What source are you using that has more than one LFE channel?

Everyone says that until they get two.
It's not something you miss when you haven't had, but easily noticeable aftwards.

Music doesn't have a LFE channel, unless it's some meme shit.
You use a crossover for that.

That's a lot of lows for so little med/highs though.

Any decent active woofer will have a built in crossover you can feed directly from the speaker outputs that will only filter the lows.

Except sound directionality is a real thing, since sound travels in waves.
Lower frequency sounds are just not as distinguishable, doesn't mean they aren't entirely indistinguishable direction wise.

My tower speakers use the lower 6" for bass and it actually isn't that bad, having two sources of bass does make a difference

Indeed. Specially in smaller rooms where there isn't much space between the sub and room corner, directionality is very noticable.

I can't even turn my 4.5" stereo Pioneer Linear Powers over half volume without having complaints, sucks living in a condoplex in the city.

A friend of mine has one of their tower subs. It's easily the best sub I've heard. Dual opposed 12s shake the whole house.

The reason to have two subwoofers is fewer suck-outs and peaks.
Also better seat-to-seat consistency but I'm guessing OP only has one couch.

Indeed stereo bass is a meme (and nobody does it) but dual mono subs, correctly positioned, have advantages.
