Why don't you use OpenBSD?
Why don't you use OpenBSD?
I have an SSD
>Why don't you use OpenBSD?
Who the fuck told you that I dont?
The cia
Why don't you use OpenSSD
Because I'm not a cuck.
Im pretty sure the CIA knows I use OpenBSD as my router
can't do shit on it
I was but I got a new monitor that my desktop can't handle and am currently using my HTPC/NAS as my desktop, so I need to be able to read Btrfs and XFS partitions
I use it on any machine where I don't need graphics drivers.

IT'S HAPPENING
Wifi, bbswitch, luks
1) it's unix
2) it's very traditional unix tht haven't moved from global system configuration yet
3) avid use of obsolete defective technologies such as shellscript based init and makefile based build system
4) single filesystem, not even good
5) non-atomic actions and no rollback, bad backup solutions
6) lack of software support such as sanitizers or erlang VM
7) bad remote update solution
now the contrarian reasons
8) poor and lacking documentation, often having to end up reading codebase to get any sense of implementations design
9) poor security culture, mistakes happen too often, insufficient auditing and testing to consider it trusted codebase
I appreciate a few things they do, e.g. the new ROP widgets research is interesting, actually shipping and applying them instead of Linux-like patches being available somewhere in a forgotten place without anyone ever applying them and when they do, it breaks everything because it's not tested. Few user-space utilities are also nice such as sndio, httpd, relayd.
It's yesterdays news. Wintendo, MacOS and Linux are leaving BSD's in their dust.
>3) avid use of obsolete defective technologies such as shellscript based init and makefile based build system
most retarded statement that I've read today
Has pornview been ported to open bsd yet?
>8) poor and lacking documentation, often having to end up reading codebase to get any sense of implementations design
Watch out! This guy actually used OBSD!
secure by default goes out the window when you have to make it do anything
also no extended access control
I want to listen to my bluetooth headset and I care about my ssd.
No support for my desktop HW, slow, cucked license. Good for my firewall but not much else.
>9) poor security culture, mistakes happen too often, insufficient auditing and testing to consider it trusted codebase
I'm curious, what do you think is better? Real question, because everyone keeps saying OBSD is secure.

Hi from 1980's Luke
Seriously considering using OpenBSD. This void shit feels so gross. Only moved to Void cause it had wine, but wine doesn't even run well here.
Sadly there isn't much better to go with.
Unix is failure-prone and insecure by design to begin with.
Linux has far better testing culture, but most security failures of linux-based systems come from user-space.
Windows has good research and sometimes tries, but it tends to die in a corporate environment and pajeet outsourcing.
I would go with Redhat desu.
Because it is too mainstream
