Shut the fuck up retard your opinions don't matter
I-I was only joking!
is it worth 100€ to get a balanced cable for HD 600?
no
t never heard balanced
WHO WANTS TO SNIFF MY FEET?
I have an ASUS Prime Z370 motherboard. These are the specs I could find for the onboard sound.
I want to get a decent pair of open ear headphones and a mod mic to replace my gaming headset.
Will my onboard sound be enough to power something like an AKG K7XX or will I still need a sound card or amp?
I am not an audiophile, I just want something with better comfort and sound than the sennheiser game ones I’m currently using. But I’m just now learning about ohms and impedance and I’m kind of lost.
Get AIDs bitch nigger faggot
FUCK OFF NOSTAX INCEL
Don't buy AKG K7XX, they're inefficient, get DT880 Premium 250ohm or 600ohm.
>they're inefficient
No they aren't.
Watched a video review that said the k7xx’s are great for gaming, and they’re only 62ohm, that’s why I’m interested.
Keep crunching your pathetic cock to trannys, faggot
Buy Stax, there is literally NO alternative
>Buy Stax, there is literally NO bass
FTFY
I just spent an inordinate amount of money on a headphone holy fuck
I feel sick
What did u buy
not telling you spreadsheet user
it's above $2000 though
Do you have me on your spreadsheet?
I like Kpop and have SHP9500's.
Thanks for telling me to buy the SHP9500 the other day. The headphones are great and aren't heavy like the Audio Techno AIR ATH-AD700 I had before that was causing me to lean my head and neck forward causing me headaches.
Should I buy a M1060 if it don't plan on getting another amp? The schiit Fulla is driving my cans so far so good.
Enjoy friendo.
I got a pair of Tin T2 Pros last night because my kz zs3s suck and have started to shit the bed. Did I do good for 50 bucks?
T2pro sucks ass, t2 and t3 are better
Aye bish buy stax we stax gang nigguh
based and niggerpilled
007 got it. What amp?
Fidelio X2. Had these for about a year now and will probably not buy another pair of headphones before these eventually stop working.
I am curious though, what headphones out there have a "wider" sound than these?
My old open-backs (DT 880's) sound way inferior compared to this pair in every possible way.
Was wondering if there is a pair out there that blows the X2's away in terms of soundstage that aren't like 2000$+.
no you dont
Carbon CC
Alright post it boy, that's a big amp
fuck of spreadsheet nigger
I'm not a spreadsheet fag, just wanna see the carbon CC
yes you are
It would surprise you who I really am.
Bane?
That's a big amp
Poorfag here. Any decent headphone dac/amp for like $100 with speaker outs as well?

I guess you can try auditioning ATH-AD900X but it's sound might not be to your taste.
Need recommendations under $200, would like to try wireless but doesn't matter too much.
Currently own m40x but a plastic piece broke off so the left headphone kind of dangles

Bluetooth preferred, even if sound quality is worsened
Low IQ nostaxxer doesn't know stax = hifi is axiom in the church of audiophoolery.
Got a pair of these today (250 ohm), should I get an amp for them and if so, what?
I'm thinking about getting the Sony WH1000XM3. Before I do are their any other headphones in similar quality, noise cancellation, Bluetooth capabilities, and comfort level that I should look at? I don't care about the price or where I buy them. Any suggestions?
Whats listening with user
You're good if you can get enough volume.
stax
stax
what are the spreadsheet posts referring to from earlier I haven't been here in a while whats the spreadsheet
?
looking probably for a combo.
Fuck, I love being a poorfag sometimes.
The joy I'm getting out of these bargain bin 40 year old Stax is just incredible. Also, no bass my ass.
Redpill on STAX for newbies: STAX is an old Jap company with outdated tech that was considered high end back in the 1960s and 1970s but sounds like ass by today's standards, so they went nearly bankrupt. They were purchased by a Chinese company for just a million dollars who decided to market STAX to the audiophool "more expensive is better" demographic who buys those crappy $3000 vinyl players, they shill heavily on HeadFi and here on /hpg/, plus they pay Zeos to shill their crap just like Fostex does.
>In December 2011, Chinese loudspeaker manufacturer Edifier announced the acquisition of 100% equity in Stax
Oratory has measured the highest end STAX, the SR-009S.
dropbox.com
dropbox.com
It's worse than the HD600. HD600 scored 92 and SR-009S scored 76.
Recently Rtings rated STAX across various dimension, it's worse in terms of sound than mid-priced offerings from Hifiman and Audeze, and only got a 7.7 rating.
In a separate study:
>The very highest end STAX ($4000 SR-009) was rated lower in blind tests than a $200 K701

To add insult to overpriced injury, they have shitty plastic build quality that you would expect on cheap chinkshit headphones:
youtube.com
Oratory (respected sound engineer) on the build:
Even best Stax headphones sound objectively worse than mid-fi. This is why they don't demo them in store, they rely on the internet to create a sense of mystique around STAX and shill it as the endgame because its expensive, Asian, rare and obscure. In reality its no bass sounding garbage, with shrill highs that appeal only to near-deaf boomer. And what they say is true, they have no soundstage.
Based and objectivepilled
>Yes, Let me spend half the price of the headphones on a cable for them
>surely that'll make them sound 50% better
Will I likely need to upgrade my DT1990s within the next 5-10 years? I see no clear upgrade aside from electrostats, but mainly listen to rock, not something like jazz or classical.
HD800S is a marginal upgrade but stats are the only real path forward
Electrostats are a downgrade though.
incel
bump
meanwhile it's physically impossible for a balanced cable to make a difference in sound for better or for worse
DT990 is cheaper and better than the abomination that is the DT1990.
ONLY FOR HEADPHONES OPERATING IN FULLY DIFFERENTIAL AMPLIFICATION, 100+dB
recommendation for a good microphone? My uses are recording piano and talking online
dt990 sounds like flaming dogshit on wheels
this, the dt880 and hd650 are so much better
buy stax
But 990 were rated significantly higher than 650 in blind tests.
hey loan me some monies, ok?
stop being a poor NEET
More like deaf tests lmao
Dynamics and planars go along so fucking well
