Chrome is the IE of web browsers. It's designed for idiots, and takes all of the options away so you don't hurt yourself. And yes, Chromium is no better than Chrome. It's still featureless, has shit add-ons, and consumes more ram than your entire operating system when idling, or alternatively crashes your computer when you open more than 20 tabs. It's also just as much of a botnet. It's "partially open source" and is entirely maintained and developed by Google engineers. It phones home every time you open it, every time you check for add-on updates, and Google's DNS servers are hardcoded into it.
>If you're thinking of switching to Chromium (Google's open source version of Chrome) instead, think again. For some time, Chromium snuck in a binary blob for voice recognition whenever you started it up. This has been removed by the project maintainers, but it should raise some concern over what else could be lurking in the code.
What's wrong with ungoogled chromium, honestly? It uses less ram than firefox these days. I have tried many browsers and UG-C is my goto Jow Forums browser. I dont visit other sites in it. i use vivaldi/waterfox for "Real" browsing.
Gabriel Foster
>if u liek popoolar ting den u r brainlet pleb lelz t. Jow Forums
Jacob Long
OK Retard, at least it's not SJWFurryfox with botnet in source code
Found the Chrome/Chromium users. With Microsoft deciding to switch Edge to the Chromium engine, Firefox is the last browser not developed by a for-profit corporation, the last browser that respects your privacy, and the last open source browser unrelated to Google that can trade blows with and even exceed the Chromium engine. If sites stop supporting Firefox because of retards like you using Chrome because you're simpletons and it "just werks", and Firefox subsequently falls as a result, you will have a world where Google Inc controls the only remaining browser engine and singlehandedly controls all web standards going forward, and by extension the development of the internet. You both should feel stupid, because you are. Literally contributing to the downfall of the internet.
Jeremiah Cook
>Vivaldi THERE ARE DOZENS OF US!!!
Colton Richardson
I have a button that opens my current tab in Google Chrome so I can cast if need be but that's it.
Henry Barnes
But it's open source. The thing is, a team of salaried engineers simply makes a better product than a few NEETS and diversity hires
Lincoln Foster
>takes all the options away Okay, so where is the //flags of Firefox? You're the illiterate here, faggot Who the fuck needs "Features", i just want to have a browser with the biggest add-on base that just works and works the best. >Crashes your computer lmfao, what are you on like 2GB of RAM or some shit? Never had a chrome-related crash.
Thomas Phillips
Mozilla has salaried engineers as well. The only difference is that they're not for-profit, so there's no conflict of interest and they don't keep your data the way Google does. >makes a better product Chromium/Chrome is a technologically inferior product. It only has higher market share because Google spent about 8 years advertising it on the front page of the search engine, bundling it with Adobe Flash, and advertising it on Youtube. >a few NEETS and diversity hires There's no such thing as a diversity hire, everyone goes through the same pipeline. In general it's actually harder for minorities to get hired, because they don't have the networks that people in the majorities have. Lastly, even companies that publicly praise diversity are less likely to call minorities back, even with identical resumes.
Ryan Jenkins
>Okay, so where is the //flags of Firefox? >You're the illiterate here, faggot Are you an idiot? Firefox has had about:config before Chrome was even born, and unlike Chrome they don't remove settings from it every release to fuck over power users for no reason. It's almost like you have no idea what you're talking about, holy fuck the IQ of Chrome users is low.
Thomas Lee
Firefox killed all the good addons so there's no reason to use it anymore when it shits the bed constantly and has inferior performance. I use ungoogled-chromium. Tried Vivaldi but the performance is even worse than FF.
Gabriel Sanchez
Maybe right at the release of 57 you could say that, but now almost all of the good add-ons are back, and in a lot of cases even more powerful than they were before. >shits the bed constantly and has inferior performance. Quantum is snappier and faster than Chrome in general. >I use ungoogled-chromium You cannot ungoogle Chromium. Google's spyware is hardcoded into it, and for a long time it was recording your voice without your consent as well.
Jonathan Cox
>release of 57 you could say that, but now almost all of the good add-ons are back
Still no downthemall or session manager. The alternatives are garbage. Nothing like Menu Editor either which was one of my primary reasons for staying on FF.
>Quantum is snappier and faster than Chrome in general.
No it isn't and nothing you can say can convince me. I still use FF since I'm still transitioning and it's night and day. You're just wrong
>Google's spyware is hardcoded into it, and for a long time it was recording your voice without your consent as well.
Sure. Wanna give some proof?
Luke Wood
Come back when your great browser isn't run by trannies focused on muh diversity instead of making a good browser. Firefox is shit and there are good reasons that the average user (which is the user group that matters) doesn't use it anymore.
Jack Adams
I use firefox only because I always did and I can't be arsed to change because it just werks.
Jaxson Ward
Ok. What should I use, considering Chrome is the industry standard web browser, and sites are guaranteed to work there properly
