holy shit neil found the exact value of pi? is there nothing this man can't do?

>Neil degenerate byeson
>science
Pick one and only one.

>dumb scifi pseudoscientist nigger
>SCIENCE
No.

Science is accountable to the highest bidder.

science is becoming a joke in that people are letting it become a substitute for religion
you can not believe in science, and science is not absolute fact, science is a series of theories that we as a species have found approximates reality the best so far, and until proven otherwise, is relatively true. yet people take science as if it was handed down from god, and not paid studies by corporations and governments with an agenda to push

Science is becoming less and less important while the collective IQ of the humanity keeps getting lower and emotions and opinions of those in power have become more important than proven facts.

That's just as dumb as the people you're complaining about.

This. But unironically.

I know the first 30 digits of pi by heart. Your move Neil.

based black science man

so science is fact and it can never be refuted? get a grip

Science in colloquial speech is scientific method and yes, it can't be refuted.

Science is a process for building models. It shouldn't be confused for reality. Often times there are models that equally explain all data, but paint entirely different physical pictures.

wasn't this only kinda valid three years ago?

There was even a short segment on this on bbc radio1.

there's 1 crowd of people and it's the "i fuckin love science!" that is embarrassing. they try to get normal people into science which is good i guess.

The laws of nature are hard to outbid.

what a massive fucking brainlet holy shit

s4s did this or

You're both right, it just depends what we're talking about. If you're talking about math, everything is happening in the world of pure math, so everything is true. There are many math "world" tho, where something that can be true in one isn't in the other. But in each of those math "world" everything is true and cannot be refuted cause they have already been proved.
Now in physics it's different, most of the time physics gets something that's true in math, and try to apply it in the real world.
Now it just so happens that it is not refutable that acceleration is derived from velocity, while derivation was a "pure" math concept at the beginning.
But we know we still don't have a good answer for how gravity works, yet we have a working theory for everything that's beind done on earth.

What I'm trying to say very poorly is that you're always going to go from very theoretical to real world application.
And yes, the model we find might not work for every use case, but it will work for some of them. And for a proof of that you just have to look around you and see how much insane technology you're using.
The ultimate goal of science is to understand the world. In a lot of field, we have found and connected a lot of the dots, so we can see what the final picture might look like. But if we don't find ALL the dots and connect them all, we'll never know for sure.

I knew somebody would reply with this, I don't care for theism of any kind. There is becoming increasingly less of a difference between the worship of science and the worship of god. Same shit, different time.

>same shit
Except it's not, because scientific study is based on verifiable, reproducible fact.

so you're saying that the studies being done today by special interests groups are real empirical science? People don't care for empirical science, they hold physiological studies based off of human emotion as real science. They fail to see how you can completely rig an entire study just by constructing it to give you the data that you wish. Furthermore, the only "science" people even know about is the ones they hear about on the evening news, or in biased news publications. The average citizen has never read a scientific journal once in their life. And yet they worship science they are told about from their favorite authority, corporate news and government agencies.

>pseudoscience nigger pretending to know shit

He probably typed that out on an iphone.

Science literally refutes itself all the time. In fact, science must be by definition falsifiable.

Are you retarded? Science was at its apex when it was driven by religious zealotry because Christian, hindu, and muslim autists would shut themselves into rooms doing nothing but copying data, other books, studying, and theorizing because they thought that it was some sort of divine duty to preserve knowledge and study divine creation i.e. the natural world. Science in the hands of the secular state has become nothing but a pastime. It was fine up until a point but it's quickly lost a lot of the fanatical vigor that it used to have. we have to find more people like Terry and tell them that God is telling them to become scientists and we'll be living in fucking space colonies and mining asteroids in no time

of course. when leftists start pushing something as fashionable or authoritative, thats when you know its about to die if not completely hijacked for political purposes. leftists hop from this to that and from here to there, sucking the life out of everything they touch.

oh haha right like on the 14th month yeah that would make a lot more sense haha stupid niel

problem is those "scientists" are starting to treat their opinion and emotion as objective fact

Religion gives a society structure and can thereby boost scientific progress, but it can also prohibit it. It's a double edged sword. It ensures a minimum of progress, yet it also prevents us from reaching the maximum rate of progress possible:
Religion defines relatively strong values. These values can protect us from going a wrong way, but can also hinder us from going a correct way.

