playing video games is one of the most self-destructive behaviors
it is also a huge indicator of low intelligence

i only play games made before 2000, i might as well have 10% of performance

why does Jow Forums pretends to hate games while they're always up to buying the newest gpu/cpus released?
anyone can use search engines user.
weird huh?
It's almost like you need the lastest nvidia card to program and be productive...
r-right?
CPUs obviously because of compiling packages in Gentoo
Every PC game actually worth playing can now be run at maximum on a potato.
MInecraft runs just as well for me
linux users constantly love to bitch about windows users and then in the same breath talk about how amazing their shitty unsupported OS- I'm sorry kernel is.
Games have higher FPS on Linux only because Linux doesn't have full DirectX support meaning the FPS boost comes from lower quality
That's still technically higher performance overall at maximum settings
LINUXTODDLERS BTFO
Should we ban drivers?
Honestly get ~100 more fps in csgo compared to my windows install. The difference between games can vary a lot though.
cringe
>plays games
linux is currently pretty great for professionals and adults. it's not really meant for little baby fruitcake detriments like yourself. so no worries right
...
I have a job, my computer is for work, If for some reason I want to play a game I will just buy a ps2, wii (for gamecube) or some old shit like that since that was the last time games were good and not pay to win shit filled with casino "loot boxes", AAA asset flipping and "always on experiences".
I'm not a fucking cow to be milked by the kikes.
I bet you wear girl leggings when playing them. Also who is your waifu?
cringe and bluepilled
All research says otherwise. This statement is totally wrong. Everything in moderation. Video game addiction is a problem for some gamers, not all.

Just because you're a kid and only use your gaymer pc bought by your mom to play the glorified casinos you call vydia doesn't mean everybody in Jow Forums is a kid too.
CAD runs just fine here with an athlon 200GE
it's ok, you can get out of the gamer closet.
>always up to
>never actually buying anything
look at this newfag. always assume everyone's either larping or baiting when it comes to hardware. that or they come from reddit to post in ebin battlestation threads. neets here can barely afford an x200 to watch anime on.
You forgot
>free of MS and apple spyware
>free to do whatever you want with your computer
>have support for lots of devices that don't have good windows drivers
New Windows patch has killed gaming performance on the platform. Linux is the highest performing gaming OS.
Unless you're doing sensitive stuff (business, research, handling [your] personal data) You shouldn't be concerned about M$hills and itoddlers spying on you.
Most likely your data will be used for tailored advertisements and that's it.
Why would anyone freak out if they find that gigachad likes anime or turbostacey plays games on her spare time?
not a big deal senpai.
On the other hand... having medical records leaked online could be potentially bad.
that's the most retarded thing i've ever heard
retard
>linux doesn't have native vidya
dumb baitnigger
That's what the jews in germany thought when they submitted their religious beliefes into the database in the 1920s
if linux has 50% performance then windows has 30% since the rest is wasted on running windows
this is literally the most worthless post that i've ever seen, possibly ever
If that happened in the 20's then we're fucked now.
Because it's so easy to find out information about anyone if you're a spying agency.
Even if you do your best to hide it.
Deal with it, privacy is dead, choke on it.
Except we DO have some choices. We can choose to not use a spying OS. We can encrypt our storage.
>Linux doesn't have full directx support
Linux doesn't support directx at all
OpenGL and Vulkan have implementations for most if not all implementations present in DirectX
You're just bringing up more suspicion on yourself.
Why would anyone encrypt their HDD?
This guy must have something interesting, huh?
Look, there are ways to shut you off and discover everything about you.
Of course, we're not quite 1984.
but we're getting there.
>Deal with it, privacy is dead, choke on it.
This is like saying "thieves can pick your lock so don't bother locking your door." I'm well aware that glow-in-the-darks can get my information if they want it but that doesn't mean I have to make it easy for them.
Remember, it's their job to be thieves. Say what you wanna say about them, but they're good.
You're just an unaware denizen using an outdated procedure to protect your files.
They're professionals.
Win7’s about to be discontinued and some people don’t trust 10. (I am very non-paranoid and the latest changes to the installer seem less direct and transparent than win10 at launch.)
Some of the performance loss is because AMD is BTFO in GPU hardware by Nvidia right now. Not having to depend on a closed source driver at the mid-high end and more engines using Vulkan should help.
Like Vulkan is way too difficult for the average game dev, but the average game dev should be using Unreal or Source and let them handle it, and not trying to code their own engine.
>uses windows
>gets 100% of the performance in games for 5 minutes before the windows decide to update and shuts the game down
>have no problem with drivers issues because the computer spends a great deal of the time bricked by some badly tested pajeet glue update
You can emulate all those systems you listed in your computer, even if you have linux.
Even if M$ wont do anything bad, there are several servers between me and the microsoft servers, and one of em might not be your regular, off the shelf server.
Laptop with two monitors and a switch master race.
I make 6 figs to not even need all that shite
>Use linux
>Get 99% of performance in games
>No driver issues
>5x network performance
Because sensitive data touches your HDD and you don't want every Tom, Dick, and Harry to be able to extract your social and credit card numbers with a fucking magnet.
Vão se foderem HUEHUEHEUEHEU
Except they already did it.
They don't want to withdraw money from your account, because this is extremely risky.
>but the average game dev should be using Unreal or Source
>Source
Wew lad, have you ever used source? That is some esoteric bullshit right there, definitely not for an average dev either.
There's exactly only one company using Source, and it's an extremely modified version of it.

Sure thing buddy
Limiting yourself to doing only a few things instead of exploring the world is a sign of low intelligence.

When will this meme die?
pretty much this.

My brain shorted out and I meant to say Unity.
unironically this
What CAD software are you using? CATIA and Solidworks work just fine.
If you're using autoCAD for 3D models, noose yourself.
Steam games run fine on linux and 40% of my steam games available on linux
Using Linux for your desktop is the digital equivalent of living in Africa.
>also can't run shit without running into driver issues
This hasn't been an issue for a long time now. Every device I have ever connected to my Linux computer has worked out of the box (even obscure things like audio interface, midi controller, etc.), and thats certainly something that can't be said about Windows.
