they aren't really emulating the Hardware though, it is more of a translation.

translation is cheap and can give you ~99% accuracy which is good enough for gaming as most cpu instructions are very similar at their core. If you want 99.999... accuracy by emulating the actual processor you need much much more powerful hardware.

The cell isn't anything special. It's exactly how a modern GPU is designed but without the pre compute shader pipe, like vertex shaders, prim shaders, etc. that handle stuff like vertex assembly, geometry culling, and skew correction; and no backend for rendering out. The reason why universities bought it was because it was cheap, lower power, and IIRC was cache coherent since it's part of the processor.

They seem to cite some need for open source. Which is probably why they ruled out nvidia and CUDA, which would have easily delivered better performance albeit at a much higher cost in 2008 because IIRC it was limited to a few work station cards.

Intel's RAM is more expensive, meanwhile - Zen+'s minimal spec is 2933MHz when not counting APU potato and lower tiered CPUs below that. Gen1 Zen was 2133MHz, so they've increased it quite a bit. 3200+ MHz kit for Zen is cheaper than for Intel. Also - Intel doesn't get large benefits from faster RAM due to it's very structure, while Zen outright LOVES faster RAM. You were completely BTFO'd on all fields, Intbecile.

See , it's one of the prime and very clear examples. Now add to that pic these factors:
1. Minimal FPS, which is literally only metric that's important.
2. It's a documented FACT that Zen can sustain such high FPS WHILE playing the game, recording video of it in lossless quality, AND streaming it all online, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Try doing that on any Inturd CPoo and it'll immediately completely shit itself while turning into throttling housefire in the process.