A practical example: Christianity made it a bit hard for us to accept that the sun is the center of our solar system and not the earth, also that the earth isn't flat costs some people their lives too. Then again monasteries preserved knowledge through the dark ages after Rome fell and Christianity cultivated the barbarians in northern Europe enough so they could catch up with the advanced Arabic world and ultimately decided overtake them.
A bit more modern: Fundamentalists still harm us today (Christians believing prayers are better than medicine, or Muslims trying to wage wars against unbelievers; strange cults doing mass suicides or terrorist attacks etc.), but they can also help us with their rigid values: People mutilating their genetals in order to change their sex isn't helping(just look at post op suicide rates) , and having somebody that fundamentally condemns this can help us from accepting and/or adopting this sick behavior in our societies.

I-Its a joke guyse!!

Y-you don't understand I didn't mean it the way I wrote it! I-I'm totally not a overrated faggot with no actual clue as to what the fuck I'm doing!

It can't be denied that Christianity had a negative effect on scientific progress in these matters. Galileo was excommunicated and under house arrest untils his death for doubting heliocentrism.

Or is your intention to reference the ongoing "flat earth" meme?

its not you fucking retard objective fact doesnt even exist

Science is a METHOD. The fact that even people who think people who call people "science deniers" don't know this is strong evidence for it being a media meme for a very long time.

Why do these mega autistics keep calculating more pi digits?

black smart man is smart

galileo was ex communicated because the church was seen as the structure in order for bad ideas to be defeated. one major reason why the Renaissance/Enlightment was possible was from the strong structure from the church. i suggest you do some reading:
>Historian of science Edward Grant writes that "If revolutionary rational thoughts were expressed in the Age of Reason, they were made possible because of the long medieval tradition that established the use of reason as one of the most important of human activities".[47] Furthermore, Lindberg says that, contrary to common belief, "the late medieval scholar rarely experienced the coercive power of the church and would have regarded himself as free (particularly in the natural sciences) to follow reason and observation wherever they led".
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_Ages_(historiography)

forgot to add to my first statement. galileo was excommunicated because he was an obnoxious ass. he thought he was better than the structure that was used to bring forth ideas and have them verified. the whole idea that the church excommunicated him because he was right and it went against current theory is myth.

It's well documented that they wouldn't accept his heliocentric model because it directly contradicted the Bible, and church members proposed that his idea may be presented as mathematically correct but he couldn't go around claiming the physical world was heliocentric. Given, his excommunication did have to do with the fact he was an asshole with a lot of enemies, even making enemies out of people who were favorable to him including the later pope, but it's undeniable that the Church didn't view favorably on his heliocentric model because of the scripture.

>or Muslims trying to wage wars against unbelievers; strange cults doing mass suicides or terrorist attacks etc
You can't blame this entirely on religion when europeans deliberately broke up asian territories to place millennia old ethnic enemies together in "nations", and then spent the next 70 years alongside the US bombing the shit out of it and playing 4x with local politics. Muslim extremism like rigid laws about cloaking women and severe corporal punishment are one thing, even some orthodox jews believe that stuff, and suicide bombs and crashing planes into the "western devil" is another.

So it seems, but how did you manage to post your question 2 centuries in the future?

If you could quote properly you wouldn't need to write your post in the first place. Correct quote:
>Fundamentalists still harm us today (Christians believing prayers are better than medicine, or Muslims trying to wage wars against unbelievers; strange cults doing mass suicides or terrorist attacks etc.)
You're missing the fundamental part of the sentence: it's about fundamentalists, and the last part about cults and terrorism was more aimed at cults like Amum Shinrikyo who made a terroristic attack on the subway in Tokyo in 1995 (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tokyo_subway_sarin_attack) or suicide cults like the one in Jonestown (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonestown).

It speaks for itself that you automatically focus only on the Islamic aspect and don't even complete read what i have written and instead assume that I blame every Muslim alive for the cruelty and savagery being done in the name of their God.
Maybe you should be less biased and embrace things with a more open mind.

