps are present on miui by default
so no mi for me

square > circle shit
you're a fucking moron

Yeah they do, it's pretty impressive desu. You have to enable developer settings, and they call it "Night Mode". Took me a while to find, but it's good, would recommend.

Works for me, disabled google shizz and not using most default apps, as far as I can go without rooting. Haven't updated for a long time, will not update until my phone locks me up and updates itself by force. So yeah works well.

Attached: Screenshot_2019-03-10-11-53-19-683_com.miui.home.png (720x1440, 536K)

You don't. You need one app and you need to enable magisk hide for your banking app. So hard.
youtu.be/BsHtfLh6azw
When even a paid shill and a pseudo tech enthusiast like Linus can do it, everyone can.

lol look

>For xiaomi user don't even bother to use custom rom except some unusable older xiaomi with a 1gib ram.
Why? So you can send as much telemetry as possible to God knows who? So you can have your OS take more space?

>So apart from the spyware, any legitimate hate?
How is this not a legitimate reason enough? Also, it will stop getting updated after two or three years, so there's that too.

One only go so far without rooting. The default apps have ads, the file manager, the cleaner and they have added something called Facebook app manager which holds daily Sabbath's with the Zucc I don't even have Facebook installed, only instabram occasionally.

Still fine I can just hammer it with an actual brick in case it starts making robot noises in the middle of the night.

Just like all non-AOSP ROMs it has janky animations, it slows down over time and it's bloated as fuck. As bad as Samsung and Huawei. In addition its battery saving measures delay notifications, a problem that persisted for years now, also it will throttle the fuck out of CPU once the battery goes below 5% without any way to disable it. Even if you ignore the spyware it's unusable. LOS is pretty much mandatory for xiaomi devices.

why dont you unistall them if they are pooprietary trash

instabrams zucced whats your point

Since MIUI 9 you can't uninstall these apps. I've disabled all other Google apps like Movies Play Books etc. But can't get rid of them without root. I had a redmi 2 prime which had older MIUI so I actually got rid of most google garbage.

even through root or adb?

It's zuccd alright but I like taking photos I share them occasionally on instashill.

No no, you can do it with root and adb. I don't have the interest or time of going through all the trouble.

Few of the apps from F-Droid that I use.

I have a Mi A1 with stock android (android one).

Depends what you're coming from. I went from a HTC M8 to a Poco and the ui hit me like a sack of bricks, it felt godawful.

But with some improvements overtime and a launcher it's tolerable.

>The only reason to hate it is spyware, but, honestly, as if fucking Google wasn't spyware too.
Good thing microG exists.

I bought this thing to run LOS and I'm not disappointed. All hardware works out of the box and it got day 1 official 16.0 builds. It's far and beyond the best LOS/CyanogenMod phone I've owned. I don't understand why you'd run MIUI on this.

Attached: Screenshot_20190310-201707_Settings.png (1080x2160, 142K)

To be honest, stock Android is boring, MIUI has much better usability.

>stock Android is boring
That's why you use Resurrection Remix or similar ROMs.

>Redmi 5 plus is probably never getting updates.
Fuck it, does anyone know flashing guides for it?

I have cheeseburger, what's the non pajeet rom that is trustable? I am on default oxygenos beta

You're finally awake, there's official LOS available for it since 2017.

I'm too lazy to back up everything and install a ROM
what's the best one for redmi note 4 anyways

Fucking install Poco launcher if you really like the icons so much. God damn it, the lack of a drawer triggers my autism.

LOS is a pajeet ROM

Attached: 919.png (501x445, 205K)

You can't do it since MIUI8.

I am, its pretty comfy and I'm not autistic enough to try to cut myself completely from the botnet.
Cause if you do your phone you gotta do everything.

Sent from a Mi8 SE

>and I'm not autistic enough to try to cut myself completely from the botnet.
>Cause if you do your phone you gotta do everything
What the fuck?

Ki jatah!

I have my redmi 2 prime still on MIUI 7. Hasn't slowed down at all.

Google is everywhere, and if it's not Google that'll get your data it's someone else and even more probably both.
If you're dedicated enough not to want the botnet on your phone, then you gotta do it on every machine you use.
Thanks but no

Even Linus can do it and he's as "normal" as everyone else. And it's even simpler than what he does in the video, instead of flashing gapps you install two apps for microG to function afterwards. Wow, how insanely difficult and autistic.

Ok now Google doesn't have direct access to your phone data. How about your PC now? How about everything you use daily that is not Google but still collects your data?
Do you see how pointless that is? You either go full autist or it's not worth it cause you're getting data mined from somewhere anyway

My device maintainer isn't pajeet. Pretty sure most aren't. Also, from what I can tell, most LOS devs dislike XDA, which is great. You won't find a more professional AOSP fork than Lineage.

>You either go full autist or it's not worth it cause you're getting data mined from somewhere anyway
So you might as well give in and give anyone any private data they desire just because? Great reasoning. Surely this can't be a security risk, no, that never happens. And what's even more retarded is being complacent when more and more privacy conscious solutions for just about everything are on the rise.

Even if you don't get rid of the Google botnet, you should still get rid of the Chinese botnet. There's no reason not to.
