is that the Jow Forums servers?

Looks like it costs less than a used sports car so sure

what does one accomplish with a datacenter at home?

Huge epeen, electricity bills and carcinogenic burning smell of running 24/7 power supplies

He went full retard on later videos.

Nvm, that might not actually be his private stuff.

I know right? He could have just used that money to get wasted all the time lmao now that would've been a better use for that money!

no, fucking hot 10/10 bitches every day is

mfw people get assblasted because someone bought something that could actually be useful and not some shitty sports car

Surely he could have just set this up at his workplace, been paid for doing so and be done with it. Why bring your work literally home with you?

tbqh, i'm just a poor version of Morten.

If you don't have a home server you're a pleb and should fuck off back to your desktop thread.

Why do you need $30K+ worth of hardware if you're just training yourself on setting things up? What's wrong with VMs?

>What's wrong with VMs?
Look at this faggot. Plenty of surplus hardware out there.

having so much resources and wasting it on nothing? No.
The dream life would be to have a server room under your house with actual purpose, such as colocating someone else's servers or selling people data storage services.

Sneaky's is better

>make mad bank playing video games
>get qt Asian gf
>she begins pressuring you to crossdress and wear makeup to be her qt sissy gf
>the two of you do cosplay shoots together on Patreon and make even more money from thirsty nerds that want to fuck you both

It'd probably be tough to explain this to your kids someday though

The idea of it sounds pretty nice. I've been playing around with powerful physical rented servers from various providers for quite a while now and I've been doing similar stuff with some of the desktops I have at home. I came up with the idea of filling up my basement with high-end servers should I ever get to the point of having a nice house and enough disposable income to run such a project. One day I might do an automated network Gentoo install that runs in under a minute from a huge compile server farm.

Enough space to store your porn collection.

Look at it again user, it's all old stuff. 2011 v2 era shit. you can pick a server up for $200-300.

What's that meant to mean, you reddit once? I enjoy cars as well as computing. I have a car that I race (badly) and will not stop unless I had to. But I guess because it's not your passion it's invalid.

>you can pick a server up for $200-300.
Not even. I've seen them up for sale on ebay with fully populated RAM (16-32gb) for as little as $120.
I'd pick one up if it wasn't so power hungry+loud.

Haha yeah, he isn't buying drugs or cars, what an incel, right my fellow redditors?

Just for that ram even $120 could be a fair price, and depending of the socket you could take the CPU and use it too.

you wanna stay away from the 1366 socket stuff, if you get a 2011 board which are around the $200 mark, you start getting into the decent Sandy Bridge cpu's, 6/8 cores for $20ish