The white race will perish now that Black science man has transcended and broke through the cognitive limit the white devils had put upon the African kings and queens during slavery. In 100 years Europe will be a slum and Europeans will try to cross the Mediterranean sea to flee from hunger and war, but the black man will remember the crimes of the white man and keep those devils out. #WakandaIsOurFuture

Dumb snow nigger. Turks are KARA BOGA. This is why wh*te people fear them.

God created them to protect the KARA BOGA in Africa from the wh*toid scum . Turks are the attack force of the BLACK race. This is why TÜRKS conquered Europe around the same time the BLACK KANGZ were attacked in Afrika. They destroyed the wh7te capital of CONSTANTINOPLE and replaced it with ISTANBULL, to honour our BLACK BULL (KARA BOGA) nature.

When the African KANGZDOMS were destroyed TÜRKIYE was the last KARA BOGA country on earth. The wh#te subhumans attempted to take it down in order to permanently end the KANGZ and nearly suceeded. Luckily the biggest KARA BOGA of them all, Mustafa JAMAL, fought of the wh1te beasts and created a BLACK utopia in TÜRKIYE. However the nefarious schemes of the wh'tes continued, attempting to bring the KARA BOGA TÜRKS into the E.U. where they would be overwhelmed by gayreek WH9TE immigrants.

Luckily from the furthest we can get from Europe in Turkey, the north east GEORGIAN BLACK territory, a new KARA BOGA rose for the first time since Mustafa JAMAL. RECEP TAYIPP ERDOGAN (REIS) destroyed all wh8te LAICITE devils and restored himself as the KANGZ of TÜRKIYE. Now the BLACK KARA BOGA TÜRKS must struggle against the wh6tes to end that accursed race once and for all.

As far as I know we are very close to submission to the inescapable necessity, that the physics of the universe at existential scale is complete, and that no forces or interactions exist or can that we do not know of.

Moreover that modifying our 'stories' such that they, our experiences, our thoughts, and actions work ever closer to those rules. In other words, a majority of people demonstrate preference for the results even if a minority demonstrate preference for what produces those results.

Worse, that we evolved our language, cooperation in a division of labor, and all our works, in a period of very short 'safety' here on this earth, and here in this place in the universe. We do not have any luxury of 'free riding' on this world or the universe.

But it is this particular difference between those of us who seek to consume(relax) above all else, and those of us who seek to produce(achieve) above all else, that separates our understanding of the world.

As far as I can determine, we all seek to create stories that are discordant with that universe for a host of reasons - all of which are reducible to our desires being contrary to it.

Because we survive and prosper by the same means as does all life: the seizure of opportunity to resist entropy.

"More whites were brought as slaves to North Africa than blacks brought as slaves to the United States or to the 13 colonies from which it was formed. White slaves were still being bought and sold in the Ottoman Empire, decades after blacks were freed in the United States.

____

Over all that expanse of time and space, it is very unlikely that most slaves, or most slave owners, were either black or white. Slavery was common among the vast populations in Asia. Slavery was also common among the Polynesians, and the indigenous peoples of the Western Hemisphere enslaved other indigenous peoples before anyone on this side of the Atlantic had ever seen a European.

What does all this mean?

In addition to the chilling picture that it paints of human nature, it means that Americans today — all Americans — are among the luckiest people who have ever inhabited this planet. Most Americans living in officially defined poverty today have such things as central air-conditioning, cable television, a microwave oven and a motor vehicle.

A scholar who spent years studying Latin America said that what is defined as poverty in the United States today is upper middle class in Mexico.

Do we still need to do better? Yes! Human beings all over the world are not even close to running out of room for improvement.

There is so much knowledge and skills that need to be transmitted to the young that turning schools and colleges into indoctrination centers is a major and reckless disservice to them and to American society, which is vulnerable as all human societies have always been, especially those that are decent.

