It was a remote controller for a drone I bought last week. I bought it from Hong Kong but they charge a £30 admin fee to return it, plus I have to pay for the return postage. Also I don't trust them, in case it still doesn't work, they will charge more fees. So I just took it to my local PC repair shop and he said he'd take a look at it.

what type of drone did you buy?

The Parrot Bebop 2. You can use it without the remote but it doesn't go very far and the controls are very clunky when you have to use your smart phone. Plus it's more likely to lose connection without the remote, as it has a long range gps built in. I think without the remote it can only go 0.3 miles, and with it about 1.6
