games
virtualized games
emulated games

never mind, I figured it out

>less drivers (it's a valid reason)
>no qemu+kvm
>less or out of date packages
bsd has its uses, it's as good as linux for server usage

No cute feet mascots

Proprietary games are non-free software and serve only the purpose of indoctrinating you into proprietary software business practices. Do not play them.

I don't fap to cuck porn.

BSD license man smokes cigs backwards
good enough reason for me

I prefer WTFPL and public domain. MIT is ok I guess. I don't really produce software that end users want anyway, it's all shit for my own purposes.

Better software support
Namespaces
More active development
Better documentation

Just curious, what packages are missing that you care about?

DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS DEVELOPERS

Software, including but not limited to drivers.

BSD didn't tell your mom he would fuck her over Snapchat if you ended up getting arrested for something to do with the car (so he can't get delivery work, either) and also Linux isn't run on drivers and it never has been. Stallman made blobs. Very particular blobs and it only recently started paying back in dividends. He may die soon. Count your blessings. We have Linus to look forward to next.

20 years is enough of you being God for us to look like fucking neets and not have anything to contribute to society, meanwhile these niggers glorify you and when I put you to them and they put themsleves out to you you spit on us and keep all of it to yourself. You're a dirt bag. That's what we meant then.

>that guy larping as a schizo

Have I stumbled onto the deep webs?

drivers
No BSD has support for BCM2873 wireless

>B-but I sai--
What are you gonna do about it?

Because I am not a corporate stooge who supports the OSM. I only use principled free software.

Slower, less software, less support.
Also, no real gain on a desktop/workstation over GNU/Linux. The only case where using BSD can make sense is OpenBSD on a server where security is crucial.

It's not truly possible to enter something into the public domain. "Public domain equivalent" licenses are a meme.

muh gayumz

BSD is garbage.

muh software

>Muh software support
>Muh proprietary software that I need to get shit done
>Muh support
>Muh community
>MUH GAMES
>Muh there's no fucking reason to use BSD

wouldn't that be a pro?
theo hates virgins.

You have 5 seconds to come up with an argument why driver support isn't a perk.

Cuck license

t.

Android

Square root of 16

2 + 2 = x

So Arch stinks like feet? It's fitting.

muh drivers and software, moron, why else
"you have 5 seconds to come up with an argument against using a tricycle over a car that isn't "muh energy""

It can't utilize my hardware.

less package support
all non-deprecated packages are just lignux ripoffs
cuck license
not a single decent anime girl mascot
the entire community is full of hipsters that couldn't install void

>rephrased "4"
Doesn't work that way.
x is literally not an answer.

22

Kevin uses it

Actually, it's 42.

>that isn't "muh drivers".
Muh containers.
Muh software.
Muh hardware support.
Muh video games.

Also, muh boot speed and muh EFISTUB support
(5 seconds with Void Linux and around 30 seconds with DragonflyBSD)

So, excluding drivers, containers, software, hw support, video games, boot speed and EFISTUB.
You have literally no argument.

I guess so.
Going to install BSD now.

No GPU passthrough yet, sadly

Just ordered parts to assemble a 1U OpenBSD router+firewall.
Outside of networking, Linux btfo *BSD in every usecase

I programming in C++/opengl/vulkan and I target windows and linux
I have literally 0(zero) reason to use something else as a dev machine.
i will soon try to play with vulkan on android which is one more reason not to use this shit

Nobody plays games on Linux recreationally

How do they play them? Medically?

How the fuck can someone make money off of developing for vulkan? You're living the dream

Non-free loicense

Not on Linux for sure. The worst platform ever. At least bsd gives you security unlike botnet system d

Professionally.

I don't want to spend hours learning how to install the OS.

Ubuntu is just Next, next, next, put my name, password and I have a usable computer.

>the very reason that makes it unusable doesn't count
Get out

Yeah but Ubuntu doesn't offer anything more than windows and especially osx. It's the windows of linux

>Ubuntu doesn't offer anything more than windows and especially osx

It offers a usable and consistent user interface, which Windows doesn't. Ubuntu offers a better Unix environment than OSX, and source code.

sadly it's not the case, I work with opengl but I only have hobby projects with vulkan.
We currently have no plan to use vulkan at work too, which is pretty sad.
Only real softwares build with vulkan are games especially doom 2016 and the future idtech7-based games.
I think android will be the first plateform to really use vulkan in production, games at first then maybe everything else based on opengl.

Er, criminally underrated
