i'd like to move all of my data onto an sd express card.
the operating system or operating systems, the data, everything.
the thing that really got me interested in it was raspberry pi.
raspberry pi boots off of and runs everything off of an sd card.
i can't help but be tempted to think what would happen if i tried to use a raspberry pi as my main computer right-now.
the issue is that i don't have a 1TB micro-SD card; which is required for all my data; which is part of the test.
i don't like having multiple-disk drives. i like having 1 thing because it's easier to manage. that's why i'm relatively conservative with my data.
i tried posting a bunch of images and stuff and it didn't work.
so might as well attempt to have a discussion i guess.
The thing is, you're just gonna lose all of your data putting it on a shitty SD card.
i keep misfiring and deleting posts too much.
You could try having less stuff, so that it all fits in a current SD card.
i was also sorta inspired by cell phone users.
i saw cell phone users and they just have a cell phone and do everything on their cell phone and they have no -good- anything.
that's amazing to me.

Nah I mean with backup and stuff.
Of course i wouldn't move everything to a 1TB micro SD card. Probably even by Lexar or whatever.
But the point of the idea of attempting to do everything on a raspberry pi is to experiment with it and see what will happen or how long I will last.
Maybe days. Maybe minutes. Maybe not at all. Due to some wall. I don't know.

I'm a -huge- data-hoard. I hate deleting anything. yeah I could off-load everything. But it sorta bugs me to break up my data at any time at all. It also bugs me to know that I would just need everything to double -1- more time to be able to fit everything. So. I'm leaning towards patience right now. But thank you.

In that case you can just plug some USB sticks in, you don't have to go crazy with the SD card unless you really want to. You can get a 400-500GB micro sd for pretty cheap. But not 1TB yet.
