yeah it's great. pretty much all the games I wanna play are on linux, because I mostly play indie games and usually these are ported.
I had given up on big devs way before I switched from windows. I was an avid gamer in the 90s and 00s and modern games just didn't cut it for me anymore. I thought I was getting old, but turns out modern games ARE shit.
They are all missing something very important, something that I have found in indie games. Something they had before gaming became a mega-corporate industry.
Something called a "soul".

lazy "i just wanna play some earthbound": snes9x (despite the name, it is indeed multiplatform)
otherwise retroarch with the snes9x (good enough for common games) or bsnes (accurate but requires a fast cpu) cores, trickier to setup, but if you want to setup more emulators, it'll be worth it to do so

Yes, I have a lot of fun doing it too. Lutris and Steam's Proton have made it very simple and effective. Hopefully the market share grows and more game devs will support the platform natively.