William Williams
So you're going to shoot yourself in the face by using Chromium because you're an easily triggered snowflake when it comes to people who look different than you... while ignoring the fact that Google is a more diverse organization than Firefox? The absolute state of Jow Forums incels.
Kevin Harris
Firefox 66.
Owen Walker
If I can't block everything by default it's kind of useless isn't it.
Tyler Rivera
>hurr durr durr pol >hurr durr durr triggered snowflake lol xd I don't give a shit about diversity, I don't give a shit about pol, I don't give a shit if some cunt wants to identify as a blue pink sprinkled IDE hard drive, what I fucking care about is the quality of a product. But thanks for exactly showing what my point is. Instead of making a good browser the Firefox dev team just cares about showing off how diverse they and the community in turn literally gets triggered when it gets pointed out.
Hudson Edwards
You can block everything by default you braindead fuck
Jeremiah Moore
Firefox is the superior product. You're clearly a snowflake who gets triggered to hell by seeing someone who doesn't look like you, and you're letting that irrationality influence your software decisions to the point that you're inviting Google to rape you in the ass.
Isaiah Diaz
>hurr durr durr triggered snowflake lulxd Fuck off. >Firefox is the superior product Citation needed. >inviting Google to rape you in the ass You can't escape the botnet. If you truly believe Firefox protects you from it you are even stupider than I thought. Unless you move to Green Bank and never use anything with a transistor again you are part of the botnet, or in other words fucked.
Nathan Russell
Is it possible to import my passwords and bookmarks from chromium to firefox?
John Bell
>Fuck off. Resorting to profanity because I'm right isn't going to hide that you're an easily triggered snowflake. On the contrary it only makes it even more apparent. >You can't escape the botnet. If you truly believe Firefox protects you from it you are even stupider than I thought. The typical slippery slope fallacy you would expect from a weak bootlicking low IQ cuck. Just because you can't escape all surveillance doesn't mean you should make it even worse, moron. Chromium sometimes records you without your consent, and logs your keystrokes for everything you type into the URL bar, even if you never hit enter. Not only that, but Google's DNS servers are hardcoded into Chromium so they know every website you visit even when you're not using their search engine. That is if you're a moron who uses Chrome/Chromium.
Matthew Wright
>Resorting to profanity because I'm right isn't going to hide that you're an easily triggered snowflake >Uses profanity himself and calls other bootlicking low IQ cuck >Hurr durr triggered snowflake lulxd You know you can say triggered snowflake a million times more and it will not change a thing. Calling other people a "bootlicking low IQ cuck", calling this and that fallacy, and all the high and mighty bullshit you fail at pulling off doesn't hide the fact that you are a retard with no clue what he's doing that only cares about brand loyalty than actual privacy. And thanks for pointing out what everyone already knew and still failing to give any reasons why Firefox is superior. Even if you use Firefox, what you simply should not if you really care about privacy, you still got a phone, friends, are still easily finger printable, are still tracked on basically every site by a million companies, get your data sold by the other programs you use, so on and so forth. Privacy in 1997+22 is de facto dead and you're not minimising your exposure one bit by using Firefox. But thanks that you keep going and expose your "brilliance" to the world.
Jack Kelly
But aren't you just going to wind up using google services anyway like youtube and google search?
Oliver Ross
>uses Firefox >calls others stupid Jow Forums is truly amazing
What the fuck are you talking about? Are you okay? Your word salad here isn't going to change that you're a triggered snowflake who resorted to slippery slope fallacies to defend the fact that you enjoy Google fucking you in the ass.
Aaron Nelson
chromefag here.
to be fair, firefox actually gives privacy *options* instead of just letting you delete what the browser recorded. it is absolutely fucking retarded for a browser like chrome to not have these features while its competitors do. plus, its painfully obvious that chrome wants to scrape information off of you. with firefox, theres a chance (even if minimally) that it's more trustworthy than chrome. stupid bullshit like that is what gives firefox a community of users to begin with. don't even get me started on the syncing trash that the new chrome browsers have come with.
Tyler Myers
What is it with Chrome users and slippery slope fallacies? Is this the favorite mental gymnastic that people subconsciously use to defend shitty decisions?
>can't read a few paragraphs so just pretend like you can't read them
congrats, you made yourself look like a bigger retard than the other user. must've made you look so smart, posting that useless mess of data pollution you call a post. pretty sure you're just being a shitty troll by now.
Cameron Jones
Pretending to be someone else isn't going to hide that you got rekt.
Caleb Edwards
>m-muh "same guy" definitely the same guy. you got me.
>1) You are probably technologically illiterate. >2) Definitely do not belong on Jow Forums. Having strong opinions about technology or programming doesn't make you technologically literate, it just makes you the equivalent of a neanderthal sports fan.
Hudson Cook

