I started (re)watching Futurama recently and it looks slightly clearer in mpv than VLC. There don't seem to be many options to make VLC look good.

A lot >better scalers >better color management >better rendering >more options I also like setting up auto profiles to enable certains settings and disable certain settings based on conditions I've set up. Now I don't have to manually change settings.

I only watch videos from youtube and liveleak and stream shows and anime from the top search result website on google
Is there a way to get twitchls.com to work on mpv? Using that site now since twitch are being a bunch of jews and putting ads embed in their stream now.
Dylan Morris
It helped me tremendously. Do you have anything newer?
Jeeb should just randomly merge some PRs for shits and giggles.

Where does one add scripts? Can't use multiple lines in the config. Say I want both: script-opts=osc-hidetimeout=2500 script-opts=osc-timetotal=yes Where do I put them?
Brody Wilson
How does it compare to mplayer, especially in regards to bloatyness?
Grayson Richardson
Put it all on 1 line script-opts=osc-hidetimeout=2500,osc-timetotal=yes
Separate the options with a comma, so: script-opts=osc-hidetimeout=2500,osc-timetotal=yes It's quite light. You're gonna have to try it out.

Hi /mpv/, I've just spent the past 2 days trying to figure out how to build mpv with ffmpeg with libdav1d on Mac, since Homebrew recently got rid of options, and MacPorts doesn't have dav1d at all. I haven't found a build that has it already included either.
I wrote how I did it here: pastebin.com/m4VezHii No idea if I installed libdav1d correctly, but it just werks.
Artoriuz, try these better CSFCof weights with PSNR-HA/HMA metrics: bitly/2Oh9JRa >This is not the JPEG based matrix from the paper, this one gives a slightly higher MOS agreement.
How come when I play a video fullscreen with the same resolution as my display the stats say luma is being scaled with bilinear? Shouldn't only chroma be upscaled in this case? I don't even have scale=bilinear anyway.
Jaxon Cook
bilinear is the default for all scaling. also, the stats overlay just isn't sophisticated enough to show/hide luma scaling when in fullscreen.
Hudson Lee
But why is scaling even being performed? The video has the same resolution as the display.
I see, so in this case bilinear isn't doing any actual spatial interpolation then?
Brayden Hernandez
How to apply a custom resolution when not in fullscreen mode? Something to do with geometry? Say I want 1280x720 size when not in FS?

MadVR Envy competition when?

--autofit can do pixels and percentage of screen size.
Parker Smith
Thanks, though --geometry did the trick. --autofit retains the aspect ratio, while --geometry bypasses it.
David Flores
I have a better question. How to make it fullscreen with borders i.e with the taskbar and the top bar?
Carter Flores
I'm not really sure what you're looking for, but does autofit=100%x100% autofit-larger=100%x100% fit the bill? Your window manager can probably do that as well. I'm not sure if you can make the video take up the entire screen when the taskbar and border shown.
Kayden Diaz
I'm trying to mimic VLC behavior when you exit fullscreen. Fit to screen while both the taskbar and the top menu bar are visible. The closest i got is withgeometry=1920x1015. Thanks in any case.
Ayden Lee
there is no scaling being performed on the luma in fullscreen when video res=monitor res. thats what I meant by the osd not being sophisticated enough. it shows luma being scaled even tho it isn't. jesus you are dense

Any way to remove the yellow loading effect in WIn7?
