Audio Issue

Audio Issue.

>not your personal tech support

I know. I'm willing to pay whoever can fix this 20 dollars via paypal.

I've tried 3 other sites and I'm getting the same basic shit like "turn it off and on again?!" and "make sure volume is turned up?" Report the thread, ignore the thread, whatever you feel is necessary just please know that I'm aware of the rule.

Heres the issue...

Some youtube videos (1 out of every 10 and always the same ones) have no audio. This happens with HTML5 and java, Chrome and Firefox. I have the same issue with VLC but I'm able to fix it with by changing to Stero audio mode.

The issue occurs with my headset and my speakers. This issue has been present since I built this computer 3 weeks ago, so it's always been present.

Let me know if you need more info

Any ideas?

did you ever tried to just google your ("Sound card model" common problems??)

Make sure in bios you are using uefi. Sometimes this can cause issues with sound

No sound card, but downloaded and installed all audio drivers for my motherboard when I built this pc.

Motherboard is: gigabyte z390 gaming x

Didn't know this. Going to check. Will be back soon.

Confirmed, it said uefi

>no sound card
DUDE i meant the internal sound CHIP

I presumed. I was just letting you know I don't have a dedicated sound card. S'why I went to my mobo right after.

so wheres the sound come from WTF??

....the motherboard.

>I presumed. I was just letting you know I don't have a dedicated sound card. S'why I went to my mobo right after.
>....the motherboard.
duuuuuuuuuude hold your shit together
i meant there is definitely an (((((INTEGRATED))))) SOUND CHIP IN YOUR MOBO
go to device manager and check the sound chip model

why are people autistic towards others who don't know all about computers?
it's a box of plastic and metal that shows youtube and pornography to me.

because it's annoying talking to someone who is unsure of what they're talking about I guess. Speaking of which!

Not quite sure what you're looking for. I'm looking in device manager. Under Sound/video/game controllers I see

>amd high def audio
>logitech g633
>realtek(r) audio

yeah its annoying but why does it motivate some people to hold shift and use weird anti-semetic dogwhistles? They could just not respond at all, or only give some good information.

op here. I work customer service for an airline service. It's hard talking to people who're dumb about something you know about... I usually do the same shit, but only once they leave/hang up the phone.

Why do people say "issue" when they mean "problem?"

For the same reason police officers say "ascertain" every other word. Makes them sound smart when they're actually retarded.

>realtek(r) audio
>amd high def audio
your amd card name??
your mobo name ??
NOW

Only thing amd in the pc is the video card. MSI r9 390x gaming

Motherboard is Gigabyte z390 gaming x

(gpu sucks, it's recycled. getting rid of it soon)

whats your windows version??

also from what i read (few articles)
the front sound panel should work for you

Windows 10

ok I plugged headset into my front panel and it's doing the same thing.

as said in the articles i read its a fucking drivers problem
So you must know the model of the your realtek chip and search for drivers for it in realtek SITE

another question
did you install the drivers by yourself or winows installed it?

another question
what version of windows 10??

After I built the pc I installed the drivers from a usb drive that I got from gigabytes website then I ran windows update for everything else

Realtek ALC892 apparently.

>windows update
this is getting hard
okay
UNPLUG INTERNET from every connection
uninstall your realtek sound driver from device manager WITH DELETE DRIVERS OPTION CHECKED
reboot
unplug internet from all connections
install that driver from your usb drive

>this is getting hard

Ok. So I understand I need to reinstall drivers. I'm curious why uninstalling and reinstalling mobo drivers wouldn't of done that. Would gigabyte not include the drivers for the audio chip they put on their motherboard?

do you really expect us to do all the work for you at this stage

because windows update SOMETIMES OVERRIDE YOUR INSTALLED DRIVERS

ok... I understand you're trying to be condescending but again...

Would gigabyte NOT include audio drivers on their website, for the audio chip on the motherboard?

As I've stated, I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. Multiple times. I just got done doing it again. It's still not working.

