Network wide DNS blocking.

Nothing that's pay to whitelist like this crap

Remember most ad blockers are actually ad networks in disguise.

I'm having trouble blocking annoying fullscreen ad on sankakucomplex chan. It ruins my 2D fap experience. Blocking elements works but only partially - you still have to reload the page as if ad is showing but you simply can't see it. Pls help me Jow Forums

>Remember most ad blockers are actually ad networks in disguise.
and a reminder to you that uBlock Origin is not. (not that that you asked, but OP used the picture)

And there are many ad blocking things UBO can do because it's "inside" the encrypted connection. DNS blocking only works for some things and soon when ads are served on 1st party domains, DNS blocking at a network level will be literally useless.

this. Gorhill is /ourguy/

uBlock Origin with corporation list (google/microsoft/facebook/cloudflare) and sites using cloudflare list. Literally purges 99% of the trash sites while also blocking ads and 3rd party js.

>pay to whitelist like this crap
what are you talking about?

He's probably talking about most adblockers being advertising companies nowadays that sell a position on their whitelist to companies for "sensible" or "unobtrusive" ads.

can you link these lists?

>use uBO
>still see ads loading then getting hid, those ads are in my browser cache, etc
>never saw that back when I was using so-called "botnet" adblock plus, ads and such were NEVER in the cache
Explain

>BUT UBO CAN'T REALLY BLOCK SOME ADS SO BLAH BLAH WHATEVER
Why did socalled "botnet" ABP have no problem then?

dump

proof or gtfo

Is dns66 botnet?

>ubofags still have no answer for this
uBO confirmed for ineffective botnet.

Just visited the site for the first time. I tried blocking the element with this:
chan.sankakucomplex.com###sank-prestitial

And it appears to be working. But I haven't used the site enough to verify.

You know filter lists and ubo/umatrix have issue trackers you can post ads on so they can get blocked for everyone, right?

github.com/jmdugan/blocklists/tree/master/corporations
notabug.org/themusicgod1/cloudflare-tor/src/master/split

He said "like this crap" as if he was implying that uBO has whitelists.

You have pre-fetch enabled. You can't block ads that are already captured by your browser in background, you can just hide them. ABP also hides ads, just like uBO. But, uBO also blocks domains as a hosts file would so most ads don't even get a chance to attempt to load, making it significantly faster than ABP.

If you use a botnet DNS (google, cloudflare, microsoft, etc.) then yes. Otherwise no, but it's useless for a lot of ad types.

Why do you always avoid showing proof when you shitpost against uBO, (((shill)))?

You want proof? Use it and watch uBO hide ads, and go into your cache and see those ads exist.

Then install ABP, disable its "approved ads" (a simple checkbox it GUIDES YOU TO WHEN YOU INSTALL IT), and see how THAT DOES NOT HAPPEN.

There's your fucking proof.

NEWSFLASH EVERYONE! THINGS STILL EXIST IN CACHE AFTER BEING DOWNLOADED! IF YOU BLOCK THEM AFTERWARD THEY'RE STILL THERE! WHAT A FUCKING REVELATION! IN OTHER NEWS: OP IS A A FAGGOT, WATER IS WET AND NIGGERS SMELL!

thanks. I didn't know NSFW issues were allowed on github
t. barinlet

Thanks couldn't find them through search for some reason :{

ghacks, ublock origin, no script, decentraleyes, cookie autodelete.

>still not posting a video
>still not reporting this to github
And no, I don't see any ads in cache.

I don't really care that much, or go to obscure porn sites that aren't catered to by the existing settings of UO.

I just install it and use it.

I virtually never come in contact with an sanitized and unfiltered/-blocked web, but sometimes you do on some random machine. Blows my fucking mind how anyone ever would be willing to put up with this. And adds are everyfucking where (I wouldn't know). Just.

I'm only using uBO right now, but I should probably branch out and use uMatrix at least.
Any good guides for how to use that shit properly without breaking every site?

Question
Is there a way to check differences between 2 pages? What scripts are running and stuff like that. Only dashboard aka "advanced settings" or is there something else?

Simply not true, please record your experience.

Very nice, thank you

Looks like you haven't ever used unlock, lol, idiot

I love custom blocking of arbitrary elements. (right click --> block element). I blocked out the entire sidebar of related videos on youtube, so I can watch my videos in peace without being constantly distracted.

Also use it to block the pop ups that kindly ask you disable adblock.

How do I get rid of the obtrusive "Please disable ad-blocker" page? I'm not going to disable it, is there any other way around it?

Turn on your anti adblock filters in upblock.

ublock*

yeah, that doesn't do anything.

Then you'll have to either go to the filter's main site/forums and make a request for a certain site and wait for someone to make a new rule or look for a new ad-on or script that focus solely on anti ad blockers, there's a bunch out there. I think people used to use something called reek's anti adblocker or something. I stop using it because it was buggy on back when Firefox getting ready to switch over to quantum.

Problem with the anti adblocker filters on ublock and most other adblockers is, they need to be updated constantly because sites will get around them almost every week, same with ad's. But really though, its best to learn to write your own rules.

this guy's lists are pretty good: github.com/bongochong/CombinedPrivacyBlockLists

...along with like 900 other repos on github. there's torrent blocklists in that repo too though.

Post the site where you're having the issue. And yeah, also make a request on either uBo's github or the EasyList forums or something.

>cucks to SJWfox devs

Lol no

Some of the included ones + pic related, I do most stuff with uMatrix

Redpill me on Nano Defender. I've been using Adblock Plus for years now, never been an issue, swore by it for ages, until they started losing the arms race, and I started getting those "disable adblock" messages, which I'm not okay with. Someone recommended Nano Defender to me and it's working great, but almost too good, so now I'm suspicious.

uBlock Origin + YouTube Vanced and I haven't seen an ad in months.

What do you mean?

I use this (PiHole) mainly for devices such as my family's phones, etc. I use uBlock for local devices to block YouTube.

Adguard DNS.

So, what is the main appeal of using pihole over just installing uBlock on your family's devices? Is it just convenience? Piholes don't adjust html/css or use custom js resources like Ubo does, do they?

To get a proper AdBlock working on phone (system-wide) you'd have to root the phone and I would rather not do that.

Also it's impossible to have AdBlock on PlayStation's etc and having someone in the family(young kid) I'd rather not have him exposed to ads (especially those on cheating websites)

Ah, that makes sense. Is uBo for mobile not considered a true adblocker, though? I've used it for years, and it appears to function about the same as its desktop counterpart.

just use nano filters in ublock like any white man would

github.com/pyllyukko/user.js
anyone using the relaxed branch? which one of those fuckers breaks posting here?

Use this as well jspenguin2017.github.io/uBlockProtector/

Resource usage isn't so bad. I have plenty to spare anyways.

Imagine not using uMatrix

cringe and bloatpilled

How is it bloat?

Whitelisting domains via ublock origin is good enough for me

>uBlock Origin with corporation list (google/microsoft/facebook/cloudflare) and sites using cloudflare list. Literally purges 99% of the trash sites while also blocking ads and 3rd party js.
So you're blocking 99% of the internet?

the internet is 99% trash. just doing the gods work
