You have tools and visual styles that stop working after big man updates. You can't change the system font without making it look absolutely horrible. You can't even change anything related to new elements on Windows 10 (such as apps). It's barely more customizable than macOS while looking much worse and more inconsistent.

As an example, you might change your shell to free up some RAM, but you wouldn't replace explorer with something that was unintuitive to use, or you might change the way your taskbar works, but not to the point that it becomes a hindrance.
