I'd reply to all those the same way he did.

Do elaborate. I want to hear your opinion.

Because you aren't doing anything interesting on your computer but are pretending to be a pro.

>BSD shills lying on the Internet
No surprise

>muh job
Please, explain what you mean.

>mfw install OpenBSD
>installer is dead simple, yet not aimed at complete novices
>everything just werks out of the box
>everything in the system is simple to understand

>make huge claims about openbsd having only audited software and no bugs and thus being better than gnu+linux
>default install contains basically no programs for desktop usage, if you want any additional software you have to rely on completely untested and unpatched ports

doas pkg_add lmaoing-at-your-life

Finding other things that don't work faster than you can find how to fix things that don't work.
When I tried it, the official solution for playing videos in firefox was to run firefox.exe in wine.
I don't know how much shit they've fixed since then, but back then people were lying on the internet about how it's was so cool and just as good or better than linux.
It was a complete fucking abortion then, and i still see lots of comment about why it's shit still in the endless stream of bsd shilling threads we suffer now.
It was bad enough that i won't be trying it again in this lifetime.

>mfw install OpenBSD
>GPU acceleration is not working because nvidia cards simply arent supported by this junk
>grab ATI card, insert it into my ass and then into the PC
>GPU acceleration still does not work

Videos run just fine for me. Also:
>nvidia cards simply arent supported by this junk
As opposed to stellar Linux support? Nvidia is a trash company. You don't even have to listen to me; listen to this guy.

Yes, it includes a package manager.
And yet the packages aren't officially supported and the package selection is considerably smaller than any linux distro. Even the unofficial repos for solaris 11 contain more packages than this joke of an OS

Linux has nouveau
OpenBSD refuses to even look at it because "lol too complex for us". Same reason why they dropped wine support.

lol @ all of the booty blasted gaymers ITT

lol @ all of the booty blasted not-so-freetards who defend a broken OS like OpenBSD

Based and redpilled.
Cringe and bluepilled

>samefagging
cringe and more cringe

Really. Gaming is one of the worst things that has happened to software.

Now those are levels of cope that shouldn't even be possible.

>When I tried it, the official solution for playing videos in firefox was to run firefox.exe in wine.
That has literally never been the case. 15 years ago people would emulate the Linux version of Opera for its flash player. But why are you crying over proprietary shit like flash in the year of our lord two thousand nineteen?

>OpenBSD refuses to even look at it because "lol too complex for us".
Where? Or is "patches welcome" some crazy un-open-sourcey thing to say?

No cope. You shouldn't need those things.
>b-but my job requires that I...
Just install Windows, then. No point on Linux.

Everyone in this thread is retarded.

openbsd-archive.7691.n7.nabble.com/Nouveau-td131344.html

And what's your excuse for not supporting Wine, BSDShill?

"nouveau is a moving target which makes it hard to port, but if it's been more stable more recently someone who's interested in doing a lot of work might be able to make it work"

aka

"patches welcome"

Except me of course.

aka
"we don't care a shit abut what our users want, but feel free to waste your time, only to be rejected because we are autistic about code quality"

>documentation is a joke compared to any other OS
There's a lot of things you can pick on with OpenBSD -I run it on some systems so believe me, there's plenty to go on- but the manpages are excellent.

>we are autistic about code quality
In what way?

Usually if people post a decent diff it gets committed, or improved then committed. I can't think of many actual diffs that got rejected except ones that were really bad.

usenix.org/legacy/events/usenix99/millert.html

What packages do you care about that OpenBSD doesn't have? It's got Chrome, Firefox, Libreoffice, Gnome, all that shit.

So what? :^)

A good way

Attached: eurobsdcon2017-pledge.png (1296x724, 95K)

People like you we're claiming it was awesome, in many ways better then linux back then, and it was utterly worthless fucking garbage.
Fool me once, shame on me.
And I doubt it was 15 years ago and am certain it was firefox, and not just flash, any mutlitmedia plugins at all, most of which have been obsolete for what..5 years or so?

