What does /ag/ think of the new Klipsch RP600M? I glanced at the measurements in Stereophile this month and they looked pretty good for the money. The 96dB/w efficiency was bullshit but it still had 89 and change which is good for a bookshelf.

I have never really gotten excited about a horn loaded speaker for some reason though. There is a part of me that wants some old meme BBC monitors or something.

Are the R2000 a good budget choice for a livingroom basic console+laptop media setup?

What would you get alternatively around that price?

hey thanks user for your responses in the last thread re. JBL L100 speakers
i hope you have a great week m8 !

I have a pair and I love them, but I use them for surrounds only so they aren't really used for to their fullest

Neat. What's the rest of your equipment?

Got myself these bad boys, using them for my computer with the SPDIF input. I like them, their sound is really good as far as I'm concerned, and I didn't need a separate DAC or any other equipment. Never tested their analog input though.

Rude

talk shit
get hit

I've heard good things about the R2730 and they are about the same price but much bulkier and less refined, aesthetically and material-wise.
Also weirdly, I read in comparisons that the R2000s are more balanced.

I actually have a pair of R1100s as pc speakers via analog and they sound excellent

i give my wife a wide on every time i talk about my STAX so you’re probably an infertile pig

it's moderately funny that the shitty headphone general is now just a bunch of people saying stax over and over.

RP-504C center

R-115SW Sub

and a denon to power it all.

Although I am getting crackles at high bitrate/high volumes so i need to fix that someday

What do you think is causing the crackles? Usually a crackle from high bitrate (some kind of digital error) is different than a crackle from high volume (speaker struggle or amplifier clipping)

no problem man, i hope you have a great week too

I did buy banana plugs thinking its some kind of connection issue, but that did not fix it..
Not really sure at this point. i've been too busy to take care of it :(

Banana plugs generally make the connection worse, since it is two connections rather than one. Check the speakers on another amp. If they still crackle, you know it is the speakers. Might be your receiver taking a shit or something. I kinda doubt you are overdriving or have overdriven the klipschs unless you are deaf, but a defect in manufacturing is possible.

I used the same cable on the opposite speaker, and the crackles moved to the new speaker, so I'm guessing there's something wrong with the receiver or wire.

>Banana plugs generally make the connection worse
"no"

Potato/10

For $200 ahould I go for the Swan M20W? Or the Edifier R1850DB?

Are bluetooth speakers bad? Is there any kind of delay?

edifiers, you'll be a lot more happy having two-way speakers.
>Are bluetooth speakers bad?
bad in that they're not hifi but they're just fine depending on your needs
>Is there any kind of delay?
no

>edifiers, you'll be a lot more happy having two-way speakers

Even without a dedicated sub? Are they bassy enough? I know its subjective, Id still prefer an opinion anyway.

And thanks for the reply. Been trying to figure out new speakers/monitors for my rig.

>Even without a dedicated sub?
a 6" sub won't improve much and given that the edifiers are ported, you'll be given enough bass. ideally if you want more bass, get a nice 10" powered sub. as for being happy with two-way speakers, I say it because the Swans are simply a single-driver speakers. this gives you a very limited sound range and will most likely sound pretty bad

Thanks for the recommendation. Im feeling more confident about the Edifiers. Will buy them later today.