This thread is why Jow Forums is "not your personal tech support" in the sticky at the top of the damn board

So when I plug in the internet cable again it's going to fuck it up?

And no I'm not actually asking you that. AGAIN... i know you want to seem smart and act condescending but you're making no sense.

Thanks for trying, but I don't think you're able to solve this problem. That's not an insult. I'm not either.

Yeah because nobody here knows what the fuck they're doing.

This thread in a nutshell

>do this
>I did that
>do it
>I did, I'll do it again
>why don't you understand you need to do it?
>I just did it didnt work
>ARE YOU SO STUPID YOU CANT EVEN DO THE THING?!
>The thing was done
>You can't be helped

If OP bothered to look up how to install drivers on his own we wouldn't be halfway down that list
>x doesn't work
>its a driver issue
>oh ok thanks
Worst case scenario:
>where do i get drivers
>on the manufacturers website

dude
you have to do it
windows update fucked up my intel wireless card and i couldnt connect to shit
so i searched for an updated and i installed the driver manually and it worked

>i don't understand simple instructions therefore everyone else is stupid

If you're think so little or someone that you don't believe they're capable of installing a driver then you're of no use to anybody.

I mentioned this earlier but yes I just now reinstalled the driver directly from realteks website.

I've also tried it from Gigabytes website. It's still not working.

Dude. You're telling me to reinstall the drivers. I told you multiple times I've done that and it's not working. You keep telling me to do it though.. it's not. fucking. working.

Holy god I'm not a computer genius for sure but god damn it I know how to install fucking drivers my dude. you're refusing to believe that because this SHOULD be working. I know it should be working. I'm just as irritated if not more so. The simple solution is not working.

what your winver version ???

They do include, but not always the newest version. Uninstall them completely (both in settings->apps) and device manager for both Realtek and AMD audio(it's hdmi audio but can still cause issues). Turn off auto downloading from Windows update then find the newest drivers for your sound chip, preferably from Realtek directly. Install your GPU drivers then after a reboot your sound drivers.

If you don't use hdmi audio, turn off those outputs in sound options. When this issue occurs there's no audio at all or just the browser? Try switching hardware acceleration in your browser settings.

upvoted

no idiot you dont understand

my sound isnt working

try this:
1) stop all related windows audio services
2) delete your audio driver
3) restart the computer
windows will automatically install a new audio drivers. then, check to make sure all your windows audio services are turned back on. there might be a conflict among the services, sometimes new windows services are added randomly and fight with each other like Japanese beta fish

dude they said if you upgraded windows itself it will be fixed
so i asked your winver ????

Follow up.
I've had issues like you described when I had both speakers and headset plugged in. Sometimes Windows couldn't switch between outputs. Sound settings were showing that there's output but no actual sound.

W10 1809 had problems with some intel drivers when it comes to sound also.

why do you fucking retards use win10 when it does shit like this to your pc? you're all so fucking stupid

Have you reinstalled your audio codecs?
Perhaps there are certain sound formats your device doesnt know how to decode. Codecs help with that.

Especially if it happens with certain videos and always thise videos.

Stop using windows.
I expect my $20 in the mail.

And finally, are you using standard windows codec's or some 3rd party? Also, browser console lists any errors?

was she fine?

codecguide.com/download_kl.htm

For OP, that user sounds right. Give this a go. I think we established that its not a driver issue at this point (especially since if it was driver problem, audio wouldnt work at all, not just intermittently. Jow Forums you should know this)

OP here, I've been gone. I'm sure you're gone too.

I never installed any third party anything just whatever gigabyte provided in their drivers and what intel/windows 10 installed.

differentfag here, you mentioned that this occurs with your headset and speakers... is the headset USB? or are you plugged directly into the rear or front ports?

This has to do with channels. Most Youtube videos are 2.0 (i.e. stereo) but sometimes the ones in 5.1 don't play sound.

You need to figure out how to force everything to play in 2.0 basically, I'm sure there's a setting somewhere.