Crying because you got caught isn't going to change that you got caught.

Even if chromium is your daily driver you still have to use chromium for things like web midi. Our waste year of life to install stupid update.
saying things that never happened over and over doesn't change the fact that you're still making yourself look stupid. you lost the discussion but theres no reason to be extremely butthurt over it.

>he's literally repeating himself, copying other people, and projecting now because he got wrecked so hard in an argument keep going user. this is great.
not using blindness support to get audio and pass it through google listening AI to get text from it and then feed it back into their own captcha.
pro tip : no matter what browser you use, you are irrelevant as a individual to anyone. your data only worth anything to the tons, you are just a fucking grain of sand in a desert called capitalism.

Blake Wright
Nah.
Grayson Wood
>and unlike Chrome they don't remove settings from it every release to fuck over power users for no reason They literally do. Almost everything I I could do with just about:config requires me either editing a .js file or a .ja file
Nathaniel Davis
Like what?
Anthony Green
I like Firefox because when I open up 35 pictures of furry porn in my browser they load very quick.
Owen Nguyen
Surprisingly, FFX uses 100-200 Mb more RAM than Chrome on my machine. FFX is also dogshit on my phone. Chrome is the clear winner for me.
Joseph Morgan
If you're worried about RAM (you shouldn't be) than set the content process to 1 and/or go to about:memory and click minimize memory usage. Firefox can use les RAM if it's so important to you. Especially noticeable with a lot of open tabs. And firefox on mobile with ublock origin in medium mode is the best.
>t. cracker snowflake Imagine thinking you're a part of some genetic master race while simultaneously having recessive genes that get outbred by every other race on the planet. Imagine if you were that stupid and delusional.
coping this hard won't change the fact that you lost. learn to lose more gracefully in the future. but keep going user. i'm going to keep a count of how many times you've desperately repeated yourself. >3

Not even forks of Chromium can be ungoogled.
>Iridium is a FLOSS fork of Chromium stripped of as many botnet features as possible. This is not where it ends, though. If you go to their homepage, and read what they have to say about the privacy of their browser, it reads: "Chromium (which Iridium is based on) is a very secure browser, yes. But it does call home to Google. And we did even more to enhance security to the maximum extent possible". Smells like botnet.
Got anymore stupid posts to make, idiot?
