Nice, hope it will beat NGU Sharp !

I'm a boomer still on MPC-HC. I just found out MPC-HC is a dead project. Should I make the switch?

I prefer mpv-easy osc

Some doom9 fellow keeps updating it.

Probably, but it's up to you really.

Amazing player. Is there a better GUI, though? I've seen the wiki, but can't find anything decent. If only the work being done was a bit more user friendly

There's a alternatives that come with frontends but they're all lacking in one way or another. Personally I don't mind the lack of a GUI but I can't lie there are times where it would be much more convenient to have one.

#drama

Alright Jow Forums, I'm begging you here, how in hell do I fix tearing in w10 fullscreen?
I already tried dwmflush=windowed and a whole lot of other shit to no success

#retardation

Exactly

default VLC is better than all of the shit you just posted

actually windows 10 player looks better than everything else
dont believe me take some screenshots and compare for yourself

what are the best settings for low-end hardware?

I might be blind but they all look the same for me

You've tried different backends and APIs?
Usually none. You can test it yourself and use auto-profiles for different codecs and resolutions.

hwdec=auto

>VLC
>pretending not to be an ignorant

I tried vo=opengl-hq:backend=angle if that's what you mean, but I don't know about them APIs

Try vo=gpu
gpu-context=d3d11 You might also want to try the dxinterop , win and winvk (for vulkan, which is something to try as well, make sure it actually works) contexts.

please port to iOS

Thank you i'll give feedback later

ARTORIUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUZ

what scripts do you guys recommend on windows builds? the list is pretty huge and i have a learning disability/don't know much about video playback so any help would be appreciated

Never underestimate the power of people's taste

Is there a way to shuffle with only specific file types, for instance audio files only?

Kinda, you can make profiles for filetypes out of the box, but you have to use the playlist file's extension. I suppose a keybind could work, too.
[extension.m3u]
shuffle

bilinear confirmed best

Brainlet.

I've written a script that does what I wanted, but is there a way to make it only run when given a custom command?
Right now its running everytime I launch mpv.

mp.add_key_binding

>inb4 that fag asks for a COC

Honestly this is something I never thought I'd see, mpv manual is so well laid out and easy to traverse I don't understand how he's having issues.

I edited my .conf file so it's literally only these two lines

profile=gpu-hq
save-position-on-quit

however, when I open a video file and close it, the save position is not saved, which also leads me to believe the first line isn't working. Am I doing something wrong?

I'm not sure on the specifics but something has to trigger for mpv to save its position, this has happened to me in the past where I'll open a file, skim to some part and close, but when I return to the file at a later date it will either start at the beginning or some other time that wasn't what I wanted.
Perhaps you could find more info in the log, your config looks fine. You could also try specifying a watch later directory maybe the default isn't working for whatever reason
mpv.io/manual/master/#options-save-position-on-quit

Yeeeeeeeeeeah!

does anyone have issues with mpv youtube-dl buffering a lot for twitch streams? I even tried worst quality and it buffers every few seconds. Youtube is okay

youtube live stream also buffers

Specify the path for your watch later folder
save-position-on-quit
watch-later-directory=C:\Users\user\Videos\mpv\watch_later

Press shift+i to bring up the stats screen where you can use buttons 1 and 2 to switch between pages. You can tell that the profile is working by confirming that the scale and cscale are indeed spline36. Make sure that your config is actually mpv.conf and not mpv.conf.txt (if you're using windows). Pressing shift+q will close the player and save position, try that to see if this works correctly.

wtf is wrong with NGU screenshots?

what's the shortcut to go to the next subtitles' lines?

ctrl+left/right

Can't wait for madVR ENVY anymore. :(

SHIT

use livestreamer+streamlink twitch gui

Attached: 1551042519681.jpg (1080x1359, 115K)

mpv = must protect mahmediaplayer

mpc = must protect crap

Twitch works fine most of the time for me, which is quite amazing really considering I am in a shitty country. But around ~2yrs ago, I had to use livestreamer or it was unwatchable.
Also, check the distance/ping to the datacenter serving the content for you. Latency plays a big part I guess.

I don't think so, dumbass.

Probably madshi's dithering

I want to watch a 1080p movie on my 4k screen. Should I use one of these ML upscalers or are they just for weeb shit?

just give it a try and stick with it if it looks better to you

Sorry, when I fixed NGU-AA's half pixel shift with the shader provided by Bjin I forgot to update the image in the repo, it should be fine now.

hi madshi

Attached: nguaa-ravu-diff.png (1920x1080, 2.79M)

Tbh, I can see the same in pattern in the other NGU screenshots too if I multiply the difference to the reference by 10, and if this isn't MadVR doing some kind of debanding or dithering then I don't know what it is.

FSRCNNX 56-16-4-1 to the reference

Attached: fsrcnnx_difference.png (1920x1080, 1.7M)

NGU Sharp Very High to the reference

Attached: ngu_sharp_difference.png (1920x1080, 1.4M)

Being sincerely fair NGU is actually cleaner, and in the first place this is only visible because I'm intentionally multiplying it by 10.

Waifu now, I'm 90% positive this is just high-freq ~noise that was partially lost in the downscaling.

Attached: waifu2x_difference.png (1920x1080, 1.05M)

the fuck this nerds are talking

How can mpv be the best media player when IINA uses mpv as its backend, while having the best UI ever?

Attached: 2019.03.16_09-28-53.png (1504x944, 1.41M)

Now to actually show the real difference between them without magnifying the result to make it unfairly visible, this is how close waifu2x is to the reference.
