Does anyone have any uses for optical disk slots? Recently got a case with one that I don't really need and was wondering if there are any creative/useful ways I can repurpose it.
I saw some of those desk drawers that are designed to be installed in the optical drive which I thought was pretty clever for holding USBs/screws/other peripherals, but some of the amazon reviews suggested that the actual drawers were pretty bad.
doing a mod where you get a mayflash adapter for GC controllers in one a drive bay would be awesome for multiplayer Smash

You could try using it as a masturbator machine. Faggot.

I have a door on my front panel so this would be of limited practicality for me, but I like the idea

Well you could still poke some speaker wire through the back of the case and run it into the back of the amp, use it to power some passive speakers. I imagine the quality would be somewhat comparable to a Lepy or another cheap amp.

I would, I just leave my GC adapter dangling and I sometimes have to plug in 4 360 controllers for other local games. I should get a wireless dongle for 360 or bluetooth adapter for Sony controllers.

>Working on laptop >Finished up for the day >start putting away all the extra screws I have >Put the tiny driver in there too cuz why not >Doesn't quite fit >Give it a little force like any other drawer >Hear the screws slosh into my computer case >Have a small case >PSU in the flight path >The fan sounds like sand hit it >The light show

>multi flash card reader can fit in a 5.25 inch slot >they have 3.5 -> 5.25 drive adapter sleds so you could put hard drives in ur 5.25 inch bays >get a good dvd or bluray burner for burning discs, not exactly a novel use for 5.25 inch drive bays but optical media is arguably the best medium for archiving data, as it is not subject to feromagnetic depolarization/degredation

>Looking at getting a case with drive bays so I can upload all my DVD's Doing it ass-backwards. Just get a USB DVD drive instead.

>Doesn't fit >force it anyways >"Oh no, how could the cheap plastic have broken? It's clearly the drawer's fault and not my own dumb ass!"
