It's been obsolete for a while.
Any 4C ryzen beats it. And any 6c+ ryzen pulls way ahead.
You can look at Gaymers Nexus 2017/2019 revisits of the 2600k.
It's at the bottom of every chart in both Gaymen and production .

The 8700k was already in the pipeline before ryzen. But there's no way Intel would have gone to 8 and now 10 cores for mainstream chips if not for Ryzen.

no, this is like running a stock vega 56 at 70% power limit and having it beat a stock 2070.

Here is the issue.
The 9900k at stock settings is vastly overvolted.
Motherboard makers aren't following Intel's specs in the slightest.
That's why we saw 110C load temps from some reviews, but 70C from others at the same clocks.
Despite what drones say, the 9900k will run at it's 2c 5.0ghz boost frequencies when with a Mobo limit of Intel's set TDP.
A blind test from a competitor isn't exactly trustworthy. Especially when AMD refused to say what clocks both chips were at.

Wrong, current Coffee Lake R Skus are all overclocked and overvolted far beyond what 14nm process can handle without becoming power guzzler/housefires. It was never designed to go beyond 6-cores without significant compromises on clockspeed. Intel was banking on their 10nm process to follow through without incident.
Coffee Lake R is Prescott over all again. Matisse will make more obviously as it completely destroys it at power/performance ratio.

That's why the 7700K destroys any Ryzen CPU ever released in gaymen