Mass media has created a consumer driven cultural dialectic where everything possible can be monetised and made popular without hindrances like critical or abstract thought, and it exploits our innate basal ganglia while doing so, using very subtle propaganda and trickery. It's quite literally dopaminergic brainwashing for reasons of control and profit maximisation, meanwhile the masses spend their valued time on hyper-informative input. Now this overload of superficial and reduced information injected into the mainstream consciousness via online social media has reduced our critical thinking ability, devalued information, discovery and artistic achievement, where now a world of amateurish referencing moonlights as high wisdom on behalf of glorified celebrity prostitutes, this prevails as the benchmark for valued information for the average middle class person. Amateurism reigns supreme, who's divine right is governed by the will of a money god. This is the plastic society we live in. Don't really now how to get over it, because it's so fucking obvious the high elite of our nations want an infantile, subordinated, money creating slave population that willingly bow to their needs in return for a slow, blinding comfort and cushioned ignorance.

The Galileo Affair

quora.com/What-is-the-most-misunderstood-historical-event

The Church was also quite open to the ideas of Copernicus. Copernicus himself was aware that there were several strong objections to his model, as noted above, and hesitated publishing his work as a result. But he was strongly encouraged by Bishop Giese of Culm and so initially circulated a summary of his ideas in 1530. This got him widespread attention and in 1533 Pope Clement VII asked Johann Widmanstadt to deliver a private lecture on Copernicus' theories in the Vatican Gardens. He was so intrigued and delighted by the lecture that he rewarded Widmanstadt with the gift of a valuable manuscript.

Galileo himself was lauded and revered for his learning and the Jesuit Order, in particular, claimed him as one of their own, since he was Jesuit-educated. Initial objections to his telescopic observations were overturned when Jesuit astronomers of the Collegium Romanum made their own telescopes and repeated his results.

As noted above, by 1616 there were no less than seven competing cosmological models under discussion in scientific circles and, as some of the leading scholars of the day, churchmen were in the thick of these debates. None of these models was without its flaws or serious objections, but the science of the day tended to continue to favour geocentrism. Galileo's position was actually in a minority amongst the scientists of the time and this was well understood by scientifically-literate churchmen. At this stage, however, heliocentrism was an entirely valid alternative idea and one thought worth consideration and study. It was not (yet) condemned, not suppressed and not declared heretical.

Despite popular belief, the exact value of pi is just 3

Nice I already thought I overdid it with my shitpost but mine was humble in comparison to this.

Why is it that you still fall for the bait?

Based and integer

I've got my sheet of paper right here!

You could've phrased this better, but you're pretty much right. There are plenty of things which science doesn't yet have answers for, and plenty of "answers" which don't really seem to add-up, so by no means is the current scientific projection of the world perfect or infallible. In spite of that, a lot of people latch onto "science" (scientific theories) these days in the same way that people of the past latched onto religion, and treat scientists much like people a century ago treated priests.

As far as I see, it's just bootlickers who need some authority to tell them what life means and how to live trading one master for another. I don't really care to be on either side of this debate since, although each side likes to act like they have all the answers, the truth is that neither does. Why waste time trying to solve a jigsaw puzzle that you're missing half the pieces to?

good enough for government work

don't forget that libtards have been coaxed into fucking loving science (right, morty?) for decades so that the powers-that-be can then push pseudoscience like man-made climate change upon them.

on another note, i have no idea what the fuck is going on with narratives like "race and gender don't exist," since they don't even bother to make up fake studies to support those, the soys just accept that at face-value, against mountains of scientific evidence to the contrary

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replication_crisis#In_medicine

While in a vacuum the scientific method should produce perfect results, it in fact does not in a lot of cases. It is the best we have for now though, until we find the ultimate truth or whatever.

Science (ironically) is actually the pursuit of 'god', if you think about it through a lens of abstraction. Say we finally modeled the unified theory and mastered it and could process it, that very same unified theory is the boundaries and laws that energy and matter evolved in and produced us. And in it being physically perfect it is necessarily omnipotent, capable of replaying the past and peering into the future.

With that said, we should not be worshipping science in its current state. It's polluted and corrupted. Skepticism should be held above all studies until absolute fact can be distilled from each and every word, and even then it should be held in question.

leftists still defending this rapist because hes black science man
