What makes this better than VLC? Honestly asking here.

nothing, actually PotPlayer its way better, but good luck arguing with a bunch of literal pedo virgins

once libplacebo is merged the OP should be haasn and the racecar

If anyone's looking for a settings GUI, check this out:
github.com/MattMcManis/Glow

I started (re)watching Futurama recently and it looks slightly clearer in mpv than VLC. There don't seem to be many options to make VLC look good.

A lot
>better scalers
>better color management
>better rendering
>more options
I also like setting up auto profiles to enable certains settings and disable certain settings based on conditions I've set up. Now I don't have to manually change settings.

way too outdated

I only watch videos from youtube and liveleak and stream shows and anime from the top search result website on google

janitors look at this

Is there a way to get twitchls.com to work on mpv? Using that site now since twitch are being a bunch of jews and putting ads embed in their stream now.

It helped me tremendously. Do you have anything newer?

Yes.

>mpv.io/manual/master/

artoriuz do your job

JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEB

It looks like they are just embedding an twitch player, the result would be no different than playing the twitch.tv URL with mpv

>an open source project, enabling you to watch streams using HLS techonolgy instead of Flash.
kek, welcome to 2014.

Use streamlink with this github.com/streamlink/streamlink/pull/2369

Jeeb should just randomly merge some PRs for shits and giggles.

Where does one add scripts? Can't use multiple lines in the config.
Say I want both:
script-opts=osc-hidetimeout=2500
script-opts=osc-timetotal=yes
Where do I put them?

How does it compare to mplayer, especially in regards to bloatyness?

Put it all on 1 line
script-opts=osc-hidetimeout=2500,osc-timetotal=yes

Attached: mpv.png (1173x716, 103K)

Separate the options with a comma, so: script-opts=osc-hidetimeout=2500,osc-timetotal=yes
It's quite light. You're gonna have to try it out.

...

Thanks.

Jeeb pls

Hi /mpv/, I've just spent the past 2 days trying to figure out how to build mpv with ffmpeg with libdav1d on Mac, since Homebrew recently got rid of options, and MacPorts doesn't have dav1d at all.
I haven't found a build that has it already included either.

I wrote how I did it here: pastebin.com/m4VezHii
No idea if I installed libdav1d correctly, but it just werks.

>not using mpc

shiggy diggy

you mean bloatpc

>using mpc-*

Artoriuz, try these better CSFCof weights with PSNR-HA/HMA metrics: bitly/2Oh9JRa
>This is not the JPEG based matrix from the paper, this one gives a slightly higher MOS agreement.

Here I made an improved PSNR-HMA

mpv threads are dead

mpv officially cancelled

mpv is alive =)

mpv = mpv

Netflix won, HTPC is for oldfags now.

How come when I play a video fullscreen with the same resolution as my display the stats say luma is being scaled with bilinear? Shouldn't only chroma be upscaled in this case? I don't even have scale=bilinear anyway.

bilinear is the default for all scaling. also, the stats overlay just isn't sophisticated enough to show/hide luma scaling when in fullscreen.

But why is scaling even being performed? The video has the same resolution as the display.

mpv.io/manual/master/#options-scaler-resizes-only

Pretty much this.

I see, so in this case bilinear isn't doing any actual spatial interpolation then?

How to apply a custom resolution when not in fullscreen mode? Something to do with geometry? Say I want 1280x720 size when not in FS?

MadVR Envy competition when?

--autofit can do pixels and percentage of screen size.

Thanks, though --geometry did the trick. --autofit retains the aspect ratio, while --geometry bypasses it.

I have a better question. How to make it fullscreen with borders i.e with the taskbar and the top bar?

I'm not really sure what you're looking for, but does autofit=100%x100%
autofit-larger=100%x100% fit the bill? Your window manager can probably do that as well. I'm not sure if you can make the video take up the entire screen when the taskbar and border shown.

I'm trying to mimic VLC behavior when you exit fullscreen. Fit to screen while both the taskbar and the top menu bar are visible. The closest i got is withgeometry=1920x1015. Thanks in any case.

there is no scaling being performed on the luma in fullscreen when video res=monitor res. thats what I meant by the osd not being sophisticated enough. it shows luma being scaled even tho it isn't. jesus you are dense

>jesus you are dense

wm4 is that you?

Any way to remove the yellow loading effect in WIn7?

Attached: 1543657212740.png (70x49, 6K)

yes

Mind sharing how?

yes

How well does mpv handle HDR and 4k? My laptop struggles rendering UHD vids with MPC-HC, so I am looking for something a bit more efficient.

wm4 here, nope.

uninstall windows

Are you really that autistic that it bothers you that much?

try searching "taskbar" in the manual

Nice. Thought it would take some script or something.
no-taskbar-progress

>lightweight
If a bunch of buttons slow down your system get a job

4K HDR plays fine on my XPS 9560

Are you ok, user?

>wm4 actually hates Jow Forums

nice try, user