Why would they give a shit what "users" want when the target audience is "developers"?

it is but i'm a brainlet and i have some proprietary software i need. at least i'm not immature enough to blame the OS for that unlike some other faggots on this board.

Gigantic
Nasty and
Unavoidable

>wine
>on openbsd
shit that didn't happen

the openbsd target audience is the openbsd developers

I don't know how to program, yet I use OpenBSD.

Why would someone even want proprietary drivers? This doesn't even make sense

"We're the dark matter. We're the force that orders the universe but can't been seen."

>>mfw install OpenBSD
>>GPU acceleration is not working because nvidia cards simply arent supported by this junk

Stopped reading there

Comfirmed larper faggot

The documentation literally tells you what to expect when you use Nvidia, you never installed OpenBSD you are just an anime faggot farming (you)'s

Nah, the rest of the post is true.

not all devs/users are using OpenBSD exclusively. thats just an ignorant conclusion.

why are you even using nvidia shit? you some sort of gamer or something?
>>documentation is a joke compared to any other OS
they're literally well-known for well-written man pages

Are quadro cards gayming gear? Or are those too professional for OpenBSD?

this is unironically kinda true and i play a lot of video games

i don't think there's any other industry where proprietary software is encouraged as much. gamers will install literal rootkits on their computers and the majority will be OK with that.

you probably use the fucking AUR lmao

No, I'm not an arch user.

in any case, it's not the responsibility of the distro/OS to check if every package is secure. do you think the debian devs actually check every package? at some point you need to have actual fucking common sense when you install some packages.

>ZFS
>jails
>wayland
>networkmanager
>docker
>windows
C O P E

Yeah, you don't nees those things.

>do you think the debian devs actually check every package?
debian.org/security/#DSAS

>CVE's
that's not the debian devs you moron. feel free to believe the debian devs look at every package on this list though:
packages.debian.org/stable/allpackages?format=txt.gz

The point is that debian cares
OpenBSD devs don't give much of shit about anything that isn't part of the main install

>moving the goalpost this hard
they're not even untested too, people actually make sure this shit builds and dogfood it.

>documentation is a joke compared to any other OS
another person who can see through canadian lies

>don't care about things I don't use
>somehow this is coping with an issue

If they have proprietary hardware?

source: your ass

There would be much less hate if people understood what OpenBSD really is:

A perfect operating system, if you are willing to wait ten years.
The following statements are all true:
>OpenBSD just werks
>OpenBSD is simple, coherent, easy to understand and maintain
>OpenBSD is typically years behind (sometimes more than 10 years) when it comes to supporting new devices, new standards, and generally new things

If you're looking for the very latest, clearly you should not even bother with other BSDs (except maybe DragonFly) but use Arch Linux or Gentoo or whatever is the bleeding edge Linux distro.

If you want a stable system that werks, you can use OpenBSD. You don't *always* need the new stuff, it all depends what you do. You can't play Skyrim for sure, but it's a good platform to write C code, for example.

enjoy nogaems cuck XD

What is openbsd_gaming.reddit.com/

The fuck is that?

Does it have Network Manager?

N... yes? No?
I pressed return two times during installation and never had to configure it again.

Can you like change your wifi?

OpenBSD devs come to these threads to talk shit about OpenBSD to keep retards out.

It's a literal trash OS and only fags and losers use it.

>ifconfig device-name nwid network-name wpakey network-password
>dhclient device-name

Sorry sweatie, but I don't use openbsd

OK, why do you personally dislike OpenBSD?

Are you a fucking retard? Does openBSD really make you this much of a dumb retarded fuck or is it just you?

You're supposed to buy hardware based on the software you want to use and not the other way around

GNaU/Linux

You confuse "features" with being "necessities," retard.

GANOO/Loonix is shit.

Objectively wrong. Install Fedora.
