Menu key

Does anyone actually use this key? I don't think I have ever touched it.

Attached: menu-key.jpg (600x486, 86K)

I use it a lot.
Something like spell check demands it.

I like it. It's certainly more useful than another Super key.

I use it for typos/spelling correction.

this every day

I use it when my right hand is under my desk and can't reach the mouse

I use it as a compose key

i use it for dmenu

I didn't know it existed.

Fucking nu-Thinkpads REMOVED it. I have to map menu to the print screen key now.

I do this too.
Moved print screen to insert or the blue button if available.
Where did you move yours?

This. It is nice to have such a useless key, since you won't lose any functionality by remapping it.

i use it as a right click

Good to know I'm not a thinktard
FUCK thinktards
And FUCK IBM

I use it as as a second super key.

I always thought that was a print key

I use mine to collect dust. Works pretty good.

I don't use print screen that often so no key. I can hit mod+r to bring a prompt and type sc or scs (aliases for scrot)

I use it for hotkeys, just like I would Super.
However, I use Super + key only for desktop hotkeys.
For apps I use Menu + key instead.

Man, I really should clean my fucking keyboard already. Sucks. Just cleaned the other board the other day, and that took me like hours, cleaning all the caps individually and putting em back on. Mechanical keyboards were a fucking mistake. You're way better off just buying cheap china crap and again once it's all sticky.

I remapped it to music play/pause

removed it from my old keyboard, because it rustles my jimmies hitting it by accent

shift + f10 is more useful mainly because my keyboard doesn't have any of the buttons that microsoft thought was a good edition to the model M layout

i do, and it trips me up every time without fail when i go to fix someone's modernshit 'computer' and it has no fucking menu key

Yes, when I'm jerking off or something and only have one hand available

I use it a lot, since it's the only way to use a windows pc without a mouse. When there is none I map caps lock to it.

When you're used to it keyboard only it's usually a lot faster than using a mouse and I tend to procrastinate to point where every second counts

I use it all the time. I hate when a keyboard doesn't have it..

I got a print screen key there that makes me rage.

>use a windows pc without a mouse
This. It has it's unique uses.

My keyboard only has one super key so I remapped menu to super lmao

Fucking this. I use it constantly for this and other uses.

Bind it to call dmenu from within dwm.

I mapped keyboard layout changing to it

imagine posting on Jow Forums while unironically being a windows user

Fuck off penguin neckbeard

because it's called the linux board, right?

dumbfuck virgin

>implying it's not

>show up to a car enthusiast meetup
>in your mum's mini

kek

I don't even have this key on my mac.

Rarely but it does come in handy when its needed.

equating the use of a neckbeard OS to a car enthusiast meetup, nigga at least they leave their basements

jeez

car analogies is like an internet rule

>not hot-rodding mum's mini
What are you, gay?

A lot.

i use it as a macro modifier in emacs to switch between major modes.
o is org-mode, for example

imagine being using virgin scrot instead of chad ESCROTUM

:D

>being using
fuck

I use it

it's a fucking right click

wtf is a super key some people are talking about?

lurk before posting

so i see you're using k120

why does it need so many cables

It has two cables. One to connect the halves and one to connect the whole thing to the computer.

Are 1 and 2 the same? It looks kind of long and annoying.
Also having n3 crossing your desktop

Attached: 1552577702784.jpg (4032x2268, 1.9M)

Yes. It's a split keyboard so normally the halves are roughly shoulder-width apart, and it's only 1.5ft cable so it's a nice length.

Also that's not my desktop bro it's just where I was soldering it together. Obviously on my actual desk the cable is routed nicely. I'm not a savage.

The small key above the 2 thumb keys looks like a nightmare to reach.

Which is why it's for uncommonly used things, like mouse clicks or switching layers.

I imagine that blind people probably get some use out of it.

yes I use the menu key regularly, right CTRL not so much

it's on FN+F10 or F11 now, I forgot which one
what a stupid decision that was

$325 for a keyboard !!!
FMD.

shift F10 is usually the default

a real keyboard doesn't even have it

How else do you right-click, faggot?

The Windows key

Just build an ergodox yourself, everything is open source.

Just remapped mine to F13 to use as a Romaji/Kana switch for IME. Comfy.
Also learned that xmodmap needs to die in the process, and that xkb is a huge pain.

I use it for file renaming and that's about it desu.
Menu + M, type new name, Enter
beyond that I don't use it for much but I miss it when I have to go over to the mouse to right click and rename something.

With... You know... My mouse.

The real question is why does any keyboard still keep caps lock where it is.
Why is there just to attract accidental clicks, and to slow down writing in general?

remap it to ctrl or backspace like any sane person

I did until almost every laptop maker decided that I didn't. Shift-F10 does almost the same thing, though it pops the menu up at a less intuitive location, and sometimes "right clicks" the wrong place.

>not mapping it to F-15 instead

>Logitech K120
Mah nigga

This.

So much that because it's missing from my Precision, I remapped right Ctrl to Menu.

I bind it to Meta

>spotted the wintard

xD upboated ebin sir

>nu
dumbfuck

I use it 9 hours a day for my employment

Never too late to start. Handy-dandy, user; thanks for reminding me of this key's existence.

Remember, always do the opposite of whatever Jow Forums says.

underrated
even my dell keyboard that cost like $4 in 2007 had media keys lol.
